Quick question I often pose to people that don't trust police. If there were a different legal attitude towards prohibition, especially of drugs, do people suppose their attitude towards officers would change? I find that most often distrust of police stems from discomfort with the validity of the laws they are enforcing. I suppose there is also this sense of abusive authority types, i.e. the guys attracted to the gig for the badge and gun. Still, I think most people's trust is undermined by the law, not the enforcement. I find that most cops are professional and polite if you show them the courtesy of treating them like polite professionals. This is a case where I have absolutely no problem with officers being a bit heavy handed in their enforcement. Given the severity of the allegations, a miss would be a more costly error than a false alarm. They could have done without the taser and the obstruction charges though. That was just retaliatory.

We understand you're super spiritual and don't need "evidence" or "reason" to come to ironclad delu..er.. conclusions about what is just and reasonable.


I think it's reasonable to expect police action when you have just been warned it is imminent.

No, I don't believe that. I believe that all authority comes from God and we have a moral duty to obey it, except when it contradicts His direct commands.

Tho most of the folks you debate with,however, have morality based on.. reasons,earnest evaluation,empathy.

You should be more worried about where your soul is going, because unless you place your trust in Jesus as Lord, you will face Gods judgement and end up there yourself.

Quick questions - Was this in slow motion? If so, I would have liked to see it sped up.


Not slow-mo at all. I have one of these, and the sequence you witnessed typically takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the size of the prey.

I know there is gray area here.
I also understand it's, historically, the definition of a group of people originally based in religion so your definition makes sense.
I've never understood ethnicity. a few hundred years ago, perhaps it would have made more sense, but in the world I've grown up in, especially in Canada, we are all mixed together and I don't see any differences between us. Maybe that's why the lines are becoming so blurred. It's no longer where are you from, more like what religion are you. People are always looking for terms to break everyone into groups.

I've read this is one of the downfalls of man. the need to separate and label everything instead of just looking at it as one thing. This goes for everything. No matter what it is, there is always another breakdown and everything gets a label.

I think Dr Seuss had the point when he created the story of the The Sneetches

Well, while it's not a nationality, to me, being a Jew is both an ethnicity and a religion. As an Atheist I reject the religious ideas, but I see it more not as a religion designed to spread and gain followers, but rather to keep the ethnic group together through customs, holidays and that stuff.

I was raised Jewish, but with a very light emphasis on religion, and I've decided I don't believe in God or whatever when I was around 9-10 years old. I'm still Jewish, though, because to me the actual religion is the side-effect.
