CycberTruck Beats a Porsche 911

?
Is that what your damaged brain came up with? Get it checked out, something’s wrong. Leave it to you to take a full written explanation of my motives for distrusting this exagerated salesmanship and not understand a word.

If Road and Track did the test and you posted it, it would be all good.

When Elon in private creates this video to show fanboys (notice no audience at the test track), it’s blatantly obvious he has not just his thumb, but his entire body weight on the scales. He’s been caught faking it time and time and time again, then failing to live up in real life with no apologies when his customers complain he didn’t provide what he promised for the exorbitant fees he charges.

Again, just look and listen…Tesla in launch mode, chirping but not spinning the tires…old unspecified Porsche at <1000rpm taking off soft, no noise at all, no tire spin, never a high rev, the 911 is not trying to win. Hardly a real test. No audience, no clock, no speed, where are the track numbers for the test (he lists the factory claims for an empty truck at the end, not actual test numbers, not the track results for this race).

I upvoted and promoted your bumper car video. It has nothing to do with you posting it, dummy, that only raises suspicions that it’s dishonest. It’s horrible because it’s clearly being dishonest to over hype and sell a questionable product….it’s a commercial….a bad dishonest commercial.

CycberTruck Beats a Porsche 911

So the top of the line Tesla truck costing over $100k can beat an old base model Porsche while towing up to 2300 lbs (my guess is it’s probably just a shell at +-500lbs) under Elons supervision in a 1/4 mile. How many runs did it take to get this shot? Absolutely more than one.

Total fake. Let’s see it in real life booby, with a new 911 turbo that’s sub 2.2 seconds 0-60mph (road and track said 1.9 seconds), not an old used base model against a race prepped truck and not using launch, in fact not even reving the motor for a fast start, you can barely hear it, but you hear the truck tires chirp. Also, given another 200 ft, even that Porsche would have won, of course EVs have better off the line acceleration, a leaf beats a Porsche in a 1/8 mile. Nice try Elon.

Elon is still butt hurt because Porsche beat him at Nürburgring last year, taking the lap record from a special plaid using a standard Taycan (which is cheaper too), so he’s trying to save face with this fake comparison.

He’s promised big before and fell flat on his face, remember bullet proof windows?
Notice the specs he lists are his claims for an unloaded high end special >$100k model, not the base model and absolutely not the race we saw.

Don’t you hate being lied to? I do.

Should videosift allow images in comments? (User Poll by oritteropo)

messenger says...

I'm not a fan. I don't think this is possible at any star level of the Sift to get even 10% of the images posted to be more beneficial than harmful to conversations. Using other people's images to make your own point discourages thought, and our required level of commitment to at least verbalizing your arguments yourself is one of the key ingredients that makes this such a great community.

@eric3579 has mentioned several times that there's little advantage to it. If there aren't any advantages and there are obvious predictable disadvantages, then it's a bad idea. Can anybody give examples of embedded images in comments that would benefit the Sift to such a degree that they outweigh the obvious negatives?

As @dag has said, it'll mostly be imgr etc. memes. These images are usually meant to end conversations, not foster them, so once an image like that has been dropped into a thread, it's not likely anybody will continue talking on that thread (within the comment stream).

Allowing images would encourage people to do a quick drive-by chirp or just be funny rather than actually engage. If someone posts a meme answer, I can't very well quote the meme and ask them to elaborate, nor will I waste my time explaining how I disagree with it.

I've had lots of engaging conversations with people I disagree with on the Sift because we have to use words. If those people had used a meme instead as a shortcut to their own more precise idea, they wouldn't have been forced to articulate themselves, and I wouldn't have answered.

So, no, not at any level.

I am actually really interested in getting some context here. Though Karimov and his military are clearly gangsters, and though there is clearly growing unrest in Uzbekistan, I am not aware of any "wars" going on. Who are these guys? What is happening here? Internet?? (Chirp)

How attached cats are to their owners?

shatterdrose says...

My cat, Kahlan, was a dog.

Honestly though, she was very attached. When she heard me come home, she would run to the door, jump on the couch, then jump on me. She chose to sleep in bed with me, not my girlfriend, who was the one who brought her home. She'd sit on my shoulder or arm when I was on the computer, and would go walking with me.

Then I had Casey who wouldn't let anyone but me pet him. My friends called I'm the Devil Cat. He'd hiss, growl, claw etc at everyone else. He once tore my dad's arm up. I walked over, picked him up, and he acted like an ashamed child to me.

But then I had Bagheera, he was a slut. He didn't care who you were, so long as you were giving him attention.

Tony (the Tiger) . . . well, he was el suavé. He was the typical cat. He defined cat. It was always on his terms, and if you wanted to pet him, it was up to him if that was ok. Kahlan would come to me when I chirped at her, but Tony . . . yeah, you should fire off a shotgun and he wouldn't even bother acknowledging your existence.

So yeah, it really depends on the cat and owner.
