Then Gaetz proudly forced even his wife to refrain from watching the Super Bowl because he was afraid they would sing “lift every voice and sing” again, and he said that’s the black national anthem and hearing a song that tells the struggle of downtrodden Americans (never once mentions race in the song, btw) is so offensive to him, so triggering, that he forced his family to cancel the Super Bowl….but you don’t see racism there, you only see racism in scholarships for poor black students and loans for black businesses.

Yeah, but ignore all the benefits society gave him to make those things easy and beneficial...forget that (forced) hard work, work ethic, and obedience are hallmarks of black history, forget that God and family are far more deeply ingrained in black culture than white (yeah, I expect you'll counter with 'they don't have families', and ignore the reason why so many are missing the father....disproportionate prosecutions and sentences, and ignore that poor whites are in the same boat but with a white life preserver that often keeps them out of prison, so in society and home). Forget that embodying none of these has helped them, because historically those traits are easy to exploit, and 'white America' has historically exploited them in black Americans....but you won't see that.

Edit: put more simply, doing those things isn't white privilege, but being secure in the knowledge that they'll benefit you is.

I think the guy stripped his own dignity when he got drunk.

But what about this possibility? The black cop and the black drunk share a black history, they understand each other, and when the black cop punches the guy in the face, both know that the drunk will understand it.

Anyway, the black cop probably learned from slavery that punching black men in the face is acceptable, and the black drunk knows from slavery that getting punched is what happens.

So...somebody tell the lawyers.

Bottom line...fault lies with white people, who enslaved black people.

Another way to handle it would be for the cops to ignore drunks, and when the drunk falls face first into an alley and the dayshift cop comes across him, he just calls the squad, who pack the guy off to the detox center. No harm, no foul. We just raise taxes to pay for all the additional detox centers and ambulances. People will be happy to pay extra just so there is peace on the street...and the occasional drunk to step over.
