Palestinian UN Ambassador At UN

bcglorf says...

"Who the fuck cares what the reason they wanted to invadeflee was?"

Characterization matters a little here, no?

"They had a right to refugee status there, not to take control and possession by force"

Which is at the heart of things.

The Arab narrative is that Jews arrived guns loaded and set about pillaging, killing and invading as soon as they had sufficient numbers, while the poor domestic Arab population had only been trying to assist and welcome in the refugees...

Which is ahistorical propaganda.

The reality is that for the most part, the European Jews arriving in Palestine were refugees and acting like refugees. Meaning they mostly just wanted to be able to provide food, shelter and safety for the families, just like everyone else. Most of them tried to set about doing this by legally purchasing land.

Lots of the local Arabs similarly were content to get along.

At that same time though, there were hardcore Zionists among the Jewish arrivals AND there were xenophobic elements willing to use violence within the Arab population too.

The tensions rose as the populations rose, but largely as a result of a large people being displaced, and NOT as the planned invasion you describe. The local Arab population started to band together to refuse to work, trade or sell to Jews. Violence broke out instigated separately on smallish scales by BOTH sides. Escalating violence followed, again back and forth between sides.

I'm in a camp that has a hard time blaming either the domestic Arab population for distress at the huge influx of refugees, nor for the European Jewish people having a low tolerance for discrimination and violence directed there way solely for being Jewish.

I see it as a huge mess, but with two large populations of Jewish and Arab people in Palestine acting not terribly unreasonably under circumstances of extreme pressure.

I think it's lazy and convenient to just declare 'invasion' so that you can simplify it all down to right/wrong and good guy/bad guy....

“A hardcore Trump supporter in North Carolina has been arrested after sending death threats to a liberal fact checking group because he believed that the fact checkers were defaming Donald Trump. And then as he was being arrested by FBI agents, he threatened to kill one of the agents, which of course has now gotten him slapped with even more charges because these individuals that support Donald Trump are just that deranged. Let me read this because this is absolutely horrifying. This is from Huff Post. The man, Steven Williams sent an email in September to progressive fact checking organization, good information Foundation, ordering members to cease and desist all defamation and slander of mega Republicans and Donald Trump. According to the complaint,” this is treason an act of war, and we will treat you accordingly.” He wrote, Williams allegedly also warned “lethal action will be necessary if any physical detainment is attempted.”

When FBI agents showed up at the door of his Stokes Tale (Scottsdale?) home last month after being alerted by the fact checking organization about the threat, Williams told one of the agents, “I'm going to take you out” the complaint states, he's now been charged with threatening to kill a federal law enforcement officer. “

Another MAGA terrorist outraged by facts.

This on top of the uncountable death threats to election workers over more false vote fraud accusations, including against Republican election workers, forcing many into hiding or into the protective custody of the police, all because you babies can’t accept you lost another election bigly.

Where BLM co founder spends their money

Mordhaus says...

She didn't use illegal funds from BLM. She is a hypocrite of the highest order though. Of course, most rich people are, regardless of race.

1. She never took a salary from BLM: False. BLM stated they paid her 120k a year.

2. There is no proof she bought the houses or owns them: False, she admitted in interviews and statements she bought them for her family and herself. I question also that she is giving these homes to family, since she said herself that they disowned her and kicked out at 16 when she came out as queer. I can't find proof to counter that she gave them to family members, so that is just an opinion.

3. She is an avowed Marxist and Socialist, yet she is pursuing capitalist ideals hardcore. She tries to worm her way around this in her interview, but the Left themselves are criticizing her for doing this.

4. Wherever there is a white-dominant space, deep racism exists as well - no matter how progressive. If you cut too far into that progressive, if you do something that's too radical, white racism will emerge. - Patrisse Cullors: Also buys 1.4 million expansive property in Topanga Canyon district, which is 88% white and 1.8% black. Why would she want to live someplace where, per her previous quotes, deep racism exists?

interesting. unfortunately "mandelbulb" looks extremely limited. good for hardcore fractal nerds but not good for serious productions.

This is 100% fractals. It's rendered in a program called "Mandelbulb 3D" with some post-production in AfterEffects. The artist has some nice tutorials on his channel!

Trump Impeached

geo321 says...

Remember when the US unions purged all communists and hardcore activists from the AFLCIO? 20% of their members under Macarthism purged successfully. Unions in the US never recovered. Because of a bad ideology against a non existant communism threat. Now people are falling for that bullshit again and ignoring the more obvious imperial ambitions

I know it's not supposed to be THAT funny, but the ducks coming in hot at around 0:32 had me crying... not sure what she's feeding them, but are barn fowl prone to some form of addiction? (my beagle isn't even this hardcore when the dinner bell rings, and he's just a stomach with legs)

Wise Beyond Her Years

Mordhaus says...

It doesn't mention Vegan, but it does give you a link to a organization that is hardcore vegan and animal rights activists.

https://www.activistfacts.com/organizations/23-physicians-committee-for-responsible-medicine/

and so on.

Not to mention that while each meal can raise your percentage by 18%, it only will raise your lifetime average chance of getting colon cancer from 5% to 6%. As we discussed in my video https://videosift.com/video/BACON-CAUSES-CANCER-MCDONALDS-IS-GIVING-FREE-CANCER .

These same activists were officially censured by the American Medical Association by a unanimous vote.

transmorpher said:

This video has nothing to do with veganism. It's a message from the World Health Organization, two other leading cancer institutes.

If you want to put your anti-vegan bias away for a minute, then notice how the message isn't saying "go vegan", it's simply saying don't eat processed meat. Hardly vegan.

Youtube George C Scott Hardcore

So basically, for people who want to fap to death.

lucky760 said:

Yeah, this is pretty clear-cut given that as @wtfcaniuse pointed out, there are people there in the video, so this does fall under the Sift's definition of snuff.

For the sake of discussion, if there weren't, this wouldn't feel like snuff except for the title, but that by itself wouldn't be enough to fit into our definition of snuff.

The Best Bouncer Fight Ever

Mordhaus says...

I got lazy on the title, that is the video one. The best bar fight I ever saw was outside of a Korean bar in Harker Heights, Texas back in the 90's. I had exited the bar next to it with some friends when we saw the bouncers toss out two elderly Korean gentlemen in full suits. I would guess they were at least 50 or so.

Anyway, once they were outside, the bouncers left and these two guys proceeded to get into a full fledged Tae Kwon Do (or maybe Hap Ki Do, I don't think it was that though because it had a lot of power kicks) fight. I mean they were going at it, and I mean HARD. Much more contact than in any of the TKD matches I had been in at tournaments. After about a minute of not landing a solid hit, they stopped and mutually allowed one another to remove their suit jackets. Then back to the fray. They did get a few kicks in and got a bit bloody, but that is when the bouncers returned, apparently with their WIVES.

Hilarity ensued, because both wives basically glanced at one another and then waded into the fracas. They each started slapping and kicking on their husband, screaming at them. I don't speak Korean, but you could tell by the tone they were dressing them down hardcore. The fight stopped and two bloody, formerly distinguished looking guys looked like a couple of kids who had really torqued off their mom. I was dying off to the side from laughter. I swear if camera phones had existed back then it would have been an instance classic.

Best bouncer fight ever?

You have a low bar for what you consider bar fights. Around here, this is what happens every 10 minutes after 9pm until closing.

It happened before video phones became a thing, but the "Best bouncer fight" I ever watched was between two bouncers from competing clubs hanging out at a third club. Both were over 6'6", both had years of experience in their chosen martial arts, and each was built like a brick shithouse. Epic. Purely Epic.

Can This Change Everything for DJs

kir_mokum says...

this is pretty much bang on. there are several versions of a "special turntable" which are just controllers. you can use all in one controller set ups, CDJs/XDJs in HID mode, or rane's 12 turntable, which is just a stand alone controller for DVS. all in one controllers are geared more toward bedroom and wedding DJs, the rane 12 is pretty boutique and for turntablist/party rock DJs, and CDJs/XDJs are what everyone else uses and are industry standard and in every club/rave/festival/tech rider. there is also a growing move back to vinyl in certain scenes, especially techno and jungle/choppage/breakbeat hardcore scenes.

AeroMechanical said:

I'm pretty sure the vinyl itself has nothing on it. It's all digitized and stored in a module. The "Phase" device is just a very accurate, low-latency angular-position transducer for controlling the module.

So... why not just read the position directly from a special turntable (like the other digital sets they sell)? I dunno, I guess these let you use your favorite Technics turntables from 1989 that have just the right feel or whatever.

I don't know this, I'm just basing it on the evidence that there is clearly no stylus dragging across the record, so the sound can't be coming from there.

Ed: Oh, and I guess it's wireless. Maybe that's a big deal.

The History of Fortnite Battle Royale - Did You Know Gaming

RFlagg says...

I played a bit off and on during the NDA period, and that ramped up near the end. Then hardcore after the Early Access for a while, then stopped until the Battle Royale mode was added.

I tried the Battle Royale mode after it launched, but wasn't as impressed with it as I was with the original game. Little did I know then it'd explode the way it did.

I only played PUBG during the open beta phase and stopped playing that as well. I guess I'm not a Battle Royale sort of player...

John Oliver - Arming Teachers

ChaosEngine says...

@MilkmanDan, excellent points all round.

I'm not a gun owner, and I have no interest in buying one for self-defence, but I have fired guns a few times (at shooting ranges or clay pigeon shoots) and it's an undeniably fun activity. I could also see myself going hunting for food at some point.

Jim Jeffries makes an excellent point in his gun control rant.
"fuck off, I like guns" is actually a reasonable argument. If you like something and you're not harming anyone with it, why should it be taken from you? After all, many "anti-gun" (or more accurately "pro-gun control") people will make the same argument FOR drugs. "I'm just smoking some weed/having a beer in my house. I'm not hurting anyone, just leave me alone".

But the thing is unless you're a hardcore libertarian, almost everyone agrees that there should be some sensible limits on drugs. Even for legal drugs like alcohol, we mandate that you must be a certain age (older than you have to be to buy a gun, which is lunacy to me) and that you can't drive drunk, etc.

The sad thing is, there's near universal agreement on this, even in the US. The vast majority of people are in favour of the kind of simple, common-sense regulations you mention.

It's just that the politicians are in the pocket of the NRA. As one of shooting survivors pointed out "We should change the names of AR-15s to “Marco Rubio” because they are so easy to buy", and I cannot say how much I want to stand up and applaud that epic burn.

John Oliver - Parkland School Shooting

Mordhaus says...

One way to resolve the issue might be to redirect some of the immense intelligence focus from Islamic terrorism to domestic terrorism.

That is what this is, domestic terrorism. It may not always have a manifesto behind it, but that is not relevant. There were numerous people who said this person was probably a school shooter in the making. He was doing things with white power groups and militias. Why didn't our mass spying that we do catch that? Because it wasn't an Islamic group.

We can ban assault rifles or put limits on them, we can make mandatory psych evals required for gun purchases, or we could do any number of things. While we look into what we can legislate, we should also be looking into how we can use resources we have in place to STOP JUST THIS SORT OF THING.

As anyone who knows me knows, I am a hardcore supporter of the right to bear arms. I am not an NRA member, because they aren't really concerned about the right to bear arms, just that they keep getting money from gun manufacturers. I still think we can keep AR type rifles, but we should have a national mandate on clip size, number of clips allowed, and we should have a mandatory psych eval required if you plan on purchasing anything other than a hunting rifle. Yes, that includes handguns.
