Actually that dog’s real name was originally Rover and he was Minnie’s dog.

“ On October 23 of 1930, The Picnic was released. Pluto was Minnie's dog and was named Rover. The Moose Hunt, which came out on May 3, 1931, Pluto appeared as Mickey's pet, and was given the name "Pluto".” -Wiki

Bipartisan hearing. Mostly Trump republicans testifying. All corroborated with indisputable evidence despite the ever increasing attempts at obstruction, the intentional destruction of evidence under subpoena, the number of officials pleading the fifth making them undeniably guilty in the court of public opinion and offering no defense in the court of law . That’s why you’re told “do not watch, it’s just a show, don’t, whatever you do, learn some facts about the attempted coup and fraud Trump and his administration was personally involved in planning and directing”.

Investigations are generally one sided, especially since the “other side” here is firm that there’s “no crime to investigate, it was a picnic and normal discourse, not a failed coup, not attempted election fraud on unheard of levels from within the government, Trump is perfect, investigation over”.
Do you think Capone was allowed to be part of the police force investigating him?
How about El Chapo…was he on his own investigatory committee? We’re the officials he was known to have paid off? 🤦‍♂️

Only no insurrectionist MAGAs because the accused doesn’t get to be part of the investigation, and the non complicit Republicans mostly refused to cross Trump with 2 notable exceptions….two life long multi generational actual Republicans, not the new anti America, anti democracy, anti sanity Q brand MAGAts.

Even intentionally ignorant, head in the sand idiots like you can see this simple fact.

What did I tell you!?! States rights! Suckers! Bwaaaahahahahaha!

“I am outraged by yesterday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision allowing Texas’s ban on most abortion services to remain in place,” Newsom said. “But if states can now shield their laws from review by the federal courts that compare assault weapons to Swiss Army knives, then California will use that authority to protect people’s lives, where Texas used it to put women in harm’s way.” Newsom said he will work with his staff, the Legislature and California Attorney General Rob Bonta to craft a bill that would let citizens sue anyone who “manufactures, distributes, or sells an assault weapon or ghost gun kit or parts” in California. They could seek damages of at least $10,000 per violation plus costs and attorney’s fees, Newsom said.

I told you this would happen.

BTW, the Presidential coup Plan PowerPoint handed over by Meadows pretty much obliterated the lies that 1) it wasn’t an attempted coup 2) it wasn’t expected 3) it wasn’t planned 4) it wasn’t Trump supporters being violent and 5) the white house wasn’t directly involved.
Contemporaneous records of the planning, including texts to organizers and militias claiming that the national guard is poised to protect Trump rioters from arrest or attack….as if any non cultist needed more evidence beyond the live broadcast of the coup attempt, but now there’s publicly available physical documentation/evidence directly from the highest levels in Trump’s cabinet of their own direct involvement in the planning to overturn the certified election by fraud and force.….which I’m certain you will dismiss as fake news with no hint of evidence because your little brain can’t handle facts.

the PowerPoint laid out a plan to effectively use the military to steal the election outright, undeniably. That’s treason.

The plan was to use the military, specifically the national guard, declare a state of emergency, throw out most of the ballots from the 2020 election, and then have the national guard run by people that Trump handpicked himself count only the paper ballots that they deemed to be legitimate. essentially giving them a free ride to throw out any ballots that were for Biden. Only count the ones for Trump and boom, Donald Trump gets all the electoral votes. That's how the coup was supposed to happen. So again, these lawmakers were briefed on this two days before the capital riot. So they knew exactly what Donald Trump was trying to do, what his administration, what his friends, what his allies had suggested to him. There is no indication at all that one of these lawmakers alerted the department of justice, the FBI, local authorities, anyone, they had this information and they did nothing with it.

Any official who knew and didn’t report to the FBI or DOJ should be removed immediately, get the firing squad, and their entire estate (and their spouses estate, and minor children’s estates) seized. That’s a lot of Republicans.

Also, Fox hosts, the same ones who now claim Jan 6 was a peaceful picnic, families calmly touring congress, and it was BLM and ANTIFA and the FBI that perpetrated the violence that didn’t happen, were all frantically trying to reach the president to stop the attack on January 6, outraged he wouldn’t tell his supporters to stop attacking America, explaining how not acting to stop the coup was destroying his legacy and theirs.

What Was the FBI's Involvement in Jan. 6

newtboy says...

More liars spreading misinformation....like every single thing right wingers have ever said about the insurrection, the failed but attempted coup for Trump of Jan 6.

Come on @bobknight33, you know it was a horrible deadly attack against the United States when you're claiming it was Antifa or BLM who attacked, but now that every single person charged is a right wing nutjob like yourself, delusional, ignorant, and apoplectic over the bat shit crazy conspiracy theories you believe, suddenly you claim it was a peaceful picnic with families peacefully touring the capitol in orderly legal fashion, not the violent deadly hate filled anti American terroristic attack on democracy we all know it was.

The capitol police's minimal presence and preparedness was explained early on...the leadership refused to prepare, refused to deploy, and issued orders to retreat, all allegedly at the direct orders from Trump, that's why all his, and his families communications on Jan 6 are subpoenaed....it's been widely reported that he routinely used Melania's phone to avoid presidential scrutiny and recording of his conversation....like someone with a lot to hide. Multiple sources have confirmed this.

I won't insult your lack of intelligence by saying you believe this dishonest twaddle, but I will insult your lack of honesty for posting it, you dishonest idiot.

Deep Dive Dubai - The World's Deepest Pool

bremnet says...

Total N2 build up in the bloodstream is time dependent. If they're flitting about, zooming to the bottom and back to the top with very low Bottom Time, then the risk is (relatively) lower. But (IMO) not worth screwing with, as the downside (getting bent) is no picnic. Whether in a hole in Dubai or out on the reef, plan the dive and dive the plan.

Woman pepper sprays couple eating outside without masks

diego says...

well this hits me close.

I live in chile, in a rural area that was one of the few not in quarantine in the area. i have a bakery and since march even before govt mandate we shifted to takeaway and closed off the shop to customers, and reduced our shift to one person on site for only 4 hours, with PPE. a week ago, a guy from out of town came (taking advantage there was no quarantine here and thus notaries like the one next to me are open) and asked to use the bathroom, my employee refused and the guy then made a one minute video showing 2 people show up without masks, he walks up and starts berating them for not respecting the law and everyone there (mostly old ladies) basically got too scared to defend themselves, so the video looks bad. we ended up on the news, shut down, huge fine, for customers' behavior outside our shop- all because of a video that intentionally made it appear like we were serving people normally when that wasn't the case.

so im now more sensitive to the corona righteous as well as these short viral videos in general. unless those people eating outside were following her around and intentionally coughing on her, there is nothing to justify her using mace on them, but i agree that the video doesnt show enough to establish that. people everywhere need to adapt to the new reality and im all for prevention including hard quarantines where necessary, but we also have to be reasonable about how we approach one another and understand there are acceptable risks, such as having picnics or playing tennis, and unacceptable ones like not wearing a mask indoors or in groups.

Will Smith slams Trump

IMO, to be devout in any religion, you must be a fundamentalist. If you believe you have access to the direct instructions from GOD, and you believe in that god, yet you ignore the parts you dislike, you aren't following the religion and are an infidel, not devout. EDIT: Unless your text specifically allows you to use your own morality and interpretations, but I have not heard of a religion that does that.
As I see it, if you apply your own morality you are creating your own religion. Codified religions come with a defined set of morals that are unmodifiable, indisputable and unquestionable. If you question them, you question god, so can't be devout or following the religion. (This would be a good reason for any true believer to read only the original texts in their original tongue, not a translated version that's someone else's interpretation of the meaning.)

The religious texts are the central authority, they all contain specific rules and requirements. If you ignore some of those, IMO, you aren't honestly religious, you're a fan of religion.

I grew up in the deep south. I can say for certain that you are wrong that almost everyone ignores the outdated bits, but it's correct that most do hide the fact that they believe them because they know it makes them look terrible....but get them at a church picnic and you'll find out they do think slavery is fine, and whores should be stoned to death, etc. They are just mostly too chicken shit to do it themselves, as their book directs them to, because they're afraid of repercussion (and because they don't really believe god will protect them for being righteous, or that heaven is enough reward for being a martyr).

ChaosEngine said:

So which is it?

Either you can be a Christian or a Muslim and apply your own morality to your religion ...

or

you're not a Christian or a Muslim unless you're a literal fundamentalist?

Given there isn't really some kind of central authority on who is or isn't Christian, Muslim, Hindu or whatever, I think it's fair to say that if you believe in the general tenets of your religion, you are a christian/muslim/pastafarian.

IMO, most people are generally good despite their religion. While a few do good works because of their religion, almost everyone ignores the outdated bits (slaverly, etc)

Well over the next several hundred years we'll slowly leave our biology behind becoming digital entities that can substantiate physical bodies when needed. Eventually, in our travels we'll encounter others- and we'll find that regardless of their different biological origins, we are now more alike in all the ways that matter.

Where does the criticism of the religion end and its followers begin? Most Christians I know think the Crusades were a horrible idea, and don't inform their faith today. The pastor in the church I grew up in wrote off the entire old testament as a highly colored history, whose barbaric morality was replaced by the teachings of Jesus.

There are plenty of muslims where I live now. I see them at picnics, or walking around the neighborhood. The women hear scarves in their hair, but I never hear their husbands mistreat them, and they seem to enjoy all the freedoms of the western world just fine. Are we being fair to these people if we label them as following a hateful oppressive religion? I imagine a day i their mosque wouldn't sound that different than a day in a church in this part of the world.

We can criticise religions individually - for the divine exhortations to genocide in each of the abrahamic canons, for the promise of infinite torture by a benevolent god in both christianity and islam, for their arbitrary or bigoted taboos, and particularly of the newer creeds - islam, mormonism, scientology - for what we know to be the bad character of their founders.

Badminton: Play of the Day alright... holy cow

Sagemind says...

Hmmm, not sure how to respond to this.
Trust me, I was being completely serious. I honestly didn't know it was played at a competition level.

They sell them in the toy sections of every grocery and department store. It's a game, like lawn darts and bocci ball that we play when family comes to visit or at picnics. And every time we play it, even now, with my kids, we have to find the least broken rackets and the least squashed birdie to play with.

Seeing it played in competition, makes me think of competitive dodge-ball, something I also didn't know was a real sport other than in gym class.

Overall I like the layout. The hidden menus are slick. I'd like to see the voting buttons a smidge more prominent. I had to look around to find them (and did) but that something I was looking for. It should be super duper clear to a new user that this is an iterative site--to help get them engaged. I'd like to see the FAQ more prominent somehow.

And just as was already pointed out, tags? Where did they go? Are they off with the Channels enjoying a picnic? I can see neither.

gorillaman said:
