Thanks.
Someone gave me Joshua Tree. Still moves me.

I remember talking to my cousin, when I was very young, and I said I didn't know who U2 was. He went to his shelf, grabbed Boy, War, and The Unforgettable Fire, and said "Listen to these, and don't bother talking to me until you do."
A defining moment for me, growing up.

*SPOILER* The end of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Big, BIG upvote for this excellent remake by Philip Kaufman, the best of the "Body" series!
Don't you just love the music in that Joshua tree (or whatever those trees are) scene! The low, upward angle, the slow tracking....deliciously creepy!
Ciao For Now... (Sift Talk Post)
Wow, Like a summer vacation away from life - I think we could all use one of those!
Just stay away from BandCamp during summer break eh?
I spent 2 months divided between camping out in Joshua Tree and the beaches of Baha Mexico a few years back and it was like returning to a different life. It felt like I had been away for years.
Cheers and Enjoy!
World's Greenest Homes - Dome Home
FWIW - I usually stay in a green Geodesic dome when I stay out in Joshua Tree. Solar panels everywhere, and a very nice big fireplace.

What is her charity? Does she have a website where I can donate a little green? (Very little, mind you. I was born a poor black child.)

"Know her" is a stretch. I met her in March in Joshua Tree, CA where she lives. She was very kind as I practically melted before one of my songwriting heroes. But since, I've been helping her with some medical questions and when she told me the charity was in trouble, I thought, "what the hell" I'll get involved and see what I can do. Thanks again for being a great guy.

Jonny,
I can't seem to drum up any interest in Victoria's songs and they languish in my personal queue. I was hoping that a more conventional voice, like Maria McKee's would get across the brilliance of Victoria's songwriting. Thanks for your support. It's good to know a few out there share my zeal. It was a huge thrill to meet her several weeks ago. She was playing in a band called "The Thrift Store All-stars," in a tiny roadhouse in Joshua Tree. She came over and talked a while. For me it was SWEET RELIEF.

oh no - was it a dupe? why not just let it slide into your personal queue?
