Loose Cannon | 1994 Fairchild Air Force Base B-52 Crash

StukaFox says...

This video somewhat glosses over how Dr. Strangelove-level nuts Holland was. His little stunt in Yakima was the least of his batshittery. He almost augured a '52 into his daughter's softball game when he stalled the fucking thing pulling a maneuver similar to the one that caused the Spokane crash. Yes, the crazy bastard used a B-52 to show off -- over a goddamn kid's softball game.

Also not mentioned is how close he came to turning a large part of Spokane into a radioactive wasteland when he missed plowing into a nuclear weapons storage depot by about the length of one of Roger Waters' better spits.

If there's one lesson I hope all members of the USAF take from this incident, it's that B-52s are not toys.

The Insane True Story Behind '50 Shades of Grey'

I'm pretty sure I have dozens of more interesting, risque stories with better plots hosted at literotica. One of which may involve Dr. Strangelove's post-nuclear fallout harem.

Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love BDSM

The Truth About Gingers

lord of war-the interrogation scene

I used to jerk off pretending I was him when he goes in that choir and graphically hits on the choir girl. Does that make me a bad person? My wife thinks I'm a good person -- because I'm rational and I admit my faults. Even more so with my internet persona. But I have everything to live for and enjoy my moral compass, albeit living out heinous activity in my brain. This is my all time favorite Nick Cage!

Lord of War or Dr. Strangelove... who would I trade places with? Strangelove. Better deal.

Japanese Movers Have Been Rigorously Trained

cosmovitelli says...

Just had an image of you leaning morosely in a half empty flat staring for hours at an old album

(btw I imagine you as Dr Strangelove natch)

poolcleaner said:

Um, this is the part YOU'RE supposed to do yourself, isn't it? I thought movers removed the necessity for constantly, back breaking heavy lifting. There's catharsis in taking stock of your possessions.

Cool, thanks for the link I watched "On the beach" (1959, the original one) for the F1 car, for Fred Astaire, and as a related film to Dr. Strangelove (in that order). The dvd cover of Grand Prix looks familiar, I have a horrible feeling I may have bought it and then never watched it... and if so, I will fix that over the christmas break!

Le Mans (1971) was a reasonable film for racing cars, particularly if you ignore the tiny bit of story and just watch the brilliant car scenes

ZappaDanMan said:

Yeah, it was meant to be F1 cars; but Bernie Ecclestone (F1 commercial rights holder) decided against it, as he thought Stallone would give F1 a bad name.

He was right: It earned seven nominations at the 22nd Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Couple (Burt Reynolds and Sylvester Stallone) and twice for Worst Supporting Actor (Reynolds and Stallone), with Estella Warren winning Worst Supporting Actress (also for Planet of the Apes).

List of F1, Indy car and CART drivers in the film:
Jean Alesi
Michael Andretti
Kenny Bräck
Patrick Carpentier
Cristiano Da Matta
Adrian Fernández
Christian Fittipaldi
Dario Franchitti
Luiz Garcia Jr.
Mauricio Gugelmin
Michel Jourdain Jr.
Tony Kanaan
Juan Pablo Montoya
Roberto Moreno
Max Papis
Oriol Servia
Alex Tagliani
Paul Tracy
Jimmy Vasser
Jacques Villeneuve

Here is an Excelent Racing movie: Grand Prix (1966)

It won the Academy Award Oscar for: Best Effects / Sound Effects, Best Film Editing, Best Sound in 1967.

It's the only Official F1 movie. The sound is quite incredibly. There is a scene in the movie; as they race around the streets of Monaco, with a Panavision 65mm camera strapped to the hood of the car.

All the best,

Noam Chomsky is a genius and I agree with him almost always - but on this - no way - no.
ANY country with nuclear weaponry is a threat to everyone - let alone a country like Iran. Look what a pain in the ass we have with North Korea and Pakistan.
I remember the cold war and the persistent fear of mutual destruction and the perverse rationality behind it.
I don't want ANY country (including my own) to have nukes, least of all non-democratic countries.
Allowing them and any other non-nuclear country to have nukes is the wrong direction.
We need countries to start giving up nuclear weapons, not proliferating and spreading the disease even more.
The United States might be denying Iran nukes for the wrong reasons (OIL) and perhaps Israel for the right reasons, but frankly I don't care either way.
One less country with nukes is never a bad thing.

"right of self determination" - well, where do you draw the line? Can dictators pull this card out as well?

You are conflating two entirely different issues, and doing a bad job of it to boot...

Iran has done the same things for years, but the only thing that get's the US and Israel wet is when nuclear is involved. Don't kid yourself for a second in believing either country would go in to save the people from a dictatorial regime, all they care about is someone else dealing themselves in to the nuclear game. I suspect you know this very well of course but it makes a much more compelling case to break out the violins and claim the action is humanitarian.

Whew..! Kymbos -- thank GOD, I was worried that I was just posting the first lame thing that came to my head and ignorantly appeared to be some dumb asshole that makes immature, low brow, unapplauded, and not-so insightful comments about otherwise top 10 material.

With your blessing, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Scientologists, this annihilation wave will never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever end. Glory! (holes)
