This looks way too painful...

Mach Loop Airbus A400 debut - January 5th 2017

RFlagg says...

I always wonder when we see these Mach Loop videos what it is like living in the valley with all these low flying aircraft, especially near Cad West which seems to be the most popular spot to shoot videos and take photos... so then you also have traffic...

EDIT: Then on top of all that... is there a particular farm that sells parking for all these people to use, or is there a public parking spot and is it public land that everyone uses?

Thug Cop Smashes Woman's Face Over DUI

speechless says...

Maybe he should be strapped into a chair with his eyes held open while he watches a non-stop looping video feed of his actions until he says "I understand". I'm ok with that. But, I guess that falls under the "unusual" of "cruel and usual". Bummer.

How about he just gets arrested, tried and sent to jail like every other person would be if they smashed someone's face into pieces for no fucking reason? He will never be a cop again and so never able to repeat his crime this way, and as a former cop, I bet he learns a thing or two in jail about what it feels like to be a victim.

Yes, you are right. It's not really what I meant. Sorry.
What I meant is that for him to actually empathize with his victims and understand the wrongness of his own actions will likely require that he is forced to witness something/someone he loves being victimized. I did not mean it should actually happen.
While I agree he needs to be punished, it's my experience that he would endure the punishment but never comprehend that he did wrong, but instead would likely convince himself he's BEING wronged by being punished for nothing. I would prefer that he also understands his wrongness, it makes it more likely he won't repeat it. I'm not sure how to go about forcing that understanding without creating more victims, which I'm NOT really suggesting.

Felix Baumgartner freefalls at 1000kph

It isn't science or new or even interesting. It's been done and proven. USAF did exactly this in 1960. This just added a few hundred feet to their altitude.

A few hundred feet? Try an extra 30000.

To me, it's like those hotwheels loop-de-loop videos, except less visually arresting. Even with those you can get some 'Science!' out of it, but it's still a marketing activity.

Less visually interesting? Are you on crack? Look at that view. I would kill for the opportunity to do something like this.

I don't really believe there's an awful lot of science going on, but that's fine, it's not really about science.

Personally, if this is how Red Bull want to spend their marketing dollars, I say good on them. They sponsor a lot of cool and interesting stuff around the globe. I'm still not buying their product, but it's a lot better than being told that red bull gives you wings.

"Dining Room" - Creepy Looped Video

Why was this made?

via http://www.davidbearle.com/nothing.html:

"This short film flips back on itself. At exactly the midway point, the film begins to run backwards, and the sound repeats itself backwards with it. The character (Lea Porsager), speaks the three words backwards as the film goes forwards, so that they can be deciphered at the end of the film when they are played backwards.

When looped, there is no actual beginning or end, and no real sense of where the beginning and end actually are.

This piece was inspired by a personal paradoxical desire for empirical proof that there is nothing on the 'other' side of life.

I wanted to blur the distinction between the two states, and to state the paradox by showing someone who is coming back from life (or death), and denies its existence, thereby fulfilling the paradox."

grrr, it won't play for me. I'll upvote on good faith. I totally agree with KOMMIE regarding learning multimedia in College. I have taken dozens of multimedia classes, 3D modeling and animation included, but have only learned what feels like a days worth of material (excluding 3D courses). Their idea of "teaching" at my college consists of watching lynda.com videos and completing an assignment. Professional design practice and theory really isn't taught here.

ROFL! Ok, it's playing now. Totally worth the upvote! If it were a little longer it would make an awesome looping video! I was fortunate to have a really good instructor for my 3D animation class. But still, being on a quarter system, we didn't have much time to do any big projects. Instead we made a series of short animated clip with a pre-rigged figure. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=E07C54387BBD7474

Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World (making of)

Wow, Gondre was inspired from the magician's multiple-loop threading trick to do a multiple-loop video shooting. That's quite a link, quite the leap, quite the imagination. THAT'S CREATIVITY
