Introducing Handle - new research robot from Boston Dynamics

newtboy jokingly says...

I would like to ask you to think twice before signing up to be a test subject to help in developing robotic hand jobs. Wait until they have it perfected......unless you LIKE industrial hydraulic press and shear level forces applied to your penis, then do whatever floats your boat (but don't whine to me about your flat, mangled, or missing peen...I warned you).

Misread the title initially, thought it said Handie, new research robot, was like "How does one sign up as a research subject?!"

Golf ball deformation at 70,000 fps (!)

csnel3 says...

This is ridiculous, it's clearly not a real golf ball. If you put a golf ball in a hydraulic press and apply tonnage it will pop like a grape before it gets this flat. Just smashing it real fast will not change the outcome. Cool effect in the vid. though.

Fox News in the future - from the excellent film "Idiocracy"

Assuming my memory is just as keen as yours, I watched Spiderman do battle with General Zod and company, which was exciting. I also saw Jurassic Park where a T. Rex climbed the Empire State building. That was kewl. And I remember seeing Lieutenant Ripley flatten a Terminator in a hydraulic press. Great flix, all around.

In Japan, they like to make sure their trains are FULL!

bigbikeman says...

That is just stupid.

What they should be doing is using a giant hydraulic press, and a grated floor to strain the juices from the solid bits. This just looks amateurish.
