You can say he ordered them to stand down, BUT

"It's not accurate to say that all activity ceased at that point."
And he goes on to explain that focus was shifted towards helping the states protect the integrity of the election systems.

It seems to me that the O-Admin underestimated the social-hacking taking place through propaganda efforts from the Ruskies, much like we all did before most of it came to light. It's a far cry from the current admin's "Russia if you're listening" and general 'We need to get along better with Russia' sentiments.

And it's odd that you're taking the side of Flynn considering even the current administration fired him in short order because of his dishonesty about his Russian entanglements. I'm not picking him as a "bad" guy, the Trump administration, the Obama administration, and the Justice Department is.

Bug Cry 5: Far Cry 5 is full of surprises.

CrushBug says...

Far Cry 5 has some bugs. Most are hilarious because they involve the physics engine. That is what makes the game so charming in spots. Some bugs interfere with game play, but Restart From Last Checkpoint is your magical fix. Stuck in an object? You can Fast Travel and that solves it.

The 2 hands thing happens when you futz with your FOV and screen draw settings on PC.

The game is a blast. Companions are great and have things to say. Game play is great, and, I can't believe I am going to say this, but the fishing mini game is fun.

Totally worth the money I spent on it.

Vox explains bump stocks

newtboy says...

Ok, gotta point out that it is not illegal to own an automatic weapon in the US. Any owned before the ban are grandfathered. I also think certain types of firearm dealer/manufacturer license holders can buy, sell, and make them under certain circumstances. Plenty of people legally own full auto weapons in America, you can rent them at certain ranges (remember the little girl that shot the instructor in the head), and there was even a TV show about a guy who's business was making them that ended just recently.
I think it is illegal to sell them to non license holders in America...but that's a far cry from saying no one can legally have them.

They missed the NRA's contention (that the courts agreed with) about why bump stocks weren't machine guns too. The argument was that since only one bullet comes out of the gun for every trigger pull, it's technically not a machine gun, it's still a semi auto.

Random Arma3 Bullshittery

Buck says...

I bought the game on steam. LOVE it. It's not like Far Cry 4 perfection, but it is a perfect computer "simulator". Fun and challenging. Setting up the controls is still an ongoing pain in the ass.

Far Cry Primal sure went a different direction. Maybe this one will too.
It looks gorgeous, at least.

The first third or so of Far Cry 3 was brilliant. Far Cry 4 was probably technically a better game, but it was nearly exactly the same game and I'd had enough of it by then.

Maybe if they change it up enough it will be good. What made the first part of Far Cry 3 so good was how novel and threatening the environment was. You'd be making your way carefully through the jungle, paranoid about tigers and stuff and then you'd hear a car coming and you'd scamper off into a ditch to hide until it passed. It was awesome. But after a bit, you figured it out and had lots of guns and bullets and you didn't have to care anymore. You just picked an icon on your map and walked directly towards it, machine-gunning anything that got in your way.

If they could somehow distill the essence of playing Far Cry 3 for the first two or three hours into the whole of Far Cry 5, they might have something. I don't think it's possible though.

really? This just feels kinda stupid.

Lone guy rises up to overthrow dictator is stretching believability at the best of times, but in the US? Er, they tried that and even with Trump as President, the feds tend to not be enthusiastic about that kinda thing.

Also, the reason Far Cry 3 worked so well (at least for the first half) was that Vaas was such a great character (Michael Mando is one of the best actors working today).

Crawfish Agriculture in the South

Stormsinger says...

Surprised myself by getting caught up in this and watching the entire show. It's a far cry from the crawfish boils my extended family would have in the Black Hills. We kids would spend several days catching crawfish one at a time until we had a washtub or two full. Then they'd disappear in an hour or so of feasting.

For some reason (likely suspicious water quality) we never did the same her in the Kansas City area.

Trump Jokes That Gun Owners Can 'Fix' the Clinton Problem

newtboy says...

Saying your opponents statements are "unfortunate" and have "no place in this campaign" is a far cry from thousands in your own party including hundreds of elected officials and those who previously publicly gave their support saying your statements are "criminal threats" are "dangerous" and "clearly inciting violence" and "have absolutely no place in American politics or America at all".

In Trump's scenario, Clinton was already president and already installing her judges....no voting possible...."nothing you can do", no vote to make by anyone...."except the second amendment people"....who also can't vote against her at that time. Absolutely no implication for voting her out.

Boom!

Lawdeedaw said:

Obama seemed to think so... "It was described by the New York Times as “one of the worst days” of her career, and the Obama campaign said the remarks were “unfortunate” and had “no place in this campaign." Boom...

And also, what the fuck? Maybe the second amendment people take her out--at the voting booths and vote for him? There was the implication for that. Bad implication. He didnt mean it. But it is there.
