Foo Fighters Close Out Lollapalooza During Massive Rainstorm

Samantha Bee on Orlando - Again? Again.

Yowza! That wasn't MY experience landing in Auckland from Australia during Little Feat's April 2001 tour. They pulled out ALL the stops from dogs to a selected body search [one of the techs was detained because his glasses case smelled of marijuana!] The St. James Theater and the people we met there were delightful however and the country is absolutely stunning. I'd go back in a heartbeat [after fumigating my clothes and belongings of course] =o)

History of VideoSift Part II (Blog Entry by dag)

PlayhousePals says...

There's definitely something special about this place. As I've stated before, I'm usually not very social on the internet. I was very active in the Little Feat community starting when I first came online in the late 1990's, but they've pretty much moved on to Facebook and, since I refuse to have anything to do with FB, I feel out of the loop with them of late.

I joined YouTube in 2006 but didn't get personally involved until I started creating my own videos in 2011. Made some great "friends" there in the insular cat community but got discouraged/disheartened by policy and change after a year and a half.

Along came an invite to check out VS a mere 10 months ago and I was hooked ... line and sinker. So thanks @dag for creating such a compelling destination. Just wish I'd been here sooner.

Why the Jimmy Buffet (Buffett) tag?

I was using tags from the YT video. I know Mr. Buffett has been a big supporter and collaborator of the band for many years [Bill Payne has even toured with him] so I thought he had his hand in this somehow. But, after scanning the liner notes, I don't see him listed there so I'll remove the tag =o)

Rolling Stones - "Gimme Shelter" - Isolated Vocals

Levon.

PlayhousePals says...

I'm heartbroken to learn this. Levon has been struggling with his health for so many years now perhaps it can be seen as a blessing that the end is near . He will be dearly missed. I was in the wings during the 25th anniversary reunion of Little Feat's Waiting For Columbus album at the Lisner Theater in 2007. Ten feet away, Levon was double drumming with the late, great Richie Hayward ... they were like two little kids trading riffs and grinning from ear to ear. I just know Richie is waiting with open arms to welcome his dear friend to the big jam session in the great beyond. Go in peace Levon ... We love you.

New Collective In Town (Sift Talk Post)

Woland says...

Does southern country-rock (Allman Bros. / Skynyrd / Little Feat / Uncle Tupelo) fit? If so, hook me up with an invite!

And yes, I am aware of the difference between West and South, smart-ass types.
