Elon is being praised by Putin for cutting Ukrainian communications during a military operation.
SpaceX may lose their government contracts because Elon has made his companies unreliable, proven when he cut Ukraine communications and killed Ukrainians by doing so.
Twitter/X is going down hard.
Teslas in flooded areas are bursting into flames at reported rates much higher than other EVs.
Another MAGA hero turns out to be a narcissistic failure.

Bonus - According to Romney, who is not a liar, Trump would have been convicted of his second impeachment but MAGA senators convinced Republican senators that voting to convict would put their and their family’s lives at risk from his terroristic cultists (like you) and they changed their votes out of fear.

Sydney Powell tried to get her charges dismissed by admitting to all the crimes she’s accused of but claiming that her coconspirators authorized her to go in after hours and tamper with voting machines and copy voting records using third party companies (owned by her co-conspirators).
Not a good defense to admit to the charges, but say “my friend the bank teller gave me permission to rob the bank, even gave me a key to come in after hours. Sure, I robed it, took every dollar, but I had authorization to do it, can’t charge me!”. It’s not going to work out for her…or the rest.
Remember, thanks to RICO, if one is found guilty, they all are. Powell just admitted guilt in her filing…with a nonsense excuse attached. 😂

ATM that gives more then just money

I think it's all just stuff the customers are saying to their usual bank teller or bank rep. I know my mom gets pretty chatty with her bankers, so they know all kinds of stuff about our family.

That makes me feel really uneasy that a bank knows so much personal information about its customers.

Which do you suppose would be dirtier? Homeless man crotch money, or stripper dollars?

Im voting stripper dollars.

Now, imagine being a bank teller near a strip club. All that glitter, sweat, tears, and other stuff........all over those dollars.

Bank of America Adds Monthly Debit Card Fee

Sagemind says...

First of all, of course is was the bank's idea. That is simply a silly statement. That we agreed to it is secondary and after the fact.

Yes, the debit card made things more convenient - that's a fact. Sometimes a little too convenient but that another issue. But more importantly, it also made it more convenient for the banks. Far less people in bank line-ups means less tellers, less paperwork, less behind the scenes people filing and organizing. It also eliminated inter-bank transactions which used to be a huge process. (Remember when you wanted to make a withdrawl, but it wasn't your branch?) I can't imagine the process for corporate money and investment money managing on a global scale without digital accounts. The process alone just for taking in, processing and returning checks/cheques must be arduous.

The point is, this system wasn't made for MY convenience, it was made for THEIR convenience.

Yes, you are right, we did embrace the convenience. Who wouldn't? The nature of the word is obvious and we embrace every new convenience. That we were slowly lulled into compliance through this convenience is more the issue. That's how most traps are set. Now the system has been institutionalized, there is no way we can do without it, so now the service charges start to increase - and there is nothing we can do about it.

Actually, I can't get my paycheck in cash. I have to have a bank account for the automatic payroll. I also cannot pay my bills without the bank, I either need to pay online using my bank account, pay at the bank teller, (which I also need my card for) or pay by mail using checks (yup need the bank for that too - and an added service charge.) I can't rent anything without a credit card deposit. I can't stay at a hotel without a credit card, I can't make a reservation anywhere, I can't book a flight or plan holidays. I can't rent a movie, I can't get tickets to the theater or see a concert. Starting next year, I won't even be able to purchase the lunch program at my kids school without an online-transaction (Yup - credit card.) So don't tell me that I am not required to have the cards because we ARE required to have them.

I could take out a wad of cash every two weeks, except the banks are only open while I am at work and closed before I get off. The problem is, I can't stuff that cash into the phone line or mail it. Yes there are things I can still do with it. Buy groceries and gas... but there are many things I can't use it for.

So, point out the millions of videos of cops acting bad... What about the lazy citizens, criminal citizens and such who act worse?
Your justification for a cops "bad behaviour" is that criminals act much worse? How like criminals do you think cops should act?>> ^Lawdeedaw:
Is our nation's society, the system we all run by, or any other nation's system for that matter, broken?
Broken is the wrong word. The right word would be imperfect. Given that society is a constantly evolving system, hopefully to the benefit of the whole, broken is a silly word. So let's try again:>> ^Lawdeedaw:
Is our nation's society, the system we all run by, or any other nation's system for that matter, imperfect?
Yes. Emphatically, yes.

The mother who sprays her child with a pressure washer? The crackhead who leaves her baby in a car, or let's her baby suffocate in the couch because she is passed out? WHY! Motherhood must be a flawed system! Or the robber who shoots the head off a bank teller? Why, open banks are flawed systems!
False analogy. Attributing a bank teller's head being blown off to open banks is the same as attributing an innocent man's innocenter dogs murder during a police raid to the unarmored nature of the dog.>> ^Lawdeedaw:

Please spare the hyperbole...
The irony! It's thick! >> ^Lawdeedaw:

Here we agree. Everyone needs to get a little weeded every now and then.>> ^Lawdeedaw:

???

You sound like one hand clapping.

And what have you done personally to change the system? Do you vote for or against Sheriffs who are elcected officals? Have you written to a mayor about abuse? No? Have you supported candidates who can effect change? No?
No. I've done none of these things.

But what of you? Have you organized parades in support of the judicial system? Have you given back rubs to your local "S"herrif? No? Have you ever purchased a sexy policeman calendar? No?

Ahh, well, then, your argument must be invalid.

If every police officer in this country acted this way, there would be armed revolution.
But these are two shitbirds out of hundreds of thousands of honest cops who risk their lives to keep the peace and try to preserve justice.
Don't judge thousands of cops on the basis of these two idiots who should be canned...or caned.
Would you like to be judged by the action of one of your co-workers?
Don't be a knee-jerk clone and try to paint all police officers by the actions of these two.

Lol... Getting so sick of hearing this bullshit copy pasta. How many videos of abusive cops need to be put up before they're considered evidence of a flawed justice system.
You're the clone, open your eyes. If police officers continue to act this way there will be an armed revolution.
And I'm not judging hundreds of thousands of cops on the basis of these two idiots. I'm judging the system which creates an unacceptable amount of abusers.

Bank of America Refuses to Cash Check from Armless Man

The Sift, Thoreau, and Civil Disobedience (Worldaffairs Talk Post)

gwiz665 says...

It is indeed your obligation to resist, if your government, squad leader, general, police captain etc. does something that according to the law is wrong. If you do something just because you feel it is wrong, then you're in a gray area. I think there are different degrees of how "wrong" it can be, and there are very much difference in what kind of opposition you can do.

We have a media license in Denmark that we have to pay if we have a TV or computer with broadband. It's predicated on the fact that we apparently all watch the state controlled TV channel. I don't, so I refuse to pay it. I do not destroy the network building or something similar, my civil disobedience only covers my self - I do not force anyone else, except by not paying.

Someone like the dude that shot the abortion doctor would say that he did what he felt was morally right too, but he is well into the black part of the gray area. He is forcing his opinion on all else by murdering the doctor - it's like murdering a bank teller for charging you interests.

I am a pretty *law-abiding person, and I do think that all quarrels should be dealt with under the law. When I see the atrocities that the Bush administration has done against human rights, I do feel that they ought to stand trial - somewhere. They've done far worse than anyone ANYONE they've had in Gitmo. I mean, they're worse than Osama himself, for Christs sake.

Fuck You, Female Coworker!

>> ^Krupo:There have been studies published which have shown that once variables have been removed, pay for men and women with the same experience and education is virtually identical"

The problem with these numbers is that these "variables" are not equally applied.

Some number crunching on funding and tenure applications for Professors in Universities, where we have lots of public information about their work and the impact of their work. Women need to be objectively twice as competent in their publication record to be considered equally competent as their male counterparts in terms of their likelihood of receiving funding or tenure.

Apply this across the whole of society and any assessment of "work performance" as an unbiased "variable" quickly falls apart.

Also consider that in industries which have a strong sexual bias the bias has a strong effect on earning potential. One textbook example is bank tellers, who were at one time all male, and they made a decent living, the profession shifted to female dominance, and AT THE SAME TIME the average wage dropped substantially. One can certainly argue about causation in this case, but the correlation is strong, and seems to apply across the board.

It is also reasonable to consider that women, being informed actors, choose, because society does not highly value their work, to do different things for a living, or prioritize work in different ways, which is still a consequence of a sexist social valuation, even if the choice of how to act in the face of it is still up to the individual.

Pornography Myths (Femme Talk Post)

rougy says...

1. Porn cultivates good relationships. --- Porn has little or nothing to do with relationships. A relationship that is centered around, or influenced by, porn isn't much of a relationship to begin with. I've watched porn with girlfriends, but it was kind of distracting and unfulfilling. I really don't think porn has a lot to do with relationships any more than dreaming does.

2. Porn is for men who sincerely appreciate the beauty of the female body. --- It's less an appreciation for women's bodies than it is a need to see those bodies in order to gratify themselves and release some tension.

3. Porn is harmless and it has no negative effect on the person using it. --- It can be addicting, but certain people seem to need it more than others, kind of like booze.

4. Strippers and porn stars lead glamorous lives, and men respect them. --- As compared to what? A bank teller or a waitress? Some lead glamorous lives, most don't. Respect? That depends, too, on the woman and the man. Just as there are some real creeps in that crowd, there are some real bitches, too.

5. Men like variety in women so porn use helps a man stay faithful to his woman. --- Porn has little or nothing to do with relationships. Porn is a device used by some people to amuse themselves or satisfy themselves or relieve themselves with an orgasm, arguably one of the most pleasant experiences known to humanity. The impact that porn has on a person's fealty to his or her lover is usually nil.

6. Women who get involved in the porn industry choose to do so, and they have valuable careers. --- Most, obviously, choose to do so, as do the men. Rarely does a woman make a porno with someone holding a gun to her head. Some do have successful careers, like Christie Canyon or Nina Hartley. The same is true for the men, like Peter North. It comes with a price, of course, but the stigma of being in a porno has lessened greatly over the years.

7. Porn is an outlet or safety valve for men who would otherwise do Bad Things. --- Probably false on the whole. Again, the relationship between porn and human interactivity is almost nonexistant. Rapists don't need porn, they need rape. Pederasts don't need porn, they need little boys. People who need porn usually have some kind of hightened or unique sexual urge that is not being satisfied and porn is the only course to achieving that satisfaction.

8. Women who work in porn are empowered and sexually liberated. --- As opposed to women who don't work in porn who are empowered and sexually liberated? Porn is a job. Few jobs are empowering or sexually liberating.

9. Porn is just a fantasy and people do not apply it to real life. --- Overall, that's true. People who like and use porn are usually more imaginative than those who don't. The kind of people who have to apply things to "real life" are usually not users of porn. I would say that most people who use porn get to a point where they have to fetishize some aspect of it to keep from being bored. It's an outlet, a distraction, and ultimately very private in nature.
