SEIU Executive VP Calls White Union Members Rabidly Racist

choggie says...

Ok so, why is it so hard to imagine that the inevitability of race issues as a major factor fueling an orchestrated societal meltdown in the face of a similarly orchestrated crisis, availability of food for example, as the ignition catalyst?

Obama shootin hoops and talkin smack

reiwan says...

Are you done yet? You're drilling this into absurdity.

Hes shooting hoops with an NBA star and a CBS sports anchor. So what if it was staged, scheduled, setup, orchestrated, or whatever. Do you really believe people think that he was just strolling down the street and he invited him in to shoot some b-ball? He didn't even finish his thought when he started talking about the let's move campaign, which is your main ammunition for blowing this video up.

He's playing something he loves to do.
He's playing with someone else who loves it just as much.
He talks about how basketball builds the team work frame of mind.
They both relate childhood experiences.
He starts to talk about his wifes campaign that helps kids.

WOW conspiracies abound! Better alert wikileaks on that one!

Guess what, did you know commercials are staged too? fuck me runnin'

Move along.
>> ^blankfist:

I don't see what he's doing as a big deal either. But when people comment as if this is just a spontaneous game, I think it's important to point out that it's not. The hyper-sensitive legion of Obama jumped all over me for making what I see as an obvious and harmless observation.
To those who blindly cling...

Anti-immigration Bigot Assaulted by Balloon-Wielding Mimes

Y'know....watching ineffectual demonstrations, seeing people like these damaged mimes and a man who can;\'t keep his religion from colliding with his orchestrated values along with the comments above and no doubt to follow below, makes me wonder just what goddamn planet I signed up for, and just how may morons there are here on this site who'd be as quick to check a fucking dictionary or the conditions leading up to the shitstorm of illegal immigration, as pull the racist/bigot card.

♫ Desperado, why don't you come to your senses? Come down from your fences and open the gate.
It may be raining, but there's a rainbow above you. You'd better let somebody love you, before it's too late. ♫

Buckingham Palace Guard play themes from 4 Star Trek series

RadHazG says...

Correction Arvana - It's 4 themes total. I don't believe the last 15sec or so is an actual theme just a tie up of the overall feel of each.
Star Trek : Original Series, Star Trek : Deep Space 9, Star Trek : Voyager, last one is Star Trek : The Next Generation

I was somewhat embarrassed to realize I recognized each of them within 2sec of the opening notes. But then ST:OS is all over the place, ST:DS9 is probably my favorite theme (if not show) and ST:Voy was probably almost my favorite series just barely under ST:TNG.

These gentlemen do a massive credit to the themes, played just beautifully. Also, I'm about 80% convinced that a large part of the reason ST:Enterprise failed so miserably (besides the show itself) is that it was the first series to step away from the grand brass orchestral opening and instead went with that piss ant contemporary music crap. How can you feel as if your actually in ST or about to set off on a grand adventure with THAT crap as the start? Go listen to the ST:Enterprise theme after this and see if you aren't immediately turned off to the series just based on the opening theme alone.

Pomplamoose covers Lady Gaga

lampishthing says...

I like them, but I know what you mean. Their reharmonized arrangements of banal pop tracks are clever and pithy, but at the end of the day, it's still a banal track at its core, and not the kind of thing I need to hear more than once. They could also stand to expand their orchestrational palette a bit too.

They do have their own material on their youtube channel... Not that I've listened to it, I enjoy their clever and pithy reharmonized arrangements of banal pop tracks.

If Lada Gaga isn't bad enough, now we have this. I know there's lots of fans here, and the band also parouses the sift and I hate to be mean to them, but holy hell this stuff is crazily boring to me.

They could also stand to expand their orchestrational palette a bit too. Bust out that theremin. Get away from the drumset and bang on some household appliances. You don't need to have toy glock and toy piano on everything you do, the more you use them the less special those cool sounds become. There is a fine line between having a distinct stylized sound and having everything sound the same.

Sorry for the unsolicited advice if you are reading this Pomplamouse - as you are obviously very talented and have a huge fanase that loves you just as you are - but armchair criticism is the whole point of the internet, isn't it?

60 Minutes: Inside the Collapse, Part 1

choggie says...

For starters, I am not at all adverse to having more information on the mechanics of the orchestrated and executed, sub-prime collapse-Real Estate is one of the hats I have worn....CBS' take on it should be considered trivial at best, and while we may or may not be able to suffer the slings and arrows of repeated advertisements for PHIZER products, or justify another second wasted on examining the symptoms of a greater and more insidious problem, that of continuing in a system which will inevitably force the majority into another fiasco of similar proportions, we can down-vote insidious product placement designed to garner twice the votes for having had to suffer a miniaturized version of one of the worst mechanisms of propaganda and control on planet earth.

And now we break for commercial, then to editorial, then to.....Oh I'm sorry..no practical solutions can be suggested here that don't involve the bending over and taking of foreign objects against our instincts, up the anus.

Pin the Debt on the Donkey!

Pin the debt on the fed who orchestrated the trillions stolen-RM is but another form of disinformation and the reinforcement of propaganda designed to keep the people in a state of fucking helpless confusion......I am getting tired of seeing her name and face on the videosift.-

CNN Interviews Eyewitnesses From Christmas Day Flight

NetRunner says...

So, actual terrorist event, or carefully orchestrated government plot to take your minds off the economy, healthcare and other current events?

Okay, I'm gonna put my foot down and demand that our conspiracy theories get a bit more plausible. I will admit that I'm actually a huge fan of conspiracy theories. Not because I'm swayed by any of them, but because I admire it as a genre of science fiction. The hook is that you invent a "secret" history for the world that ties together all the disparate and chaotic events of our world, and provides simple, unifying answers to them.

You know, the urban legend-ized version of Satan for our more secular culture.

In this case, clearly the cabal that both Obama and Bush are a part of only want to turn people into frightened, thoughtless animals. It's also clear that all terrorist plots are really perpetrated intentionally by the evil US government on its own citizens (because in the real world, America is never in danger from anything but the Soviet Union, Muslims, China, and Nazis and only then when they have Nukes). The purpose then is not to "distract" people from real concerns like the economy and health care, but to add the threat of bodily injury that is as unpredictable and random as it is impossible to protect yourself from, to make sure that the cold spike of fear is still there even on Christmas Day, as well as the general tableau of despair about your day to day life.

So no, it's not a fucking distraction, it's a devilishly smart move and we should all put on our tinfoil Santa hats and load up on ammo, because the mind control rays are nearly complete...

Hmmm, or maybe that's a distraction, and the real mind control rays come from these things called "television" and "radio" and "YouTube" and "blogs"... be careful what kinds of ideas you let take root in your mind, you never know if it's going to turn you into a zombie, or worse, a teabagger.

Statistics Of College Education In America (Geek Talk Post)

Aye, tis' a sad joke that the social devolution taking place before our very eyes is also being orchestrated and controlled, manipulated and structured as such; Akin perhaps to the damnable practices of Kum Dung Il with the entire culture of N. Korea....not much difference is it?

Did you just compare going to college in America with the force indoctrination of North Korea? Oi, you really are crazy....

No, but orchestrating a personal attack then pretending it's simply an innocent poll is perfectly acceptable. Even if it's NOT a personal attack, notice the most diligent on the thread so far feel they need a back and forth-I have been playing defense so far with some pretty inane sensibilities. Not the best with my morning coffee. Bring it on.

Shattered Horizon - Zero Gravity FPS

gtjwkq says...

In the beginning the suit says "Preloading audio simulation files".

Really? That's their excuse for unrealistic sound effects in space?

Just keep it silent, it's a lot more dramatic. Maybe some orchestral gameplay based music for added drama. The gun firing and stepping on surfaces could have dampened sounds too caused by the contact.

Ah who cares, i'm not buying this anyway.

Surprise Homecoming!

Avokineok says...

Did anyone else notice this is just an orchestrated event in which this father deliberately went on television to show his daughters tears to the nation?

Is this just another PR stunt to get some positive news about the still ongoing war in Iraq?

It's very interesting to see that a lot of smart people are on Videosift, and I really like the vids everyone posts and the critical thinking. But still we actually haven't really got a clue about most governmental and corporate ways of influencing the media.

Now think about all the people that are taking everything they hear on the news for granted.. That makes you doubt the democratic system in which everyone get's to vote..

The Melvins, "DIES IRAEA" (The Shining intro)

dystopianfuturetoday says...

The Dies Irae is a very old and famous melody, dating back to the days of Gregorian Chant, some 8 centuries ago. It was the part of the Roman Catholic Mass dealing with death and judgment day. The melody is still used commonly as thematic material in *darker pieces of music. It's most famous setting was in a orchestral piece called Symphonie Fantasique by Hector Berlioz.
