Keas are awesome. They're really cool and will actually open backpacks to get at your lunch.

I have no idea why NZ went with a boring flightless bird as the national animal when they have keas available.

I prefer Kea's, but they are both incredibly smart.

Just plain gorgeous, as beautiful in winter as they were in Summer. Next he needs to do Milford, what an awesome trek! (Although it's hard to find any hike in NZ that's not breathtakingly awesome.)
