The calm of pilots during situations that would cause normal people to shit their pants is amazing. One of the most chilling and heartbreaking ATC conversations I ever heard was from the pilot of a PSA heavy immediately after a mid-air collision. His jet was doomed, and when he made transmission, it was nose down and screaming towards earth. He simply said:
"Call the equipment."

Edit-Ok, I guess part of me quietly (and sincerely) wishes this was some sort of ARG like viral thing.. but I guess I just have to assume he has the same initals and last name.

his secondary is the blue thing caught up with the other guys chute. im guessing when the other guy cut loose it stayed wrapped up on him (lines around legs or body), so when he cut away, he was still caught. his secondary deployed into the mess.

he did loose consciousness at end of video.

Yea damn straight. I bet he probably broke down when he finally watched the vid.

The planes the kid was directing weren't in the air, they were planes preparing to leave the gate. It's not like there was a chance of a mid-air collision. The only problem I can see here is that all it takes is one uptight asshole to ruin a light-hearted day.

I feel like the narrator in Fight Club...when he wishes for a mid-air collision. Am I completely weird that I kind of look forward to this happening? Something to set us all back to 0.
