Why she lied down and what elephant doing with her??
Sure, OK, but that is basically like repeatedly dropping a manhole cover from 3 inches above someone's back.

Urban water slide
This vid has a lot of comments on yt! Some of my favourites are:
On the whole they are split between the sentiment of "oh let them be kids" and they shouldn't do it either from traffic, open manhole covers, or whatever. I admit that leptospirosis wasn't my first thought when I saw the vid, but it's a nasty disease and well worth avoiding, and since it is transmitted via animal urine I can see how it could be a risk. Many of the comments pointed out that risk, as well as typhoid and other bacterial infections. Others said they did it too and were fine
This reminds me of my father and his brothers pass time down on the farm in rural Oklahoma. When the river would flood, they would go out into the river on intertubes, hang onto the top of a TREE sticking up out of the water, and garner a bumpy ride from the current.
Sliding where these kids are???? CHOOSING to go out into a flooded river???????
Their mothers would kill them if they knew....
In Russia Manholes Launch SUVs skyward
That's not just mesh. That's more like security bar fencing. My guess is someone well-meaning but without much mechanical intelligence thought it would be strong enough for cars to drive over, and better than an open hole, so they welded it to a cylinder that happened to fit and poof, instant manhole cover. Either way, that's an engineering *fail.

Nancy Reagan: "WTF??..where am I?..who are you!!..your not Ronny!?!?!?"
Marco Rubio: "STFU old lady...and keep walking"
Nancy Reagan: **notices the manhole cover is missing and sees her chance to escape**
Marco Rubio: "get back here!!!"
Crowd: "CLAP...CLAP....WOO-Hooooo.....**silence**"

Did I hear a "bonjour" at the end there?
Moral of this story: Never park over a manhole cover.
Actually, I'm gonna call that one a "Mon Dieu", not a "bonjour" and go out on a limb and slap on a *Canada tag

Teen Falls In Open Manhole While Texting
I suspect that even if the cones were in place she would have tripped over those and then gone head first into the sewer.
It's her responsibility to watch where she's going because you can't expect safety cones around every hazard. What if some kids had removed the manhole cover as a prank? Or if there was a plank of wood with a nail sticking up from it that had fallen from a garbage truck? Or a thousand other possible hazards that can be found on most city streets?

Hah, i'll get right on it

Yeah but that cold actually sounds pretty damn good to me.
What we need are four portals about the size of a manhole cover. I'll put one outside my front door and you put its counterpart in your house - free heating.
Likewise, if you would be so kind as to put one outside your door, I'll use its twin to bring some sweet coolness to my house.

Fall in hole guy has a broken arm now, you see how that lid landed on his arm? Ouch. That hurt a lot worse than the ass bruising, I bet.
Also, WTF?
Edit:Although, he does use it right afterwards... hmm, maybe that's a "light" manhole cover?
