That time RATM stormed the NY Stock Exchange to film a video

luxintenebris says...

"anti-family & pro-terrorist?"

wtf just happen at the Capitol? in the Senate? killing men & women is as anti-family* and terroristic AF.

as far as terrorist groups, the GOP is a far greater threat than RATM. sanctioning anyone in their group voting against the president?! having self-respect, voting your conscience, being principled, standing up for law & order - no place for them in the party.

brown-shirts were held to the same standard.

the mobsters, doing the don's bidding, defecated & urinated on a national landmark yet only they get any punishment?

turtle mitch said dimwit donnie was guilty and should be punished - but not by them. they were sworn to uphold the Consitution...but he violated the Consitution so long ago...too late for recourse.

as if the incoming AG will be rooted on by the GOP?

that orange turd said he could shoot a person on 5th Ave with nothing happening to him. he got 5 killed and nothing is happening.

~~~~~but the video was great.
got sidetrack.
damn me for caring.
Congress Under Armed Attack Live Stream
vil says...
Nice summary, Newt! My thoughts exactly.
The police seems to favour a bunch of (probably armed) hysterical Karens shouting incoherent nonsense over people who actually have reasons to protest and a clear reasonable agenda. Hockey mums shouting at the referee without understanding the rules.
The only slightly face-saving moment was the guy in Pelosis office writing a message and leaving her cell phone on the table instead of dropping his pants and defecating on it. It is possible that these people will yet come through to realize that no, once again, this is not the end of the world that their prophet is calling for.
Trump thinks this is a reality show and anything goes. Theatrical tactics to make it look like he was cheated out of a big win. Also always backs out of everything he says - not his fault this time either?
Security agencies from top to bottom made to look stupid and weak and slow to react. Look at how many police cars are there, how many policemen in fancy dress. It takes hours to control a few hundred Karens who could have been expected from the moment the president called for a march on the Capitol.
What shall you do with a president who calls for a march on the Capitol?
Edit: just found out there had been violent clashes on Tuesday already - what happened yesterday was either incredible incompetence bordering on mental retardation, or a purposeful extension of Trumps narrative. That the police favour Trump so they let the Trump mob storm the building is a nice scenario for some conspiracy theories of our own now :-)
Bill Maher shows his true colors
MilkmanDan says...
It's a joke. I found it funny, hence the upvote. Kinda like when someone says "does the pope shit in the woods?", they aren't actually suggesting that the pope defecates in arboreal settings.
...And they aren't necessarily anti-catholic bigots or "haters". If Bill Maher wants to say something negative about Islam, trends in Islamic populations, or faith in general ... he'll come right out and say it straight. I think if your goal is a "gotcha" moment of Maher showing his "true colors", you could easily pick one of his more serious comments on Islam, instead of something as silly, trivial, and clearly joke-oriented as this...
And that's why I like the guy.
Every Economy TV-Report EVER
poolcleaner says...
Dang it, now the masses know how it all works. It really is the numbers though. Never pause on a 2 or 4. Always count 5000 times whilst pretending to hail mary and fool God into a false sense of faith, but only if standing on 17, 23, and 29. If you think or say or see the word 20, step backwards three times, pull down your pants, and then defecate all over the ground.
I'm Pooping So Bad
Engels says...
I think this is ok. Parent was pretty chill. Psychologically it must be a bit nuts to have parents freak the fuck out and rush you to the toilet for emergency poops. I mean, is it any wonder we have an anally retentive culture. Chill out parents, treat your kids with calm and if you can't make it to the bathroom for instructional defecation, its not the end of the world.
Butters does have a point though...
JustSaying says...
Regarding leg angle and and pooping:
If you do the Butters technique, you have the added benefit of facing a wall which gives you the opportunity of placing your feet up on the wall to improve your colon positioning and leg angle, therefore the straightness of the defecation vector. Caution is necessary, though, as you need to grab onto the toilet to avoid launching yourself backside first from the toilet in a motion resembling a jump from a squatting position. This is especially hazardous during difficult defecation acts involving constipation or any kind of pain. Also, you'd want to avoid to give the expression "skidmarks" a new definition as it might stain the Butters technique irreparably.
Butters does have a point though...
CreamK says...
He does have a bigger point thou that isn't mentioned: "The Splashback".. You know, the moment when that toilet water shoots up your ass when you drop the deuce... But in fact, Butters gonna have hemorrhoids and possible even worse conditions (never google rectal prolapse...). By facing in, you're back is straight up, thighs are close to 90 degrees to your back.. It's good for offices, typing on your desktop. That is not how humans defecation works. We are squatters, closer you are to fetal position, the better. That leads to straight ejection where as straight up sitting pushes it out in an angle.. Pretty logical but totally opposite to the way we are going. The low seats are rising up all the time.. You may have to use a shallow stool to prop your feet up.
Also, toilet seat designers, if you see this: males have this appendix between their legs. When you sit down it points downwards in approx 45 degree angle. It does not point straight down nor does in simply vanish. Mine is perfectly average size and the toilet seat i have is very conventional, regular unit. Why does my dong has to touch the inside of the rim everytime i poop? And when are you gonna do something about that splashback? never? Thought so, you are pretty much just morons copy pasting 150 year old design that was a hole in a plane and no water beneath. Note, russians made an effort but that is even more horrible than anything we have now; it's basically a flat plane with the water on the front.. Everything fine except that the flat part is so close to your butt that you have to slowly rise, the water does not flush the dookie but you have to move yourself.. The worst toilet seat i've even encountered outside Polish trains.
Man, there's a lot of semi-accidental puns.. Poop is a funny thing, it seems..
Doug Stanhope ~ NSA Suicide Rate
MilkmanDan says...
This is why I think we should adopt various extremist phrases to be used as colloquial slang for generic situations.
"Sit on the John" came out of dislike for an English king and no longer really applies; I think we should start referring to defecation as "bombing the White House".
Instead of "taking a raincheck" when turning down something, pull a reverse-Giuliani and say that you're going to have to "9/11" that plan.
Refer to everyday activities with vaguely sinister operational titles. Any use of a broom can be "operation cleansweep". Taking your kids to school could be "delivering the package" in "operation mindblow".
I'm sure we can come up with plenty of creative ways to trigger the keyword filters and force the NSA drones to actually visually parse some of the terabytes of random crap that they are collecting.
The Incoherence of Atheism (Ravi Zacharias)
shinyblurry says...
@alcom
I hear you shinyblurry, but I feel that your argument meanders back to the original appeal to authority that most believers resort to when justifying their positions. I also find that the related video links provided by TheGenk provide a valid refutation of the idea that God is The One who put values of good and evil inside each of us.
There is always an appeal to authority, either to God or to men. There are either objective moral values which are imposed by God, or morality is relative and determined by men. If morality is relative then there is no good or evil, and what is considered good today may be evil tomorrow. If it isn't absolutely wrong to murder indiscriminately, for instance, then if enough people agreed that it was right, it would be. Yet, this does not cohere with reality because we all know that murdering indiscriminately is absolutely wrong. The true test of a worldview is its coherence to reality and atheism is incoherent with our experience, whereas Christian theism describes it perfectly.
If you feel the videos provide a valid refutation, could you articulate the argument that they are using so we can discuss them here?
In my mind, Zacharias' incoherence with the atheist's ability to love and live morally is influenced by his own understanding of the source of moral truth. Because he defines the origin of pure love as Jesus' sacrifice on behalf of mankind, it is unfathomable to him that love could be found as a result of human survival/selection based of traits of cooperation, peace and mutual benefits of our social structure. His logic is therefore coloured and his mind is closed to certain ideas and possibilities.
The idea of agape love is a Christian idea, and agape love is unconditional love. You do not get agape love out of natural selection because it is sacrificial and sacrificing your well being or your life has a very negative impact on your chance to survive and pass on your genes. However, Christ provided the perfect example of agape love by sacrificing His life not only for His friends and family, but for people who hate and despise Him. In the natural sense, since Jesus failed to pass on His genes His traits should be selected out of the gene pool. Christ demonstrated a higher love that transcends the worldly idea of love. Often when the world speaks of love, it is speaking of eros love, which is love based on physical attraction, or philial love, which is brotherly love. The world knows very little of agape love outside of Christ. Christ taught agape love as the universal duty of men towards God:
Luke 6:27 "But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Luke 6:29 To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.
Luke 6:30 Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.
Luke 6:31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
Luke 6:32 "If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
Luke 6:33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
Luke 6:34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.
Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
Luke 6:36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
Indeed, moral foundations can and must change with the times. As our understanding of empathy, personal freedoms and the greater good of mankind develops with our societal and cultural evolution, so too must our standards of morality. This is most evident when concepts such as slavery and revenge (an eye for an eye) are seen as commonplace and acceptable throughout old scripture where modern society has evolved a greater understanding of the need for equality and basic human rights and policing and corrections as a measure of deterrence and rehabilitation for those individuals that stray from the path of greatest utility.
This is why slavery is no more, why racism is in decline and why eventually gay rights and green thought will be universal and our struggle to stifle the rights of gays and exploit the planet's resources to the point of our own self-extinction simply will be seen by future historians as sheer ignorance. Leviticus still pops up when people try to brand gays as deviant, even though most it is itself incoherent by today's standards. Remember that "defecating within the camp was unacceptable lest God step in it while walking in the evening." Well, today we just call that sewage management.
Some people, like Richard Dawkins, see infanticide as being the greatest utility. Some believe that to save the planet around 70 percent of the population must be exterminated. Green thought is to value the health of the planet above individual lives; to basically say that human lives are expendable to preserve the collective. This is why abortion is not questionable to many who hold these ideals; because human life isn't that valuable to them. I see many who have green thoughts contrast human beings to cattle or cockroaches. Utility is an insufficient moral standard because it is in the eye of the beholder.
In regards to the Levitical laws, those were given to the Jews and not the world, and for that time and place. God made a covenant with the Jewish people which they agreed to follow. The covenant God made with the world through Christ is different than the Mosaic law, and it makes those older laws irrelevant. If you would like to understand why God would give laws regarding slavery, or homosexuality, I can elucidate further.
In regards to your paraphrasing of Deuteronomy 23:13-14, this is really a classic example of how the scripture can be made to look like it is saying one thing, when it is actually saying something completely different. Did you read this scripture? It does not say that:
Deuteronomy 23:13 And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement.
Deuteronomy 23:14 Because the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.
Gods home on Earth was in the tabernacle, and because God dwelled with His people, He exorted them to keep the camp holy out of reverence for Him.
The rules that God gave for cleanliness were 2500 years ahead of their time:
"In the Bible greater stress was placed upon prevention of disease than was given to the treatment of bodily ailments, and in this no race of people, before or since, has left us such a wealth of LAWS RELATIVE TO HYGIENE AND SANITATION as the Hebrews. These important laws, coming down through the ages, are still used to a marked degree in every country in the world sufficiently enlightened to observe them. One has but to read the book of Leviticus carefully and thoughtfully to conclude that the admonitions of Moses contained therein are, in fact, the groundwork of most of today's sanitary laws. As one closes the book, he must, regardless of his spiritual leanings, feel that the wisdom therein expressed regarding the rules to protect health are superior to any which then existed in the world and that to this day they have been little improved upon" (Magic, Myth and Medicine, Atkinson, p. 20). Dr. D. T. Atkinson
What's interesting about that is that Moses was trained in the knowledge of the Egyptians, the most advanced civilization in the world at that time. Yet you will not find even a shred of it in the bible. Their understanding of medicine at that time led to them doing things like rubbing feces into wounds; ie, it was completely primitive in comparison to the commands that God gave to Moses about cleanliness. Moses didn't know about germs but God did.
Paedophilia will never emerge as acceptable because it violates our basic understanding of human rights and the acceptable age of sexual consent. I know this is a common warning about the "slippery slope of a Godless definition of morality," but it's really a red herring. Do you honestly think society would someday deem that it carries a benefit to society? I just can't see it happening.
Hi Alcom. I agree with you that atheists are able to find value and meaning and beauty in life, but that is because we all intrinsically know that there is good and evil, and that life does have meaning, and things do have value, and there is such a thing as beauty and love. These values are ingrained into every single person who exists, because God put them there. The argument isn't that atheists don't appreciate these things, but that these values are inconsistent with their atheism. The argument is that atheists are living like theists but denying it with their atheism, thus the incoherence.
Utility isn't suitable for a foundation because the definitions are subject to change. What's good or useful today might be evil tomorrow depending on the majority opinion and conditions. Without God imposing a moral standard, there is no actual compelling reason why the morality of a pedophile is inferior to anyone elses idea of morality. If morality is just what we decide is true then any idea of right and wrong becomes meaningless because it is entirely arbitrary. Without any authority or true accountability behind it, what is moral and immoral blur into amorality.
Have you ever studied the French Revolution? Ron Paul's policies didn't go so well for Turgot, and haven't for anyone else who has tried them since.
I guess since neither of us are U.S. based we can always sit back and watch the spectacle from afar, eating popcorn, no matter what they try
Looks like you have studied the french revolution, but not what Ron Paul actually wants to do, or rather will be able to do.
And yes I guess its easy to sit back and eat popcorn for people like you.
Why does it have to affect me personally? I mean it affects me, but not directly (thankfully I dont live in one of those countries where it would), though there is no denying that the US has a huge influence on my country aswell. I can think around the next corner. I know how decisions in foreign policy of a superpower affect people on the whole world. You can see it every day. You want to tell me that it doesnt affect the whole world how the US has treated the middle east for the last 5+ decades? Do you really think they hate the US and their supporters because they are "free"? Do you think they wont forget that the US and other western countries supported the "Israelis" all the way where they are today? What would you do if someone took a good chunk of your property and just give it someone else? And a few decades later all you have left is only a spot for you to sleep and defecate on, because everything else has been taken by those, and you are treated like criminals by them and the majority of the world, because they control media in said superpower and you dont. Who would you blame for that? Only the one taking your land or also the one who allowed them to take it and continue to support them?
Or are you hiding behind your hypocrite ethics and moral by saying "thats not an excuse"?
The Vietnam war, based on lies, the attack on Iraq 2003, based on lies, etc, etc, etc, didnt affect the world??? It didnt affect me? How can you think that? Do you really think other regimes dont look at the USA and think to themselves, if they are the biggest hypocrites on this earth, why cant we be? There are enough examples for that, even in Europe. European governments suddenly made as bad and audacious decisions in foreign and internal policies and were inspired by the sudden and open showing of totalitarianism. Some even follow the US like they are their lapdogs. That doesnt affect me or anyone in the world?
Sorry, but if you dont realize how a superpower like the US acting with such massive and audacious hypocrisy, for every human on this earth with an IQ higher than 50 to see, then I have nothing else to say.
