How to get fired from Fox News in under 5 minutes
What if Rupert Murdoch sanctioned this?
Actually, fuck that. Here's a better question: what if Ron Paul actually was a credible alternative, instead of a racist, homophobic old whack job who doesn't accept evolution, climate change or a womans right to choose?
Tax the Rich: An animated fairy tale
All that might be true if the very rich made most of their money off regular job-type income, but they don't. They make it off capital gains. Those funds are literally taxed at poverty rate. Rupert Murdoch and Mitt Romney, are the classic examples. If we take their word for it, they pay less than working class people while earning millions each year. Do you think that's right?
The rich pay a higher rate than the poor.
Tax Bracket Married Filing Jointly
10% Bracket $0 – $17,400
15% Bracket $17,400 – $70,700
25% Bracket $70,700 – $142,700
28% Bracket $142,700 – $217,450
33% Bracket $217,450 – $388,350
35% Bracket Over $388,350
These are just Federal Tax rates. Then add state and local and you could end up paying over %50 in taxes. Is that fair?
At the top rate if one was earning 400k then they would pay 140k just in Fed tax. That's a big chunk of government cheese.
My CEO pulls down a base of $3million a year. That would give him a $1 - 1.5 million in Federal / State and local tax.
Sure he makes a lot but he also pays a lot.
The left would say that he needs to pay more of his "fair share" .
Even though I think he could pay more I believe that he is paying his fair share.
I am sure he hires the best accountants to take every possible deduction, as you and I would do in that situation.
IF you want the rich to pay more then eliminating some deductions form the rich seem like a good approach.
Silence on the Power Point limitation? (Money Talk Post)
'Hoarding' powerpoints is not a problem that requires a solution. It's not like we have a small market for powerpoints, and we're seeing the development of a Rupert Murdoch with too much market share.
I think you've fixed a problem that doesn't exist, and in the process limited the function of newer Sifters who may have far more interest in using functions than some of us older Sifters (like me).
On an unrelated note, I don't dig the new promote system. On that issue, I like your old stuff better than your new stuff.
The Simpsons - Mr Burns Explains The Fiscal Cliff
To answer that one has to answer what's more important for Murdoch: integrity of his beliefs or money?

So Murdoch is now doing Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? The WSJ has truly come down in the world, hasn't it?
TYT: First Amendment 'Too Expensive' - Fox News
No, that was my own assessment of the movement, and it seems to have borne out. What is the OWS movement doing today beyond vandalism and petty thuggery?
Yes, there were some good points made, and a whole lot of bad ones as well. They spoke as one cacophony and it is that lack of coherency or cohesive strategy (as well as a terrible image problem) that ultimately led to their downfall. Even the founders of the movement agree:
"But even Adbusters, the 'culture-jamming' magazine that help spawn the original Wall Street occupation, says that things have changed dramatically for the movement. "Our movement is living through a painful rebirth..." began its frontpage essay this week, and then quoted a Zuccoti park regular who declared, "We are facing a nauseating poverty of ideas.”"

These editorials from TYT...Still reek of the worst form of journalistic tripe. C & A use the same basic formula that keeps Murdoch's crap-riddled "media" empire afloat;
Sensationalism, inane editorial on current events, and smug gibbering about celebrities and volatile subject matter. That they are so popular here on Videosift is not surprising-Neither is Rupert's net worth considering the herd-mentality that keeps it afloat.
Question: If we are supposed to "sift" through the video offerings on the internet and embed the best here, why are ALL of the segments ever cranked-out by these wanna-be hacks embedded on this site??
Answer: "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
But who are you chastising? The people who vote democratically for it or against it (and they seem to vote for it), or the people who post it for it to be voted on?
I can't watch cenk, i think he has a great mind for doing this kind of thing, but until he can siphon out the 30000 miles per hour hyperactivity and fluff and deliver it in a good way, i can't watch. But videosift will continue to sift up whatever is popular and sift down whatever is not!
I get sick when i see the 3 billionth pomplamoose video being posted on the strength of having a very plain/oddly pretty girl with her face 3 inches from a webcam, but that's just what people like. I think this has a lot more content than that at least; there's a lot worse things you could get annoyed about first.

Agreed. I find TYT entertaining at times, but its in now way the cream of the crop that I expect from VideoSift.
