LMFAHS!!!…More projection.
I provide facts, usually with references.
You provide fascist fantasy drivel, lies, and whining diatribes that 9 times out of 10 have been thoroughly debunked before you post them. Remember the red tsunamis, remember how Covid was just a cold and wouldn’t hurt anyone, remember how Jan 6 was all BLM not Trumpists until that fell apart because every single defendant was a maggot and many pleaded guilty, then Jan 6 was a suddenly peaceful tour not a riotous insurrection and they should be allowed to retract their admissions of sedition? You are so incredibly far from having a point to make, ever. Your only point is “red/orange=good, blue/blacks=bad” and that simplicity is still well above your reading level.

Notice you can’t contradict a single letter of my post, as usual, so you just discard everything and deny reality again with a little insult, like infants do. They have the excuse that their brains aren’t formed enough to formulate a cogent thought….is that your excuse?

To you, “dribble” (dribble, not drivel, so I can only assume you intend to convey the idea that I’m “dribbling” the ball right past you on the court/field?. I suppose metaphorically I do dribble, with a connected stream of thoughts and facts from the beginning of each play across the field to the goal. You travel, flail jump skipping from disconnected points to try to score, but tripping up every time)
To the free world outside the cultist veil, it’s not dribble or drivel, it’s a plethora of schadenfreude.
(You claim to have graduated college and you don’t know the difference between dribble and drivel? Was it a college in Somalia?)

PS- Ready to discuss the treasonous traitor Ashley Babbitt, whose existence blows up any number of your fascist fact-free fantasies? I thought not….coward.

PPS- sounds like his ploy to delay his many many trials until 2024 (so he can then say “I’m a candidate for president, you have to wait until 2029 now”) may be falling apart. He got the phone card pyramid scheme (ACN Opportunities) trial delayed until 24 based on his October trial interfering with it being earlier, then he tried to get that October trial delayed, and got caught. Now the pyramid scheme trial judge has given him just weeks to convince her he’s not playing her or get a 2023 trial date reset.

How Does A Hit And Miss Engine Work?

4 Revolutionary Riddles

Are you sure about that? Let's say the track is 100m for simplicity's sake and you run it at 1m/s (so 100s).
If you ran the second loop 3 times faster, you run it at 3m/s and it would take 33.3s.
So, total time and distance is 200m in 133.3s at an average speed of 1.5m/s.

I think it's impossible.

Even if you ran the second loop 100000 times faster, your total time would be 100.001s and average speed would be 1.99998m/s.

It would only ever approach 2V1.

Unless there's something about rotational velocity (as opposed to speed) that I'm missing. Quite possible, given it's been a long time since I did any physics.

james o'keefe and project veritas are reknowned in their deceptions and their so-called 'gotcha" shenanigans.

and when i say "shenanigans",i mean clever editing to create a false premise that suits a political agenda.in this case:republicans.

o'keefe is not the first to kneel at the altar of political money, and suck the cock of his masters, simply to buy his way into the powered elites outhouse, located on the very edge of the property.(oooh i am being sassy today).

we can look back at the tea party and literally watch dick army, former congressman turned lobbyist (shocker right there),single handedly change the direction of an entire movement to serve the needs and desires of HIS masters,by the creation of "americans for prosperity".

i am not kidding.
go check it out.
when the original tea party started their message was very similar to the occupy wall street movement in 2011,but dick army and his merry band of fuckheads, manipulated the leadership from outrage against:big banks, wall street and the horrendous malfeasance of rumsfelds department of defense (still looking for that 1 trillion dollars of tax payer money)..

to...

big government and the democrats.

it was quite impressive in its simplicity and brilliance.
reprehensible and grotesque,but impressive.

we can even look at the private organization of the DNC,and how they openly attempted to undermine bernie sanders campaign.a man who was running on THEIR ticket for fuck sakes!

i seem to be on a kick today in regards to people who sell their integrity for cash.for access.for influence.

it appears john carpenters "they live" was not just a simple,cheesy,sci-fi movie but rather a documentary.

Computer Nightmares, China USB hub kills PC by design

They have without doubt some of the most quality engineered laptops on the planet. I have a Macbook and my wife has an Asus Macbook clone (straight down to the silver-polish finish). And yes, hers cost less and has a dedicated GPU so she could play games on it (if she had any interest in games) but the Macbook is lighter, keeps the battery charged longer, has a much more beautiful display (Retina vs Full Hd), is much more comfortable to type with, and the touchpad is just freaking heaven to use. I now hate having to use touchpads on any Windows laptop, even my bootcamped Mac!

And you hit the nail on the head about using the right tool for the right job--I work with video as part of my job sometimes and I don't think I can ever go back to video editing on a Windows machine. I can do it easier and faster on an OSX device.

I think also the initial outward simplicity of Mac operating systems makes them ideal for people who don't want to or don't have time to become "computer people" and worry about dealing with downloading the latest drivers or all of the other BS that you need to constantly deal with on a Windows machine. I especially wish my dad, who is constant calling me and my brother for help with his PC, would just switch over to a Mac as it would solve probably 95% of the issues he calls us about.

China's gamified new system for keeping citizens in line

enoch says...

@Asmo
i get what you are saying but i think you are missing the insidious implications that this new system of indoctrination represents.

i think @ChaosEngine's term 'stealth totalitarianism" is rather clever..and apt.

i agree with you on the points of peer pressure and how people can easily be manipulated.we are all,to varying degrees, subjected to a plethora of propaganda and targeted rhetoric, all meant to mold and shape our opinions in order to sustain the status quo while giving the impression that somehow our conclusions are an organic and natural response, when in reality we have been duped.

on that point we agree that this is not actually something new or novel but an old, tried and true method of social control.

what is new about this 'gaming" system,is that it is not taking the more subtle and passive approach of what current and supposedly "free" societies now implement to control public opinions and attitudes in order to either remain in power, sway the public into policies against their own interest,or create an atmosphere of fear to foment opposition.

this new system is actually aggressive.
this system will actively use its own population to do the oppressing, manipulating and controlling FOR them.

it is brilliant in it's simplicity.
it will use very human attributes we all possess in order to enact a better system of control, all the while having the appearance of being a harmless and innocuous social media competition.

but it is anything but harmless.
nor innocuous.
it will and can affect every facet of someones life.from their job to where they will be able to live,to even HOW they live.

think back to the times of east germany and the stasi,or the weimar republic,or even the soviet union of the 80's.

all used elements this new gaming system is representing, but those systems of control, while relying on the public to do much of its surveilling, all had one thing in common that they ALL relied heavily on:fear.

fear of reprisal.
fear of exposure.
fear and suspicion were the driving forces that kept those systems in power and the people in a perpetual state of paranoia.

the dread of the midnight knock.
of jackboots and black bags.

but those systems of control were fragile and once even a little resistance was exerted those systems crumbled incredibly fast.

this new system is far more subtle and devious in my opinion, because it removes the spectre of an imposing and oppressive government that will respond with violence and replaces it with the citizen to do the work for them.

the government does not have to do anything.
your neighbor will, and not because of some fear-based reason but rather for points to propel their own ambitions.their own selfish desires.

the wholesale implications are absolutely terrifying if you really think about it.

i would speculate that within a very short amount of time dissent and criticism of the chinese government will all but have vanished.replaced by a obedient and compliant population.

not because they are afraid of reprisal from the government but rather fueled by their own selfish desires for a better job, better living quarters, more privileges etc etc.

so a seemingly benign system utilizing social media will become of a self-propelled system, where those who do not tow the party line soon face joblessness, homelessness and ostracization.

not because the government strong armed them into submission, but rather their own neighbors.

so you are right.
there is nothing new here, but this system has taken the old forms of social control and brilliantly utilized one of humanities greatest weaknesses:selfishness.

it is the simplicity that makes this so brilliant and yet so horrifying at the same time.

Is reality real? Call of Duty May Have the Answer

dannym3141 says...

A computer big enough to accurately calculate the position and properties of every "particle" (and ever decreasing subdivisions of energy and matter) would need to be the size of the universe in the first place. We can't even simulate enough particles in an n-body simulation to match the number of stars in a galaxy, let alone individual molecules, or shall we go further and say atoms, or further and say protons, neutrons and electrons? And that's for ONE galaxy amongst hundreds of billions in the OBSERVABLE universe... using only ONE force - gravity!

The guy has a great point about the Big Bang - a billion billion galaxies worth of matter and energy created in a split second from nothing? Doesn't sound like like the conservation of energy that is so fundamental to physics, right? But that's no reason to throw out hundreds of years of evidence and research which has proven conservation of energy to be true since then. The big bang makes the most sense given what we see today... if you want to propose a better theory, it has to make more sense than the Big Bang theory. Saying that the big bang doesn't make sense is not an appropriate starting point for a new theory, and doesn't lead to "so therefore we're in a simulation."

And it's not good enough to appeal to simplicity like @robdot is doing - basically saying that everything we see could very easily be an illusion for our benefit. That's an argument for God, in my opinion... just like how religious fanatics say "it was God's will for this to happen" we'd instead say "well, that's what the simulation wanted to show us" and call it a day. Furthermore if the manifestations of physical laws out there in the universe are illusions, they are at least consistent illusions that we can calculate and predict. And in that case, what is the difference to our lives whether we call it "reality" or "simulation" or "computer"? It it still what we always knew it was. If something created our universe and allowed it to run like a simulation, it is almost certainly intangible to us and for all intents and purposes meaningless too, because we can't touch, feel, see or understand it on any level.

This is one of the topics i asked of my favourite professor - how can we trust what we see if it could be faked, and what exists beyond our universe? His answer was, if i have to doubt what i see, i might as well not do anything at all, and if you want an answer to the second question talk to a philosopher. This is a philosophical discussion, not a scientific one. The scientific method doesn't care what you call the place you live in nor "who" we think "created" it. You can't hope to understand anything if you don't base it on the evidence you have. You certainly can't form a theory on the basis that all evidence is untrustworthy.

Love the concept - don'tt believe the simplicity. The bit where he types is just insane - like he is using both analog inputs at once to aim separately.

Plus maybe it's the lighting but the "thumbnail" hands look so photo shopped it's unreal (or should I say source).

New Method For Making Wood Corners For Drawers Or Boxes

AeroMechanical says...

Very cool and very clever, but if the goal is speed and simplicity what makes it better than cutting a v-groove with a router and folding that together? Is it that much stronger? Seems like something worth patenting, but unless the shape isn't as relatively arbitrary as it seems, surely there is some variation on it that's better in some way, and could you patent that? Seems like it might be jumping the gun to announce it before iterating the design and perhaps applying some computer analysis.

Would Headlights Work at Light Speed?

grahamslam says...

I'd love to get in on this conversation because this subject really interests me. This video touched on a lot of interesting theories.

@robdot - I don't understand people who think they "know" the answers to the universe. There are unanswered questions in every model. Do you know the answer to what dark matter and energy is? Nobody has yet detected it. Yet, our "universe" is supposedly filled with the stuff.

Let's also define what a universe is. My definition is; it's a place governed by the same set of physical laws.

So we have "our" universe, that we hypothesize about through our observations and measurements. We have theories that say "other" universes exist in some form or another. If their physical laws are different then ours, there would probably be no way to observe them, and therefore no way to prove their existence. Lack of proof is not proof that it doesn't exist.

I could write a book on what i "think" about what our universe is. For simplicity, let me just say that I moved from telecom engineering to software architect. In software, we create programs to run simulations. We create vast game worlds with whatever "physical" attributes we want to program into them. Lets assume we created artificial intelligence. In what context would "it" live? Most everyone assumes it would just be one conscience interacting with us in the form of a robot (Que cheesy Hollywood films).

Let's give it the power of quantum computing. It then decides to understand us (it's creator), it needs to program a simulation that mimics all it knows about our physical world. It wouldn't make one simulation, run it and be done. It would make many simulations, probably simultaneously, tweaking each new one based on the results of the previous ones.

Just imagine where this could lead. This intelligence could figure out how to create a multitude of different, very elegant universes. Its time scale would be different then our time. It's simulation could take seconds on its viewing scale, but appear to be billions of years when observing from within it. We have the power to pause, rewind, replay, tweak our simple creations. Imagine what this super intelligence could do with theirs?
