Conservatives VS KKK : Spot The Difference
Gonna help you get through this...
Bongo isn't worth the spit. Sharing nothing as he has no grasp of history. I do...but am fairly well-read...and am open to learning the good/bad/ugly of American history. Check out the '60s and the LBJ administration. Find a book by a real historian. Answers should come by seeing it for yourself. Or, magically, given the chance to think about it objectively.
will admit was against Uncle Thomas from the beginning. anyone w/sense knew a black man was going to be appointed but who he was replacing was almost too much to bear (like the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark - a jewel for a bag of dirt). never appeared to me to be overqualified or a cognitive powerhouse. believed he'd be what he is. seat filler.
so was biased in that regard. knew how to judge the judge.
in a wider view - we are all biased in some regard. hard not to be. science has shown even our brains give us bad info. racism exists everywhere - no one group is immune. 'tho some use it as a tool to get other tools to act like fools (ex: Jan 6). i.e. don't use bias to prove bias. like trying to wash in dirty water.
Can't help w/the other vids 'cause they smell of BS. Open-minded doesn't mean Open Holed. Don't have to be an outhouse. Don't want to step in it - why roll in it?
Nice to see you watch fox.
Here some more.
Democrats are the party of racism.

I personally prefer the Indiana Jones approach as used against the swordsman in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

The Boy With Perfect Timing
This is old, that kid went on to play the giant Nazi in the Flying Wing scenes of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Quentin Tarantino: 'I'm shutting your butt down!'
Violence, death and danger raises the stakes of a narrative and triggers the production of adrenaline in the minds of the viewer. Our ancient ancestors got the same rush by outrunning a grizzly bear. Luckily, we can tap into this brain narcotic with much less risk.
There are films that do seem to pointlessly revel in gore and suffering, most notably Saw 1-26, but Quentin certainly isn't guilty of this kind of torture porn. Steven Spielberg killed at least as many Nazis in Raiders of the Lost Ark as Quentin killed racist confederates in Django, but Spielberg never gets criticized for it. The violence in both films serve the dual purposes of making the bad guys really bad, and making the catharsis of revenge in the end really good.
Violence in media is a reflection of violence in culture, not the other way around. Quentin didn't dream up slavery, lynchings, torture, mutilation and the other types of racial violence in his film. That stuff really happened.
And to Spike Lee: Django blowing racists to hell with TNT is how Tarrentino deals with race in cinema. Mookie tossing a garbage can through the front window of Sal's pizzaria is how you deal with race in cinema. Both are great films with the same perspective on race done in completely different styles. Get over yourself. If you want to criticize a film about race directed by a white guy, do 'Crash', that movie was a patronizing pile of shit.
25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Films
>> ^valorumguygee:
While its true that wasn't in the script, it wasn't improv, as they decided to do it since Harrison Ford was very ill and didn't want to do the fight, he said to Lucas, "Why doesn't he just shoot him?" so they decided to just do that.
>> ^saber2x:
A a great mix, but its missing one of the best unscripted scenes, In Raiders of the Lost Ark when Harrison Ford shoots the big guy with the sword, he was suppose to fight that guy but because he had the stomach flu he just shot him to end the scene and the big guy played along with it.
True, and it's my favorite part of the movie.

Just like Raider of the Lost Ark!
A High School guitar choir plays the Jurassic Park theme

THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS. Seriously, I was obsessed with this movie when it came out. I saw it theatrically eight times, which is still a record for me. I actually bought the soundtrack, which I almost never do. I even bought the music book so that I could attempt to play the theme on the piano, even though my piano playing skills were basic, putting it kindly. I haven't seen the movie in years, so I don't know how well it holds up (I'm almost afraid to revisit it, as I'm fairly sure I won't find it as mind-blowingly great as my 11-year-old counterpart). But I know the soundtrack holds up -- there's an sense of awe and a majesty to it that I just love, and I definitely think it's among Williams' best work.
>> ^shuac:
One of Williams' least inspired scores. Get back to me when they do Superman.
My favorite YT comment: The asian kid in the white shirt with guitar was the best!
Oh come on! It's far too simplistic for me. Boring changes with a weak narrative thread (melody). I don't think it fits with the film's subject matter very well either. I don't hear much awe. I hear something similar-sounding to awe: yawn.
Look at his wins (scores that matched up very well with the films): Jaws, Star Wars, Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, JFK, Nixon. Nixon is especially good, so much so I bought the soundtrack. The main theme **IS** Nixon, it's that fucking good.
Anyway, it's a matter of taste and I happen to know you have excellent taste in films. You're just wrong about *this*.
Terry Gilliam criticizes Spielberg and Schindler's List
The film A.I. started out as a Kubrick project, a project that Kubrick wanted Spielberg to direct, because he felt Spielberg's directing style would best fit the script. The film never got out of the development phase, because the effects technology of the time were not convincing enough for Kubrick's high standards. After Kubrick passed, Spielberg picked it up and made a very dark, beautiful and underrated film. One of his best IMO.
All of them are artists. All of them are entertainers. I dig all three directors. If I had to make a personal top 10 list, it would probably include The Shining, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Brazil. I don't see a reason to beat down Spielberg just because he is more commercial. Most commercial films suck. (Current box office champs: Tron 2, Yogi Bear, Narnia 3) Spielberg consistently puts out intelligent, meaningful films that can be appreciated by people of all walks of life - not an easy task.
That said, Gilliam's last 3 flicks were horrible. I hope his second shot at La Mancha goes well, the released footage from the 1st abandoned attempt looked really good.
Kurt Russel's Star Wars Audition
>> ^netean:
just further confirms that Lucas is a generally crappy writer/director who has just gotten lucky a couple of times.
a couple of times? Star Wars: ok, I'll give you that, crappy diaglogue, badly acted but fantastically good film, what's the other one, Willow, American Graffiti? they're the only 2 other possible contenders. Everything else has been a steaming pile of raped childhood memories.
If you say Revenge of the Sith, I'll reach down my broadband line and smack you so hard!
I thought Raiders of the Lost Ark was ok, too.
