HEROES!
Follow their example, please. Everyone will be happier.

You could go fight Joe’s woke agenda in Ukraine for the glory of the motherland…assuming you survive your initial transfer to the gulag. No, really, give it a shot…there’s no woke in Siberia, Putin says there’s no homosexuals or trans people, no furries in schools, Christianity as the (until recently) state religion, booming economy, great grocery stores, almost entirely white…you’re going to love it. It’s a MAGA paradise. Tucker just proved it conclusively, so much better than America. I’ll even pay for your taxi to the airport.

Er Mer Gerd…analysis shows that Trump branded properties sank below market value in 2016 and plummeted further behind in 2020, never regaining that lost value, meaning the brand premium he’s relied on to inflate property values is now a shackle that lowers their value considerably which matters since NY may seize them and sell at today’s value including that deflation…properties that removed the Trump brand name have seen significant improvements.

Hint- Not being 100% free of fear is no excuse for becoming the invading Nazis themselves. The Nazis used fear of the other as an excuse for expansionist inhumanity too….it’s not one.
Having lived through fascist oppression one would think they would be vehemently opposed to it, but they are instead relishing it.
Look at Netanyahu’s face when he talks about crushing and eradicating Palestinians, he’s really enjoying it.

If your group is suddenly being lambasted from all sides, you might consider why, not just whine that it’s unfair and scary. There’s good reason for rising anti Zionist sentiment today…and many on both sides aren’t bright enough to distinguish that from anti Jewish sentiment.

In some places, the six pointed star is the most prevalent symbol of murderous fascist hatred. Guaranteed it’s freshly painted on hundreds of flattened buildings today, many with dead children still inside. That’s a bit worse than a kid’s provocative tag under an overpass. Other recent instances include mosques burnt down and tagged with star of Davids. Don’t get it twisted, don’t excuse violence over fear.

Undercover: EXPOSING MAGA Hypocrisy on Afghanistan

luxintenebris says...

Hypocrisy is thy name.

Or at least it is widespread in the ranks of the GOP poodles.

Shortlist of their duality...

- Worry about the Afghani women but shut down US women's access to LEGAL medical services.
- Want to bring education to Afghanistan but oppose school curriculum here in the US. (i.e. their head is their Allah)
- Want Small Government (less interference) but use their power as Big Government to override local LEGAL authority.
- As Ayn Rand-ites, say the individual is important, but any difference of opinion brings banishment.
- Say government doesn't work, they get elected, then don't work.
- Say the Unborn deserve the right to live, but health services for ALL Americans go for a premium. (bring them in but take no responsibility for them - and still believe they hold the moral high ground)

...and it goes on and on and on...they say one thing; do another.

Would guess BK33 and TT both are English Only types as one reads their posts, it would only be fitting.

David Cross: Why America Sucks at Everything

bcglorf says...

@eric3579 had it right, because the first link looks like the source:
https://www.peoplespolicyproject.org/2019/04/08/us-workers-are-highly-taxed-when-you-count-health-premiums/

But when that source lists the graph that Cross used as "labor tax", it is listed as coming from OECD NTCP, with NTCP standing for "Non-Tax Compulsary Payments" and has the same 11% for Canada and other numbers. So, the OECD 'original' source of the data is 100% excluding Federal and State/Provincial income taxes, and potentially sales taxes as well.

So with that knowledge, yeah, gross misrepresentation.

And it gets worse in that peoplespolicyproject is showing 2017 numbers, so maybe that is the only difference... But they list Belgium at 38.3% while the OECD current 2019 data shows 44.5, so maybe some year-year change, but the US data from OECD for 2019 comes in at 24.1%, and at the least in the middle of EU countries while whatever source ppp used pegged Us at 43%.

So not only is it deceptive in describing it as 'tax' when the numbers are expressly sourced from NonTax data(named as such), it's also at BEST number that can double or drop by half within 2 years as well and so maybe not a great policy benchmark either unless you average out multiple years at minimum

newtboy said:

I thought the same thing. If average Canadians only paid 11% total in taxes Canada would have been forced to build a wall to stop all the republicans trying to move there.

Ahhh.....Thanks @eric3579 . He's taking what they called "labor tax" which apparently is some nonsense number they produced that, while it includes employee income and payroll tax as well as employer contributions, is somehow far less than employee income and payroll taxes alone in Canada, labor tax is listed at 11.5% with the next lowest being the UK at 26.1%. Somebody screwed up here, their numbers don't add up.

Biden Has A Lot To Boast About In New Covid Relief Bill

bobknight33 says...

9% for the American people
$1400 each if earned under 75K/ear or $2800 of married under 150k$/year.

At $75K/year you really don't need this $ or at least could get by with out it.

then comes the remaining 91% for programs and pork.
Schools don't need this $.

Free premiums if under 150% poverty rate -- ok.

However if 1400 represents 10% of the 1.9 trillion when would it not be better spent if each got $14,000 each or $28K for the family and let each family decide how to spent this money. LEt teh people decide their needs on what to pay for Healthcare mortgage, rent car payment etc.

End of the day Americans got $1400 and a tax bill for 1.9 Trillion.

Again, Americans got screwed.

Tazed Repeatedly For Social Distancing

surfingyt says...

totally agree. right now the only way to get them irritated is their insurance premiums become too high, hence defund the police, however ideally it comes directly from the cop or the pension.

newtboy said:

While I agree, he should get paid handsomely for this abuse, I, for one, am getting pretty tired of paying higher taxes that go to pay for these payouts. I think they should come out of the police (or in this case, park ranger) pension funds, then when they're gone, union coffers, then payroll, equipment funds, and lastly from state government discretionary funding. Not one penny more should be given out until all police funding is exhausted. You would see these incidents drop to zero if that were the case, and these officers wouldn't ever get rehired because they are liabilities to the bank accounts of any force that hires them.

I don't think American hospitals would give up an opportunity to make obscene amounts of money for basic care let alone intensive care.

Having them pay insurance premiums or be put in a separate insurance category (high risk fuckwit) would probably make more sense.

newtboy said:

That's why I support using facial recognition to identify these irresponsible inconsiderate ignoramuses and create a database any hospital can use to deny them Covid care, and that responsible people who get infected can use to identify and sue any Covid Marys.
If they insist on putting everyone at risk over their belief that it's not dangerous, they should be forced to live with any repercussions that might arise.

Cop Drives Man Over 100 Miles After Traffic Stop ...

newtboy jokingly says...

Will do.....

Worst case scenario?
$50 an hour X 2 for goldentime X 8 hours (drove slow and waited for the man) +15 gallons of premium gas ($4 where I live, but let's say $2.50) + incidental wear and tear ($5?) =$842.50 / 150000000 taxpayers = $.0000056.

Now I'm really pissed, I had no idea it might be that much.

Honestly I would gladly give him a dollar for doing it if he did it at his own expense...which he may have. I'm not accusing him of anything, just outlining one reasonable possibility.

Sesame Street: Respect is Coming

newtboy says...

Well...I tried to like it, and watched the first 4 episodes this winter....one kid pushed off a building was the extent of the violence I recall. After Vikings, I was expecting more.
I told my wife to find me an episode with action, not just drama...she tried starting at season 7, which started well with a mass poisoning (quickly ruined for me with a Mission Impossible style mask removal...WHAT?!), but nothing else. Maybe she just chose poorly, but I still wasn't impressed. I want some blood eagles or better with a minimum of two protracted gruesome deaths or a medium to enormous bloody battle per episode to feel I've gotten satisfactory ultra violence, I wasn't overly impressed with the few sex scenes I've seen either.

I never watched House Of Cards, just wasn't interested in a political drama, I see far more of that than I ever wanted in real life now.
So yeah, I don't think it's for me....that's fine, most popular shows aren't. What I've seen so far was fantasy soap opera more than action. If basic cable can give me semi-historical brutal live organ removals, hundreds of bloody deaths, and three ways, I expect the same or better from premium cable.

ChaosEngine said:

So I’ll grant you the fantasy monsters and soft core porn, but the violence is definitely a hard R.

Besides, there’s a lot more to the show than that. GoT at its best is medieval House of Cards. It has great characters and a pretty intricate plot.

It’s not perfect, and of course, you don’t have to like it, but dismissing it as tits and dragons just isn’t fair.

Deadlocked Bench Vice is Perfectly Restored

diego says...

guy spends more than just time on these restorations, he spends a good bit on paints and parts, what is impressive here is the result.

Its always going to be cheaper/easier to get a chinese knock off, but really the most impressive thing about these vids for me is how well made old stuff was. Premium shit was meant to last multiple generations. For most product niches nowadays, makers that care about durability are few and far between, on the contrary, designers and engineers have been punished by greed and beancounters doing a good job for their masters for committing the sin of making something that doesnt need to be replaced

The Untold History of EA's Long Pay-2-Win Love Affair

this feels much like what the airline industry is doing; recently I bought an American airline ticket or so I thought... the ticket I thought I was buying had a ton of ridiculous restrictions so I ended up paying another 30$ to be able to pick my seat, not get on the plane last, be able to use the overhead bin, ... and from there, they had charges for the premium seats which 5 years ago were first come first served

Fuck the Lord. I'd rather me and my children burn in Hell for all eternity than be around his people for all eternity. People who'd rather help the rich than help the needy and poor. People who'd rather see my child with Asthma die than have their tax money or insurance premiums go up so that he could be covered. People who are so full of hate they favor Nazis over black people. Because none of them have any convection in their heart over any of that. They voted for a guy like Trump, thinking that is what Jesus would do. Fuck his people, and fuck him if he won't convict them over their anti-christ ways... which is what the whole Republican party is, the anti-christ... if there were such a thing.

Colbert To Trump: 'Doing Nothing Is Cowardice'

scheherazade says...

If you're gonna load 5 mags at the range, you could just load 1 mag 5 times at the range.

I suppose you would have whatever mags you own loaded. Otherwise there's no use in having more than 1.

For some people it's their main hobby. There's some expensive premium stuff out there.
If I wanted to hemorrhage money, I could probably drop 10k on a rifle build.
Heck, here's 3k on just a scope : https://www.usoptics.com/product-category/optics/

Side note, but you wouldn't normally keep thousands of rounds all loaded in extended mags....and this guy didn't pinch any pennies either.

Colbert To Trump: 'Doing Nothing Is Cowardice'

scheherazade says...

Either way, he brought plenty more than needed.

Sidenote :
Everyone who shoots regularly (sport, not hunting) has thousands of rounds.
A 1k brick of 223 is ~28c per shot.
If you buy boxes of 20 each at the range, you're gonna pay closer to ~50c per shot.
If you go to the range 2x per month, firing 200 rounds per trip (6 or 7 mags worth), that's 2.5 months to empty a 1k brick.
~110 bucks/month if you buy 1k at a time.
~200 bucks/month if you buy individual boxes at the range.
The choice is simple. 1k bricks to save money.
So if you have 5 different caliber rifles, you have 5 1k bricks.
This is one of those "out of touch" sort of things with TV coverage. They make it sound like thousands of rounds is a lot to have.

Granted, I know hunters that have 40 rounds to their name, and it will take them 10 years to shoot all 40. One shot at season start to check zero. Then 1 or 2 more to take 1 or 2 deer. But they don't like to shoot, they like to hunt.

I googled 'rapid fire triggers'.

Geissele, Timney, Hypertouch, these are all normal triggers.
They are premium offerings. Smooth, low grit, low creep, clean crisp break.
They don't actually have any function that artificially increases rate of fire.
The marketing can fool you if you don't know what they are.
(It's like buying a "no name mouse" vs a "gamer mouse". One feels better, but you still click just as fast.)

Tac Con 3MR does have its own gimmick. It does a partial reset on every fire. Your finger still has to move forward and back to fire again, so you're still limited by your reaction time. In reviews it's no different than a normal trigger rate of fire wise.

4473 just asks if you've ever been convicted of a felony that could (not did) have had a 1 year sentence. That's a pretty broad set.

AFAIK, they all screw your right to vote. I could be wrong.

Note :
Sorry about edits mid your reply.
I have a habit of "word processing" in place - out of fear that I'll click back or something and lose my text.

Just Google rapid fire trigger.

Edit: most minor felonies can be expunged, and they come in classes, a, b, and c.
