Although I'm less sure of this now -- you can call it borne out of stereotyping/cliche -- but Asians (where most of these so-called "Exotic" fruits featured here are regularly seen & consumed) typically don't go gaga over EVERTHING. Similar to the way British don't typically do standing ovation for every live performance. Easy rewards cheapen everything, as that's especially insulting/disrespectful to the real achievers that put in hard work.

I'm taught to don't just only say nice things... Positive reenforcement is not a bad thing, but gotta earn it, and never go over-the-top. You know, call a spade a spade, constructive criticism and all that probably worth more in the long run, and more illuminating. We don't raise snowflakes in my clan.

My local TV news was all talking about this trailer as Toronto is prominently featured as the background location in the movie. It's refreshing to see a Hollywood/Disney movie featured places outside of the USA and most other cliche tourist destinations like London/Paris/Rome/Hong Kong/Toyko, etc...

Using an unmarked van, with the side door open to run around drive by shooting civilians with a shotgun and beanbag rounds...

Can anyone explain why this isn't immediately a firing for everyone involved? At the least you have to go up the chain enough to find whomever gave the order, then you need to fire them. Then you also need to take every officer willing to actually follow that order and fire them too.

the exception proves the rule, so to speak. also, these cliches largely came after alien/aliens.

i understand and agree that he is unamerican in the sense of the "american ideal" but outside looking in, he is a completely typical product of american culture. he's reality TV, fame for fame's sake, wealthy without working, a hustler, the ideal jerry springer guest, the ideal wrestling guest, the son of racist nepotism, performative altruism (and then defrauds his own charities), he pathologically cannot accept being wrong/defers all fault to anyone else ("whatever, i do what i want"), he's weaponized ignorance, he's "hilariously" rapey, he's illiterate, a proud philistine, he's vapid pageantry, he's a christian who know nothing of religion/spirituality, he's 4chan, he's 8chan, he's tacky style with complete lack of substance, he's the personification of "fake it 'till you make it". these are all lessons i've seen repeated ad nauseam from american TV, films, music, podcasts, youtube stars, etc. to the point where they're past cliché that they're now entrenched americana.

i know that isn't the typical american but that is the most typical american america has sold to itself and the rest of the world.

Hmmm....I'm not resistant to this new information but when I listen to this presenter it sounds to me like she's personally offended by the original Alpha dog theory. The disgust in her voice throughout is unmistakable and I assume she's conflating canine behavior theory with human social cliches or that she feels that any form of negative reinforcement is abuse.

This leads me to believe that I'm getting a biased interpretation of nuanced data.

If I want to know what's going on here I'm going to have to commit to the necessary investigation because this presenter is unreliable on this topic.

Unfortunately, my interest in this topic barely extends to the length of a 6 minute youtube video.

Well... the cliché is as old as cinema, true, BUT, if there's THE one female badass that truly would behave as such IRL, it would be Post-T2 Sarah Connor, isn't it? Both character (Sarah) AND actress (Linda Hamilton) EARNED the "calmly walk away from explosions" shtick in my book.

The All-time Greatest On-Screen Female Badass #1 & #2 gotta be between Sarah Connor or Ripley from Alien. For me I'd pick Sarah as #1. My jaw dropped so hard seeing the changes of Hamilton from T1 to T2. Freaking amazing.

I'm actually pleased at how difficult it has proven to find his hate speech quoted. It's nice that news outlets have finally understood that, by repeating it ad nauseam, they are spreading it.

Dennis Miller coined the term "tracists" for people that look for traces of racism everywhere.

I always enjoy this guy's rants but I wish they would drop that randomly moving camera cliche that a 9th grader would use.
