If there is one thing I have learned from cinematography, NEVER believe the lighting condition! it is insane how many night scenes are shot in the day and color corrected to night in the final.

I think the cgi-ness is our brains trying to associate what we see with what we have seen in the past. This vehical seems to be;

a) Super light weight hollow body
b) DC motor driven
c) all electric

It is literally a big boy version of modern RC helicopters which also exhibit weird looking physics because the motor totally overpowers the mass of the body.

Obviously most of the footage is of the only way this vehicle can hover, on its back. Being all electric and light, the flight time is likely only minutes.

We have seen many vehicles like this, the only puzzle piece no one is solving is a sustained source of power.

Not just you. Also looks like a prototype being lifted by a crane in some shots. The propellers look too small to lift that mass.
I was also suspicious that they had so much footage under various lighting conditions. The twilight shots especially, which are dangerous conditions to fly under. Could be we're wrong, and just be artful CG for the sake of a fundraising video?

The beginning of the trailer looks like it's from something else entirely. The cinematography and directing both make it look like a low-budget, SciFi channel, TV-movie. Did they have multiple directors working on this project?

Okay, so Hardcore Henry was referenced. Figure I'd give my take on it. H.H. has a LOT of camera shake. Depending on how you can deal with that shakiness, I wasn't able to view the movie in one sitting. It took me 3 sittings just to finish watching it. After a period of viewing it, I didn't feel too good. But there's a basic difference between the two. This being a short-film/music-video kind of thing. The other is a movie.

If by comparing the two as far as camera work and cinematography, I think this one executes the 1st person view better. There's less shaking overall, which makes for an easier time to follow what's happening. But that's my opinion of it.

You can see the quality in the thumbnail as well. The Titan looks just fine in the still, but the live content looks like they haven't done anything for the quality of their cinematography. The live action elements pop right out here because they were probably filmed in a closed studio with poor quality lenses, lighting and technique.
I wasn't really waiting for this either though, so no loss for me. Just wanted to agree.

If you liked Suzuki's visuals and cinematography, I can only recommend Tokyo Drifter, a Yakuza movie that was a kind of pioneer in perverting the codes of the genre.

If you like 60s Japanese period flicks with a Sergio-Leonesque take on the Samurais genre, Suzuki also made a couple, but in that case do also have a look at Kenji Misumi's work, better known as the director of the original Zatoichi The Blind Swordsman, and of course as the main director of Lone Wolf And Cub, a.k.a Baby Kart. The two first movies were kind-of-butchered, re-cut and re-dubbed as "Shogun Assassin" in the USA; but the real thing is six movies long, and all of them are worth it in my opinion.

If you people haven't watched other Red Letter Media movie reviews, you are missing out a huge part of cinematography!
They are extremely detailed, educational, insightful and entertaining to watch! Well worth the time!

It would seem so, but the cinematography uses the drone expertly:
* The camera is slung low on the drone to keep the props' shadow off the lens.
* The long angle of the shadows keeps the drone's shadow out of frame.
* In the few cases where the camera is looking away from the sun, the drone is in the shadow of a building.

They really seem to have outdone themselves this time in terms of rehearsal and extras, at least. The song...meh.

I wouldn't, how hard is it to keep a camera steady when the whole thing is CG? Made me dizzy after about 15 seconds. I can't figure out why some movies think that makes good cinematography and/or editing. I've taken to calling it "the Batman Begins problem".
