Trump Bloodbath statement Has leftest spin the lie

newtboy says...

Nice try at spinning away from what he said, repeatedly.

Trump is clear and consistent…when he loses he will direct his cult to riot and attack liberals and the government, again….he’s already told them to be ready.
When he said if he loses there will be massive bloodshed across America, he means exactly that. Nobody is fooled by the idiotic excuses and lies, @bobknight33. It’s far from the first time he’s said that.

That’s why there’s an industry selling “ready packages” for assaults to MAGA like the Rittenhouse Pack that includes (but isn’t limited to) full ballistic body armor, additional ceramic body armor plates, multi magazine holsters for multiple extended mags in multiple calibers, trauma pads and other first aid, and hydration because it’s thirsty work taking over a nation by force. These aren’t defensive items, they are assault items being sold exclusively to MAGA.
It’s why people like Bannon are telling their crowds to be prepared to go to prison to get Trump in office and dismantle the “administrative state” (by which he means the Federal government). These are crowds of MAGA politicians and appointees. You don’t go to prison for being peaceful lawful citizens.

WE ALL SEE THE PLANS HERE. You should know, vests don’t stop black talons or other Teflon coated bullets, and we know it.

He said the foreign car industry will fail if he wins, can’t sell those cars but that’s the least of your problems because it will be a bloodbath FOR THE COUNTRY if he loses and that (lower car sales) will be the least of it. That is the context, he’s calling for/predicting a bloodbath across America BY HIS FOLLOWERS if (when) he loses the election, not predicting a bloodbath in the auto industry (like the one that happened his first term).
I know that’s clear to even you, you just can’t admit it or you think you’ll give the game away…but nobody is fooled. Plausible deniability requires plausibility.

School Board cuts off parent

moonsammy says...

Oh no! WORDS! These children are too fucking weak to possibly stand up to the mind-twisting power of WORDS! PUT THEM ALL IN A PADDED ROOM UNTIL THEY CAN GO TO WAR! NERF THE WORLD!

Meanwhile, active shooter drills. Meanwhile, parents buying basic classroom supplies so the teachers don't have to cover them with their meagre salaries. Meanwhile, schools share a single nurse between them, while having no funding for mental health specialists.

Liberals tend to focus on issues that actually impact kids. Conservatives seem obsessed with policing morality, while ignoring actual harms being done. I don't much care if my kid reads a book that has some sex in it. I do care a LOT if their classmates are being passed through the system without actual basic skills competency, because the school lacks the budget for remedial classes and tutors.

Took me a minute to figure out the Kandace spelling. Clever.

Man Rips Up His Cash Over Seat Belt Ticket

cloudballoon says...

It's a public safety issue if you speed & crash, and then got flung onto the road.... but that's admittedly extreme.

I myself prefer to take the seatbelt off when I'm reversing.

The guy not only need to wear a seat belt, he needs to be strapped in a padded room...

visionep said:

Those alarms can be disabled. I always disable them on my cars so it doesn't annoy me when I don't want to wear my seatbelt.

Seatbelt laws are very strange to me. I think the law should only be that you can get a ticket if you don't force your children to wear a seatbelt. Forcing adults to wear them does nothing for public safety, it's a personal safety issue which shouldn't be mandated by the government.

I'm surprised the cops didn't refer the guy to mental services. This guy definitely has control issues and it would be worth it for his family to have him checked out and get help if he needed it.

Watch Elon Musk's Rocket Explode After Launch

newtboy says...

Sweet zombie Jebus…I just read WHY there was such catastrophic damage at the launch pad…NO FLAME TRENCH, NO WATER CURTAIN!!!
It seems Elon, on a guesstimate, decided the most powerful rocket ever built didn’t need any method of deflecting the thrust away from the plain concrete launch pad. He did plan to eventually try a huge steel plate under the rocket, but couldn’t get it done so just launched anyway with NOTHING.
NASA has been using both for over 50 years with success. A flame trench is a reinforced trench designed to redirect thrust horizontally away from ground infrastructure. A water curtain is exactly what it sounds like, a huge curtain of water dropped at ignition that absorbs the initial pressure/heat wave, also minimizing damage to ground infrastructure and lowering initial sound levels.

Why Elon decided he needed neither for the most powerful launch system ever is unfathomable. His launch pad is destroyed and this launch never even came close to 100% thrust. How many times does Elon have to totally screw the pooch as an engineer before they take his drafting table away? He’s playing with public money, somebody stop this insanely poorly implemented boondoggle please.

Watch Elon Musk's Rocket Explode After Launch

Harzzach says...

The damage was so massive that they have to rebuild entire portions of the Texas Launch Site. It's quite possible that the immediate failure of several engines on one side was caused by debris from the launch pad.

How build launch durable pads, especially when using powerful engines, isnt something we have to learn first by making mistakes. This is basic engineering 101 at NASA.

While i still cant get enough from vertically landing rocket stages and i deeply respect the work of Space-X engineers ... this ongoing, absolute reckless launch safety strategy (or should i say the lack of) does not bode well for manned missions.

BSR says...

If they learned anything then it would be a success. I think some of the engines didn't ignite which made it climb slowly and forced it to go off course.

It was said that the nose cone was added just for looks, it really didn't serve any purpose.

The launch pad and surrounding area was a mess with debris and a car was damaged some distance away from the launch pad.

The way everyone cheered I'm thinking nobody expected too much from this flight and it did better than expected.

Is Meat REALLY Bad For The Climate?

newtboy says...

Locally, all the beef in my area is grass fed. All unnatural pastures were created as a byproduct of the logging industry, not for cattle. It’s butchered and stays local. I must guess our beef here is that outlier at 9 kg CO2 equivalent per kg….or better.
I also must assume they give no value to the rest of the carcass in their calculations…bone meal, tallow, etc are also valuable commodities not accounted for here.

The biggest issue with food production is the number of mouths to feed. We about 8 billion today and rising. The maximum number that can be supported is estimated to be between 8 and 10 billion, but the maximum that can be sustained naturally without depletion of essential resources is only 1.5 billion, assuming they use the same resources per capita.
To actually be sustainable as a species, we need to eliminate over 80% of the population AND adopt far less destructive behaviors.
Ain’t gonna happen. Start making your chain mail dresses and shoulder pads now, it’s almost time for Thunderdome.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Rolls Over In Small Overlap Crash Tests

newtboy says...

Why bring it up? Because the flop was far less violent than the other crashes. The energy it took to flip the jeep used up kinetic energy the other trucks put into stopping hard and fast. Having experience with rolling, I know they aren't as scary or violent as people expect.
My speed at the start of a couple of my rolls was up to 80mph, not controlled and slow. They were faster than this test. Like this test, the act of rolling slowed the vehicle considerably. My seat was not much deeper than many seats I see in cars, but slightly. My interior, however, was bare metal everywhere, not padded pleather. Because there are zero crumple zones, the impact was absorbed by the frame, so transferred throughout the seat to me.
As for whiplash, I think the heavy helmet I was wearing would multiply that, not protect from it. I had no hans device, no helmet straps.

Edit: rollovers like this are less likely to cause whiplash or spinal injury than coming to a dead stop like the trucks did.

Is it exactly the same? No. Is it significantly similar? Yes. Do I have a decent idea of what a violent rollover is like. Yes. Better than around 99.999% of people.

wtfcaniuse said:

So a relatively controlled and slow "flop" in a harness with a racing seat designed for lateral support rather than a high speed collision causing whiplash followed by a "flop" in a typical vehicle. Why bother bringing it up?

Sir Croaks Alot (Kermit)-Piggy's Got Back

Better to be hurt on the ground than die in the air.

Payback says...

That's an odd finding. On the video, it looks like the incoming pilot landed on an apron between two pads. Even if the departing helicopter was centered, that's still awfully close. Sudden gust of wind and it might have happened anyway.

Edit: Ok, I see how the layout is.

https://goo.gl/maps/EnzXgvDf6YHMEj9S7

Seems a screwy setup, to be honest. I note the satellite image shows a chopper parked even worse than the first one in the video.

The complete NTSB accident report can be found at http://tiny.cc/helichop

They didn't place all of the blame on the landing pilot, a significant contributing factor was the second helicopter being out of position. That might not have mattered on another day but the landing pilot didn't have good visibility.
