There are no Republicans left. MAGA RINOs ate the party, no true Republican would still call themselves one.
My mother voted 100% Republican her entire lifetime, but started being disillusioned by Bush jr (she campaigned for Sr) and more so by Palin. She, like many others, says she didn’t leave the party, it left her.

I agree Russia is going to lose here…already has by many measures. I just hope American soldiers don’t end up doing the fighting or things will get out of control FAST. We are not well known for our restraint or de escalation and don’t want to be in direct conflict with a nuclear power. Fighting them by proxy is the pest possible fight for us, we should be pouring ammo into Ukraine as fast as they can shoot it or we will end up spending way more. Ukraine is the first step in Putin’s Soviet restoration plans, not the last.

Trump and Sarah palin talk exactly alike. Broken sentences with thoughts and words that often don’t even relate to each other. Much of what both those people ever said actually made any sense.

His religious beliefs may be nearly as insane, but Palin had every intention of making her insane hypocritical beliefs the law of the land, Romney doesn't. Also, I don't recall Romney walking out 1/2 way through a job he was elected for to try to be elected to another job, do you? I also don't recall him using his religion as a cudgle to abuse and deride his political enemies, then conveniently forgetting them when he and his family fail to live up to the same standards.

I respect McCain's service, valor, and civility, but I also blame McCain for making bat shit crazy candidates acceptable to the far right. IMO, the party that ate him alive was no longer his party, it was the Trump party, which bears no resemblance to the Republican party of pre 2016. They wouldn't accept religious-nut-writhing-on-the-ground-chanting Sarah Palin. Today they would worship her as the most intelligent woman in America if Trump said they should.

Romney is almost as bad as Palin in that regard. Just saying.

John McCain was someone who I loathed mostly for picking that religious-nut-writhing-on-the-ground-chanting Sarah Palin. Genuine policy disagreements and VP pick aside though, he was a patriotic American and highlights just what a traitor this president and his supporters are to this country in comparison.

That said, he spent 5 years being tortured in Vietnam rather than leaving immediately because he refused to leave without his fellow American captors.

John McCain was and remains an honorable person and a patriotic American who cared about his own.

I'm a big fan of monty python and I recognized the name but couldnt figure out who Palin was until they showed the monty python clip, had no idea he was a journalist now.
Ive always thought that NK has been unfairly demonized; they were victims of imperialism and the cold war, and sabre rattling aside they havent actually gotten into any wars beyond their own independence/civil war. The food shortages and poverty, I believe the western powers have a big hand in (much like in Cuba, Chile, Venezuela, and everywhere else capitalism was shunned). Not saying i'd model my ideal society on them, but i dont think they are as evil as they are made out to be..

Remember, this guy is the reason Mc Cain went with Palin. He's pretty far to the right... now of course the Trumpers will claim Mc Cain isn't to the right at all and betrayed the country... and this guy is now doing the same... because any criticism of Trump is somehow bad, even within his own party. He didn't exactly create it. The know-nothing, faith-based, "team" before the good of the country wing of the Republicans was always there. He picked Palin because he thought it would encourage them to come out and vote. Instead it turned out to be the breath of air they needed to turn into a wildfire that threatens the state of the republic.

The Love of Christ everyone. A continuing shinning example of why I hate the faith. Treat others as you'd have others treat you. Anyhow, I agree, no need for a ban, at least yet, though that is a new low, but in line with the rest of the Trump supporters. It again, just shows how evil and vile the faith is, because that's what they actually think Christ would act like, do and say, and have zero conviction in their heart otherwise. The modern right is the biggest reason cited why people leave the faith or are turned off by the faith, so the more Trump supporters dig in, the more and more people will leave the faith. Hopefully they'll turn to reason, or Paganism, anything but stick to a faith where they are happy at the death of a man who served his nation far better than the man they praise. As to Bob himself, I don't know if he's just a troll or what, my issue has never been with him, but the faith he represents. I am surrounded by people like him at home and work, and it isn't the people, it's their faith... sort of like how they say of the gays, "love the sinner hate the sin", I just hate everything about them, but I'm sure they are just fine people otherwise.

While I didn't like McCain, I at least respected his service. I respect the fact that he REFUSED to leave the POW camp when it was offered to him because there were others there before him, and he'd go on for another four plus years more of torture because of his refusal. He could have left the service long before he was even shot down, as he was injured on the deck of his ship when he was accidentally shot by another plane on the deck, an indecent that killed 134 other sailors and injured 161 others, himself included... of course many on the far right blame him for somehow being shot in that case and say he caused the deaths... As bad as he was on his political philosophy and the whole Palin thing (which I agree with what was pointed out already, was an attempt to lure the far right and women voters, and it worked on the far right, he probably wouldn't have got nearly as many votes as he did without her, because the narrative had already shifted far right on Fox and talk radio), he at least served and didn't dodge service because of a bone spur.

And this video just goes to show how gullible people are, "he's a Muslim" and he has to refute it. He has to keep saying how good Obama is as a man, and how true to himself he is, but they boo him. They are so wrapped up in the Fox and talk radio narrative, and their little social media bubbles, they don't know how to vet things they see and hear... they may do a quick Google search, not realizing that Google changes its search results to match what you'll find most agreeable... and then even if they do see a link they disagree with, they'll ignore it, find ones they like and coddle their bias.... I should know, I was among them for far too long. Up until basically this 2008 election, where I moved from Republican to supporting Paul, to supporting Obama, then loosing my faith shortly after the election because of the far right's actions...

I don't know it's true, but on the news tonight they claimed he planned on naming Joe Biden as a running mate, creating a two party ticket, but his advisors talked him out of it and pushed Palin, a suggestion he accepted without getting to know anything about her and one he regretted deeply.

Yeah, I think the Palin pick was rushed mainly because he wanted a woman to attract more women voters. In the end I think McCain realized it was a mistake also.

I also agree with the description with one major exception....choosing Palin as a running mate. With that one mistake, he created the disastrous know nothing wing of the Republican party that's now running the show.
