David Blaine Freaks Out Ricky Gervais
There used to be a magician at Knott's Berry Farm that demonstrated this trick pretty close to the audience and then explained that he had trained for years to create the pathway through his body for the sword to pass through.
The arm is particularly easy because of how the muscles are arranged around the bone. It passes right below the biceps. Not much going on in this particular, dare I say "easy" to pull off location of bloodless stabbiness.
I don't know if the Knott's magician is still there or not, but it was a "magic" show that explained the science behind older, more simplistic tricks like this.
Also included were lots of different types of electricity stunts (static electricity, powering light bulbs through people, etc.), which have fallen to the wayside with magicians because most people nowadays understand electricity and it's not as gut wrenching as this scar tissue build up dealio.
I upvoted for Ricky's reactions and David'd ridiculous goading, but the trick itself is le sigh.
The magician at Knott's had a fairly visible scar on both sides of his arm, as he likely performed the trick A LOT. Serious needle mark action. lol. Blaine probably rarely performs this trick and perhaps used other material, like make up, latex or some such material, glue, creams, etc.
I won't reveal it in a comment, but if anyone's curious how it's done watch:

tattoos after breast cancer
I was hoping this would be people's pre-existing tattoos that are now hideously ugly due to cancer scars...
That makes me a bad person, right ? ;-(

our very own shagen454 rocking LIVE! voyaj-all night strange
The other two guys write the lyrics and they usually come out fairly funny:
All Night Strangers
On top of pink palaces grown
Remarkable shapes; handles to hold at night
I dream of your finger touching my scars
you're wearing your rubber reversible velvet gloves
Who are you to be so cruel?
Is it any wonder I get dolled up in your clothes?
When you're out on your own,
Better than being dressed like myself when you're here.
All night strangers that look like you
denying that they know who I am,
I get entangled walking out in the cane
Were we not born to make one of two?
Is it any wonder that I sleep in an armoire in Thailand, alone?
Trying to squeeze the love out of myself,
wrapping the cord one more time around,
All night strangers are told by you to deny that they know who I am
As I'm turning blue I'm turning red from the shame

THESE ARE THE LYRICS:

Whether you meant 'scared' or 'scarred', it doesn't make any difference. This is the stuff of nightmares.

Cats vs Fox
I had a cat that used to get in fights (plural, it happened more than once) with coyotes. By the time he was 5-6 years old he was down to about 1/3rd of an ear total, broken tail, permanent limp, sliced lip so he drooled all the time, mangy lookin', etc.
Maybe that level of accumulated battle scars convinced him to retire from fighting, and he survived in that state for another 5 years or so. Tough ol' bastard.
BIGGEST CYST ON THE PLANET | Operation "Kill George"
Wonder why they didn't pack the wound with gauze so that the cyst heals from the bottom up and reduces the chance of it coming back.
Im still surprised they didn't open him up more to make it easier to drain the cyst and so that he could get the cyst wall out. chicks dig scars yo.
It has to be laziness...or negligence. It's not like having a cyst excised is a major expense.
I still find it amusing that for all our medical technology, we still have to drain cysts by essentially squeezing them like a zit.
Little Girl Explains Childbirth in 4 Seconds
Either you forgot the sarcasm tag, or you're one of the people who think that seeing Janet Jackson's nipple for 3/4 of a second can "scar someone for life".
People have peepees or hoohoos. I figure that knowing that they exist (and knowing the proper words for them) isn't a bad thing in any way no matter how old you are.
I can't help but feel sorry for her. The exposure to sex organs at such a young age could harm her in the future.
Interesting to watch nonetheless.
Harrison Ford Won't Answer Star Wars Questions
Yeah I'm certainly there with you. I told my girlfriend when we were discussing it that if, IF, they actually managed to get Hamill, Fisher and Ford all staring again, I would give it a shot. Even then I think I'll probably view it like one of your favorite films that becomes a TV show (I personally hate that, it's just shilling). Even if it's "good" good, it won't erase the scars that Ep.1-3 laid on me.
That said, before Ep.1-3 came out, I told myself there was nothing they could do in those films that would ruin the original series for me, and I was wrong about that.
But yeah, you're not alone. The only copies of the original films I own are the LaserDisc rips of the original, non-special edition series (because it's the last, highest quality version you could get before things went downhill permanently). I'm a nazi for respecting source material and lore.
am I the only one just not excited at all about the new movies? I just feel certain that they'll fuck it up, or even if it's good, the feel of it will just be so foreign that it won't be Star Wars.
For all of George Lucas' faults, it still just won't be star wars without some hamfisted, bad dialogue.
Best Greeter Ever - BAM!!!
That was not a bam.
That was a BAYAM.
Willie adds a consonant and a vowel just for being Willie. And the capitalization is well deserved by his extraspecial all right now.
We need more people like Willie, honestly.
(He also has intense knuckle scarring from stupid kids that punch the heck out of his hand.)
Removing Billions Of Giant Blackheads
I'm sure most women would immediately know what that tool was. My wife has one. She likes to use it on me while I'm watching TV. I've got this scar on my ear where little blackheads form, and she likes to groom me.
Seriously, this isn't weird, right? People do this? Tell me other people do this...
