Today we got a recording of Colorado District 4 Congressman Ken Buck pressuring an El Paso County GOP official to falsify (primary) election results in the State Senate District 10 race in 2020. “Just add this name to the ballot and give him the top line vote, with 30% of the vote.”

“ Buck: “Do you understand the order of the executive committee and the central committee that you will submit the paperwork to include Mr. Stiver and Mr. Liston on the ballot, with Mr. Liston receiving the top-line vote?”

Bremer: “I will seek legal counsel as I am being asked to sign an affidavit that states Mr. Stiver received 30% of the vote. I need to seek legal counsel to find out if I am putting myself in jeopardy of a misdemeanor for doing that. ”

Buck: “And you understand that it is the order of the central committee that you do so?”

Bremer: “I will consult with counsel. Yes sir, I understand the central committee has ordered me to sign an affidavit stating that a candidate got 30% who did not, and I will seek legal counsel and determine if I am legally able to follow that.”“

They were stopped from just discarding the primary vote by legal injunction, and they appealed saying they’ve done this so often that if they allow people to file for injunction against this illegal election fraud then the courts will be clogged for years because they’ve done this uncountable times.

Another blatant, outrageous, totally anti democracy election fraud by Republicans. Your party should be declared enemies of democracy and every registered Republican deported to a non democratic country, forfeiting 100% of the assets they’ve taken from America….or lined up in the street and shot as active traitors. The Japanese weren’t as anti American in WW2 as today’s Republicans…and you’re one of them. Your party should be renamed Ephialtes.

Steak boiled in 300 degree butter - Korean street food

Ashenkase says...

Its clarified butter. All that scum he took off the top was the cooked dairy coming out of the butter oil. Why he choose to season the beef with salt at the end is odd... usually salt for searing... would have added much more flavor. This is basically deep fried steak in butter oil. I sure arteries were clogged.

Window. Owl. Letter. World fame

StukaFox says...

There's a Snowy Owl in my neighborhood that hangs out on the roof of the house down the street. When it's out, half of fucking Seattle shows up to look at it. The street -- which is a car-width wide -- clogs and cars back onto the main thoroughfare, then people who live here get all pissed and start yelling at the people looking at the owl and the owl-watchers yell back at them; cars honk and run into each other.

Meanwhile, the owl just sits there with the troll face on and enjoys the show.

Oddly enough, no....but the tea and coffee still supplied more than enough.

The evidence showing that cholesterol is related to clogged arteries is this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqKNfyUPzoU Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (aka, the first person to demostate that heart-disease is curable) explains it in this TEDx Talk.

This is supported by Dr. Kim A. Williams President of the American College of Cardiology, and well as a study done by Dr. Dean Ornish, the doctor you've mentioned before.

There's also some 1300 studies by Dr. William C. Roberts and he concludes that cholesterol is the only major factor.

------

The evidence showing that dietary cholesterol is unrelated to blood cholesterol is........ funded by the egg board where they take people with maxed out cholesterol, and give them eggs, and the result is that their cholesterol cannot climb any higher.

If you like, dig up the studies, and I'll show you their scam :-)

But studies aside, you can literally test this yourself - eat no cholesterol for a week or two, and it will go down, and back up again when you start eating it. It's really that simple.

I'm not sure how you got to not eating cholesterol will clean out your arteries. Dietary cholesterol has no relationship with raising cholesterol in the blood.

Unblocking a blocked sewer connection at a manhole

radx says...

At least the plug's only at the end of the pipe.

At my parents' house last year, the pipe connecting the manhole to the actual sewer below the street was clogged. Which isn't so bad, unless nobody really notices it and the sewage just keeps collecting in the manhole. After pumping a good 1.5m³ of delicious sewage out into the nearby bushes (smells great at ~25°C), I went down into the underworld (again, great smell). Found the pipe in question and managed to insert a hose with backwards-firing jets into it, connected to a high-pressure washer. The bloody blockage was 6m into the pipe. Probably grease and fat from the kitchen sink, most of all. Anyway, half an hour of bumping into it over and over again finally cracked it.

Not the most pleasant experience. No cockroaches though, so there's that.

Dog Feels Petting Instead of Abuse For The First Time

JiggaJonson says...

Dogs = good
Trying to make me eat hummus instead of butter? = bad?

Idk, I don't think the two are as related as you imply. Either way, animals kill each other in nature all the time. You think if I didn't throw a lobster into a pot of water it'd die of old age? He'd probably get ripped apart slowly by a sea turtle.

^see how that doesn't sound like a conversation about abusing dogs anymore?

Post script: for the record, I believe the most humane way to kill a lobster is by driving a knife through the head quickly, NOT throwing it into the pot of water alive. I'm not for animals suffering, but I like eating meat and butter. The artery clogging is the animals paying me back. So it's all even.

The Water Bill Must Be Amazing

That does seem like a lot. I've always assumed that flushes would be designed to never be more than the volume of the bowl, so if it's clogged you can't flood accidentally.

Come Visit Australia

transmorpher says...

I'm glad we didn't make the same mistake the kind countries of Europe did, and instead we have a vetting process to help ensure that only genuine refugees are coming in. I'm not saying the approach is necessarily the best one, but what can you do when so many economic migrants are clogging the system (on purpose) for people in genuine need of help. (I'm a refugee myself btw).

If it was up to me I'd add some additional tests to ensure that these people are fit for a modern society too, you know, to make sure my daughter/wife/mother/sister etc can go outside on their own, unlike some cities in Europe now.

But then again if it was up to me, neither of the 3 major political parties would be in charge since they're all useless. Liberals are just a mouth piece for big business (literally, that's why they were formed). And they all also look like the bad guys from any 80s and 90s kids cartoon. The Labour party is well meaning, but ultimately as lame, pathetic and gut-less as their "leader", they simply don't stand for anything and all of their policies boil down the lowest common denominator. The Greens driven by emotion not facts, and now they don't even seem to care about the environment very much.

There needs to be some kind of progressive party that is capable of driving humanity forward into the future, instead of weighing it down with traditions of the past. The whole system needs a huge reform.

Let's Talk About Bathrooms

Mordhaus says...

As a person who cleaned restrooms while I was in college, I can say that women's rooms are just as bad as men's. You just haven't lived until you've tried to unclog a toilet that got clogged by a sanitary napkin some idiot tried to flush with their poo.

Additionally, at least in college restrooms, the likelihood of puke was much higher on the female side.

artician said:

Have you ever been in a woman's bathroom? I have. There's no urine in there. I mean, on the floor. I know, right? I always thought that was universal; public bathroom = swimming in urine, globs of wet tissue, and I just threw up a little thinking of the other stuff.

Women's bathrooms aren't anything like that. Sometimes one of them doesn't dispose of a tampon right, which can be yucky, but otherwise: no urine. Doesn't even smell that bad!

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for a unified society and breaking down gender roles and segregation, but I wouldn't force a men's room on anyone.

When Video Game Companies Pay To Get Their Game Reviewed.

RFlagg says...

Yeah, I'm sure being rejected early access to review code has a far bigger impact than cash. It takes time to review a product and get content generated and ready to go, which is why early review code is necessary so you can launch your review as soon as that review embargo ends... as those are the ones that will generate the click revenue, which is probably exceeds whatever studios may pay directly.

Hey, I've been offered review code (never of AAA titles, biggest I got offered was The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut and Sword Coast Legend) on occasion from a PR firm that somehow I got on their list (I do have a blog that is gaming focused, got a very small Twitch channel and YouTube channel that largely focuses on games). I personally only accept ones that I genuinely have an interest in... of course this perhaps clogs judgement all the more. I wanted to like the title... so I may be more forgiving. When I founded and ran Mortyr.net (it's long since been taken over) I admit my preview of the game was clouded a bit, though I've tried to apply lessons learned from that forward. Then again, it's perhaps easier to apply those lessons to myself as I'm too small to matter (and the offers for review code are very few and far between), a big publishing site who's reviews count on the Metacritic analysis, and rely on click through revenue has less room to be apply such lessons and almost needs to ignore impartiality in favor of making sure you keep in the publisher's good graces. A PR firm handing me a review code that doesn't work out well isn't as bad if Game Informer or somebody like that doesn't give it a positive review.

TLDR: Exactly what RedSky and Stormsinger said.

RedSky said:

@Stormsinger

Indeed, I doubt it's ever explicit cash, just the promise of being rejected from early review events and being snubbed for previews. Being late to review or not getting any exclusive information can be a big deal for a mag or game site.
