Palestinian UN Ambassador At UN

newtboy says...

Hint- Not being 100% free of fear is no excuse for becoming the invading Nazis themselves. The Nazis used fear of the other as an excuse for expansionist inhumanity too….it’s not one.
Having lived through fascist oppression one would think they would be vehemently opposed to it, but they are instead relishing it.
Look at Netanyahu’s face when he talks about crushing and eradicating Palestinians, he’s really enjoying it.

If your group is suddenly being lambasted from all sides, you might consider why, not just whine that it’s unfair and scary. There’s good reason for rising anti Zionist sentiment today…and many on both sides aren’t bright enough to distinguish that from anti Jewish sentiment.

In some places, the six pointed star is the most prevalent symbol of murderous fascist hatred. Guaranteed it’s freshly painted on hundreds of flattened buildings today, many with dead children still inside. That’s a bit worse than a kid’s provocative tag under an overpass. Other recent instances include mosques burnt down and tagged with star of Davids. Don’t get it twisted, don’t excuse violence over fear.

Another total Santos style fraud, MAGA Republican Andy Ogles. Look him up.
His entire bio is pure fiction, just like Santos/Devolver and Trump.
This IS MAGA. MAGA has always been a fraud by con men.

Shocking…and exactly what I told you at the time…the righty talking heads that sold you the election fraud fraud and set the stage for Trump’s failed coup NEVER believed the lies, but knew you were stupid, ignorant, and gullible enough to believe anything they said as long as they accused and abused liberals.
They suckered you bigly. You ate every lie they fed you with relish. You will never admit it or apologize, because you aren’t a real man.

Chaos erupts at LA City Hall as council votes to ban homeles

newtboy says...

I don’t live in LA….

We do have a homeless guy living in the neighborhood, down by the river (but no van) for years now….he cleans the streets of trash, keeps the gutters clean, and watches for late night crime, so no, I have no problem having homeless on my street, just like I had no problem hosting a homeless friend in my home for 6 months before letting him park and live in his airstream in my back yard for almost 7 years until he adopted an aggressive dog. I also donate fresh produce to food banks for the homeless constantly. I’ve done way more than my fair share, friendo. How about you?

There’s a big difference between accepting those here anyway and making the best of the situation and actively inviting more. Even well below normal intelligence people understand that, but you seem to not.

Rich…on $35k a year for two….in California. Well, that’s as based in reality as everything you say, so congrats on consistency….consistent insanity.

California on the other hand has a near $100 billion surplus, so we could build MORE facilities for addicts, mentally challenged/ill, and those who just had bad luck or no opportunities….if not for nimby asshats like this city council.

Funny, you thought them totally insane for suggesting housing homeless in hotels (without the option to opt out), which was the carrot part of this plan, but you relish the criminalization of being homeless, the stick. Pretty chicken shit and cowardly to pick on those who can’t defend themselves.

There was a proposed low income housing project 1 block away from me I didn’t oppose, but it fell through because there are absolutely no services and not even public transport here.

bobknight33 said:

Great so you have no problem having this near your local school or even on your street or front lawn?

You a better person that most.

Go post a sign Homeless -- my yard is available.

Why can't California build space for these people or facilities for those with drug addition/ mental illness . Just add another gas tax or such. California people are rich, like you. Do you fair share

Kid hides from police in Bend

newtboy says...

Yes, when Bob repeatedly seems to relish minority kids being shot for running, or mouthing off, or complying with police orders but not fast enough for them, blaming the victims for their own murders, it is kind of hateful.

When he then congratulates white kids for successfully running from the cops, it's almost certainly racial hate.

BSR said:

That's kind of hateful.

Couldn't it just be that Bob simply admires someone that is good at hiding from their fears? Makes Bob feel so not alone?

Reps Jim Jordan & Trey Gowdy Question Rod Rosenstein

newtboy says...

Odd that the part where it's a pure product of the RNC is so easily and completely forgotten because it ended up in someone else's hands late in the game.

You mean like when anti Clinton agents actually leaked their biased "evidence" against Clinton repeatedly (like the emails that weren't new or evidence of a thing that those anti Clinton agents presented as evidence of wrongdoing days before the election) with text/email trails degrading her in a similar way, but who weren't removed from that investigation in stark contrast to this investigation....that bias? You relished it then and defended it vehemently.

Um...that label was directed at Mr Jordan who was feigning outrage throughout this video and is undeniably a useless partisan dumbass, but if the shoe fits.....

Edit: lol, fusion GPS, an investigative company hired by the RNC in an effort to save itself from Trump.....Faux News' newest red herring, following a long line of red herrings.....Vince Foster, Benghazi, email scandal, birther movement, secret Muslim, death panels, pizzagate, uranium one.....how many alleged scandals have to fall apart before you realize they're incapable of truth?

bobknight33 said:

True the RNC started it but the DNC pick it up finished it was used.

Nevermind that the FBI agent working n Clinton case and his wife working for Fusion GPS ,,, Yep this fact does not exist.

Never mind the absolute bias of these agents.

Nope nothing to see here. Nope not at all.

The fact that you called me "fucking usless partisan dumbass."
how blinded you are. Closed minded bigot you are.

Bill Maher - Punching Nazis

ChaosEngine says...

"I referred to the modern nazi who supports them"

Fair enough.

"It's not just a belief, it's a desire to exterminate, alienate and persecute an ethnic group. "
Agreed. That desire should not be considered an acceptable point of view. But there's a big gap between saying expressing a desire and carrying out an action.

"This implies that you think being 'nicer to Hitler' (i.e. not solved it with violence) would have gotten rid of them yet you contradict this later on."
No, I don't believe that. Hitler was in power, he had an army and he was already committing genocide. At that point, violence is your only recourse to stop the atrocities.

But yes, ultimately, if someone had been able to take Hitler aside BEFORE all the horrors of WW2 and been able to convince him to lay off the genocide, wouldn't that have been a better solution?

There are absolutely times when violence is the best course of action, but it ALWAYS represents a failure to resolve differences.

"I'm just saying if a nazi happens to get punched, on balance, it's probably ok."

I'm certainly not going to shed any tears over it and being completely honest, part of me relishes it. But intellectually, I know it's a) not a sustainable solution and b) it's a juvenile response.

"It's a bit like trying to 'defeat' religion. If you stamped out any sign of all religions in the world, all the imagery and documents and let's say memories too. Before long, religions would form because the human brain is drawn to those ideologies"

Completely agree. Put enough humans together and they form tribes and ascribe bad things to "the others". What saves us is the ability to learn from past mistakes as a civilisation, and even then we're REALLY slow learners.

But we have made progress.
Going from right to left, I would bet that even most Nazis think women should be able to vote; the vast majority of conservatives view racism as abhorrent (at least, consciously) and "Middle America" has mostly come around to gay rights.

"Defeated" might be the wrong word here. I want Nazism to become as laughable a philosophy as flat earthers. Espousing it should be met with the same response as someone who claims thunder is the gods playing football.

" TL;DR sorry for the wall of text, ignore me"

Don't apologise... it's an interesting discussion.

Atheist Angers Christians With Bible Verse

newtboy says...

I don't think he cares so much about the hatred, he may even relish it.

I'm thinking that if he made it clear he's criticizing the bible, he would avoid the anger of non/less religious people that are offended by the verse, but garner the more dangerous hatred of zealots enraged at a slight against their belief system...he's unlikely to get them to critically examine it either way.
Thought about that way, he was being smart by being misleading. ;-)

entr0py said:

Exactly, it's natural to assume he's endorsing that bible passage and not criticizing it.

If he made it clear he's just pointing out crazy biblical shit most people aren't aware of, he'd get a lot less hate.

Greg Gianforte, Trump and the First Amendment

newtboy says...

No.
It shows us a pitfall of early voting. Most, the vast majority of votes, were cast before he assaulted the reporter.
He was always expected to win by a landslide both before and after he lost it on tape and blatantly lied about it assuming the Fox reporters would lie with him, but they didn't.
Because of early voting, last minute surprises like this barely matter....unless he gets the maximum sentence, which is appropriate. If ever there was someone the courts should use to set an example with, it's a violent elected official.

That's not to say he would have lost if early voting wasn't the norm there. Republicans have totally sacrificed their morality and rationality on the altar of partisanship. Like Trump said, they could murder people publicly in cold blood and not lose votes. This means they're fine electing people who display this kind of total lack of self control and poor decision making processes along with a proven willingness to bold faced lie to the public to represent us as long as the tie they wear is red.
It's far less about Democrats, the minority there, than it is about a total lack of civility, honesty, or basic self control in Republican leaders and their voters accepting that, even relishing it.

And btw, Democrats ARE Americans....since you're confused again.

Gianforte won even with the body slam. How funny.

Just shows how much the Democrats are out of touch with Americans.

NYC's Best Burger, Explained

TheFreak says...

Meh, I would have had to watch more than 15 seconds of that video to really reply thoughtfully to your comment. Turns out, 15 seconds is all it took to realize the presenter was full of shit.

:-)

I feel no shame for eating cheese. I feel no shame for eating the eggs that my backyard chickens produce. I don't even feel shame when I occasionally have to wring one for getting sick or old...I just don't relish the necessity.
I didn't feel shame when I ate the freezer full of beef from the cow my kids had named. (Man-Eating-Cow, if you're interested)

I do have shame in my life. Any life lived fully and introspectively will include some moments of shame. But none of those moments have anything to do with consuming the food my body needs to survive. Or even the foods I don't need to survive...but really enjoy.

Sure, but an opioid addict would say the same thing, and remain close minded about the reality of the situation.

There is a difference between addiction and truly enjoying a hobby, and the video I linked explains it very well.

Oritteropo hits galaxy (Sift Talk Post)

PlayhousePals says...

Oh how I relish in a Galaxy reveal! My buddy and sift pal 'Aard' has been so helpful and kind that this one is especially delectable. Yummy

Gotta say that's a stellar job Chris Murphy did on the badge and icon. Once again ... nailed it!! Out of this realm and beyond as has come to be expected.

And @dag ... you are a star baby! First, thank you so much for the *how to pronounce* @oritteropo lesson [you don't want to know, nor can I adequately describe what I was hearing in my head]. Second, the song / video amaze and make me smile. Then again, I'm easy to please when it comes to people I've taken a shine to. I love the Sift!
