Oh shit…Lecturngate is blowing up in Arkansas where MAGA governor Sanders is in deep shit for using taxpayer funds to take her insurrectionist girlfriends to Paris (and thousands in smaller personal purchases), then trying to hide it by changing how Arkansas replies to FOIA requests in special session with anti transparency laws that would exempt her from explaining the thefts.

When that failed she forged official documents to pretend she had used her insurrectionist friend’s company to buy a $20000 lectern (not for the$20000 trip they took together). Turns out the lecturn they showed trying to continue the fraud was a fake knockoff lectern that would only cost $7000 if it were real and is worth a few hundred dollars at most…a total fraud.
After being caught repeatedly tampering with original public records, a felony, now the AK GOP is going to reimburse the state for her vacation she claimed was a fake lecturn.

California spends $8,967 per person while taxing $7690 (honestly worse than I thought),
New York spends $9,940 and taxes $10,279.27,

Alabama spends $11,743 taxes $4,330,
Alaska spends $14,375 taxes $6,697 (I think only DC is worse),

If they're going to impeach him, there's plenty of material already. He could see jail before he sees the Oval Office.

Two problems.

1) Republicans would be embarrassed to admit they'd backed a candidate that spent more of his first four years in jail than in the office. It would blow up the party and they're too self-centred to do that.

2) Even if they DID impeach him, Mike Pence is only slightly better. Republicans will still have a 100% lock on the Supreme Court in 4 years, they can shut down more polling stations, kick everyone they don't like off the voting rolls for flimsy excuses (it happened in North Carolina this election in spite of a court order).

It would take an overwhelming majority of Americans voting against Republicans in four years to tip the scales. If they have another four years, they're only going to push things further. Watch California get reduced to fewer electoral votes than Arkansas.

The US is bordering on failed state/despotism. The Republicans in congress and the senate are the only ones who could stand in the way, but if they stand in the way, they give up their own power.
