Feel Energized and Sleep Better w/ One Morning Activity

eric3579 says...

Full episode..

In this episode, I describe a comprehensive toolkit consisting of behavioral and supplement-based tools that you can customize to enhance the quality, duration and impact of your sleep. This has an enormous positive impact on your overall health and daytime functioning, brain, hormones and immune system. I teach you how to effectively harness light (and darkness), temperature, food, exercise, caffeine, supplements, and digital devices in order to fall asleep faster, stay deeply asleep longer and overall, and achieve better quality sleep. I also describe how these tools can be modified to recover quickly from a poor night’s sleep, jet lag or bouts of shift work. Given that sleep is the foundation of all mental health, physical health and performance, this episode should benefit everyone as it provides an essential toolkit of science-supported, low- to zero-cost strategies that can be tailored to optimize your sleep routine.

When I’m On Cocaine …

luxintenebris jokingly says...

thought crack-babies shook themselves.

sidebar: w/the Tallywackers now boycotting Oreos...w/M&Ms, Keurig, Starbucks, Pepsi...will there be a rise in their cocaine use?

w/o sugar or caffeine, they'll need something. lord help us if they actually hold themselves to their threats. imagine MTG in a more sluggish state?

Trump’s Loyalties

newtboy says...

Sleepy Joe has already destroyed the Russian economy in just one week. Stocks down 40% and market closed. Foreign banking closed. Interest rates doubled, Oil exports stopped. Rubel in total collapse.

Even Russians are protesting against Putin.

Joe creating an international coalition to give Russia a unified front opposing him has done more damage to their country than 4 years of Trump’s “leadership” did to ours, and that’s quite a lot.

Imagine if someone gave him caffeine…he’s already doing exponentially better asleep than Dumb Donald when he was awake. Poling agrees.

Putin didn't invade under Trump. He did however invade with sleep Joe behind the wheel.

Guess Biden is Putin's bitch.
How's Biden favorably rating doing?

Does Marijuana (alcohol/caffeine) disrupt your Sleep?

FreshPotix | How Dave Grohl manages coffee addiction

BSR says...

That settles it. Brothers in caffeine. 🤜 🤛

Never did alcoholic coffee unless it was Baileys Irish Cream at Christmas time.

newtboy said:

Do you let it ferment? Otherwise it's just plain coffee...and that's no fun.

I started with the hard stuff, quadruple espresso with near equal parts sugar....often followed by a second, at 16 years old. I calmed down to just 1/2 a pot of strong coffee daily now, still full of sugar and cream. I never liked coffeehol....alcoholic coffee....but I am a confirmed coffee addict. ;-)

16 oz bottles of soda were to share with three people

5-12 a day???? The caffeine alone...Did you have one heck of a withdrawal headache when you stopped lol???

My body's doing it wrong.
From age 16-35 I drank nothing but Coke unless it wasn't available (Coke, no Pepsi). Between 5-12 a day! Somehow I remained rail thin (probably cycling). Around 35 I decided that was going to kill me if I didn't stop, so I did and switched to lower calorie natural sodas, juices, coffee, and teas.....now I'm fat. Go figure.
At least I didn't give myself diabetes....although I can't explain how.

Making the 1886 Coca Cola Recipe

AeroMechanical says...

It's a real shame about the coca leaves. Not a fan cocaine as a recreational drug in typical recreational quantities, but for the equivalent level of stimulant effect it's way better than caffeine. It's got all the benefits of caffeine without the unwanted side effects. It's not as long lasting, and you get the improvement in focus, energy and concentration without the lingering physical stimulation and mind-racing jittery stuff caffeine causes.

Homeopathy Explained – Gentle Healing or Reckless Fraud?

Drachen_Jager says...

The core idea behind homeopathy is that water has memory.

So if you put Caffeine in water it "remembers" the Caffeine and when you reduce the amount enough, that causes it to become "negative" which means it'll put you to sleep.

So since all water on Earth has been exposed to other water that was once in contact with every conceivable medication, perhaps we should just drink water instead of paying for some magic water? After all, every bit of water you drink has some molecules that were dinosaur piss once upon a time.

"You know the rule: "i" before "e," except after "c." A rule that is immediately followed by a metric butt-ton of exceptions: "either," "neither," "weigh," "neighbor," "caffeine," "weird," "protein," "feisty," "conscience" ... and then approximately 10,000 more words. So it's less a rule than a thing that ... just happens, sometimes. Like a tornado."

Toxicity Comparison (This little will KILL you)

yellowc says...

Interesting but not terribly useful without context (on the smaller scale, 1L of vodka is pretty easy to understand).

How much venom does a hornet typically release in one attack? Obviously not the lethal dose but still, it'd be more interesting to visualise how many hornet stings it takes to kill me.

How much caffeine in a typical cup of coffee? How much salt in an average wrap? etc

Toxicity Comparison (This little will KILL you)

nanrod says...

They didn't include glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup. Based on it's LD50 of 5600mg per kg of body mass it comes in on a par with pure alcohol at about 400g for a 70kg person or about 30 times less toxic than caffeine.

If Coffee Commercials Were Honest

brycewi19 says...

Same can be said of many things - caffeinated tea, for instance.

Then also, think of all the dopamine that is released from a satisfying meal. All food and drink has the capability of releasing chemicals and hormones that give us humans all sorts of desired effects - from fullness, to satisfaction, to alertness.

And they all can be commodified. This particular "Roger" sketch doesn't quite hit home like the rest of them.
