As to the economy and American’s pocketbooks….Unemployment at record lows and below 4% for the longest period in my lifetime, gdp at record high in 2022, inflation down, gas prices below $3, groceries cheaper, wages rising faster.
Under Trump we got record high unemployment for the longest stretch in memory, the first negative gdp I’ve ever heard of in America, inflation exploding, cheap gas only because no one was working so demand went to zero, empty shelves and exploding prices, stagnant wages, and over 2 million people permanently removed from the job market (1 million dead, well over 1 million permanently disabled)…Trumps own cdc said his disastrous policies caused over 40% of those cases that many other countries avoided with sane covid policies.

Just yesterday Trump publicly hoped and wished for a major economic crash this year because it would help him in the election, not caring one whit that it would hurt America badly. Says it all, and goes right through that empty space between your ears without pausing.

Bwaaaaaahahahaha!!! Well, Trump got his wish to delay his treason trial (the stolen top secret document one, I know, there’s so many it’s impossible to keep track). Smith had requested a Dec 3 2023 start date, Trump requested no trial date but a meeting after the election to see if there will be any trial at all (because he assumes he will be able to just pardon himself) and Trump friendly judge Cannon delayed the trial like Trump requested….to May 20, 2024! Perfect timing for it to be the headlines all summer during the campaign. Good luck running a campaign from the defendants table!

Also we found out the topics of the upcoming charges for Jan 6…1) conspiracy to commit offenses against or defraud the United States 2) witness tampering 3) deprivation of rights under color of law. All 3 serious legal violations with dozens of felonies included under each topic, each carrying serious prison penalties. Smith is no sucker, if he said these are the topics of the crimes he’s investigating, he already has more than enough evidence to convict. Full disclosure, I’m not an EMT, but I do know it takes SOME medical training to be one, and it takes absolutely none to know slamming a near unconscious person in full body physical distress with full force on their face then strapping them face down across the chest so hard it asphyxiates them is something a layman with zero medical training knows is not proper or acceptable or even safe treatment.
This wasn’t a case of being tired or inattentive, IMO….it was a case of, for whatever reason, them being put out and clearly enraged at having to help a black man in full blown alcohol withdrawals, and treating him as a sub human inconvenience rather than a distressed patient needing help.

It varies by state, but in California where I live…. California EMT programs are at least 160 hours and include at least 136 hours of didactic training and at least 24 hours of clinical training. The individual must have 10 patient contacts. An EMT who continues training at the AEMT level must meet additional prerequisites.

That is quickly becoming the plan, and without the filibuster there are enough votes to codify abortion as a federally protected right (not an amendment but a legal right). Not a slam dunk, but looking extremely likely, (and you should be glad, this issue and the extremist laws surrounding it was going to turn the midterms pure blue.)

I can at times be all three, for sure, but it’s not something I would be proud about.

There’s a big difference between verbal confrontation and this.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the bad part of towns, living in East Palo Alto before gentrification, etc. I just kind of expect every random third person to be armed and a powder keg. I used to use Kodak TP-2415 for astrophotrography, and it's the most insanely fincky film I've ever used, with one exception: Fuji made FF slide film for the same purpose that were ISO 10,000. The stuff was so reactive to ANY heat that it came delivered on dry ice and you had to slam the slide into the back of the camera as absolutely fast as you could. The darkroom processing on those slides was best done by someone who dealt with nothing but Fuji -- and not just Velvia.

If you've only shot 400 - 800 35mm, MF and FF is a world you cannot imagine.
