Ahh, the Shatman. The student centre at my university is named for him you know. As for the avatar, that was just from some really old online game, back in '97 I think, that I never actually played -- I just liked the look of him. And the rest, as they say, is history.

when I think of razor thin satire, where you're not sure if it's a joke, I think of Andy Kaufman, but with him, eventually you see there is a mind behind the satire, and you are let in on the joke.

I don't think, at least in the late 70s, that the Shatman was performing this kind of razor-thin satire. I like him, but I think you give him to much credit.
