Republican party unifier: Donald Trump?
Yeah, 'cuz it worked so well when the other Republican candidates did it (attacking him)...
Trump doesn't follow the rules. Attack ads and criticism (however legitimate it may be) don't work. In fact, they have the opposite effect. He's got a cult of personality; anything you say about him only adds to it.
The only curveball she can throw at Trump is to completely ignore him. His rabid supporters aren't going to drop him, no matter how stupid you make him look or how well you can show the logical flaws in his ideas. But ignoring him would rile him up even more -- Trump's ego *demands* to be the center of attention. Ignore him, and he *will* say crazy stuff to try to draw you out. Crazy enough stuff to turn away the sane independents, moderates, and plenty of more level-headed Republicans.
But the last thing you want to do is get into a shit-slinging match with Trump. Sun Tzu: He who is prudent and lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious.

The Daily Show - Fired From Your Job For Gun Ownership?
Fair enough. I typically don't count suicides in firearms deaths, and it's not just for "cherry picking" purposes. I believe that while some of those 34,000 people (honestly thats a surprising number) would be alive today if they didn't have access to a gun, the majority probably wouldn't.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate
Despite some of the loosest gun controls in the world, the US comes in decidedly mid-pack in worldwide suicide rates. While not having access to their first choice may dissuade some people, many will seek alternate methods.
http://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/86/9/07-043489/en/index.html
While suicide by firearm is popular in the US, especially among males, other countries with much higher suicide rates gravitate toward other methods. Hanging, falls, poisoning, cutting, and something called "charcoal burning suicide." People are resourceful, no matter what is done to prevent it.
My "Lies" comment was made in reference to EMPIRE's comment that most gunshot deaths are from an owner's own guns, and if you remove suicides from the death counts, that is still patently false. Counting suicides, though, he is technically correct, so I apologize.

Do I really want her and her ilk being armed?
well, in a way you do, since most victims of gunshots are killed with their own guns, so maybe this is actually evolution throwing us a curveball sayin': "you didn't think I could use firearms did you? "
As Mark Twain famously remarked, there are three types of lies: "lies, damned lies, and statistics." So I'll see your lies and I'll raise you some statistics.
During 2006--2007, firearm suicide and firearm homicide were the fourth and fifth leading causes of injury death in the United States, respectively. For youths aged 10--19 years, firearm homicide was the second leading cause and firearm suicide was the fifth leading cause of injury death nationally.
Read the rest for yourself here: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6018a1.htm
I'd rather get my information fresh from the source (i.e. the CDC, which is where the above comes from) rather than a pro-gun ownership web site that's cherry-picking which facts about guns to report.

Hey Duckman!
Back as much as I can be. McFate throwing me curveballs. Mamason had emergency surgery recently, and we're trying to work past that.
Good to see you and the familiar names and funny people here.
Ciao.

Colin Powell Talks About WMD Speech at UN
Actually the stories about iraqi WMDs originated from an informant named curveball who presented this information to german intelligence (BND), but they quickly exposed him as liar craving for validation. The intel was given to allied intelligence agencies ALONG with the assessment. All other agencies just filed the info. All but the CIA which in full awarness of the phoniness decided to use it for Powell's speech. In my eyes that justifies or even compels to bringing the whole bush administration to court.

Torture- Never Say Never? (Philosophy Talk Post)
"Oh my gosh, guys. This discussion is beneath me. I've already given my opinion in such a discussion several times. That's why I'm only popping in to tell you that this argument isn't worth my attention. Oh and plus I just want to say this one thing..."
If you're disgusted by "this garbage," why did you even click, read, and comment? The rest of us are doing just fine and enjoying the discussion without you coming in here to congratulate yourself. I'll tell you what kind of garbage I'M tired of.
>> ^Farhad2000:
Not this garbage again.
I have participated in such a discussion 5 times or so on this site alone.
Every time some one comes and says "WELL IF THEY HAD A NUKE AND U HAD 1 GUY U COULD GET INFO IF TORTURE WHAT THEN?!?!"
Never mind that shit never ever ever happened in the real world.
RE:Cheney and CIA memos. LOL! Please 2 memos? Explain why not a single intelligence apparatus of the US refuses to acknowledge Cheney's statements. Not to mention countless reports over the Bush years have shown that the Administration cherry picked CIA intelligence to support their cases. See Curveball intelligence re:Iraq and WMDS.
FAIL. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.
