"It's like I woke up on Christmas morning after a sleepless night of excitement only to have my father shit in my mouth and touch me in the "no-no" spot before telling me Santa Claus isn't real and I don't have shit under the tree."

Geebus! If that's the way you feel when a PC delivery gets delayed by a day or two I'd HATE to know what you do if something of actual import happened.

You know... like if someone pissed in your ass gravy or something.

^Actually, I was hoping to get it today so I could install all my software for a job I promised to start tomorrow for a client. I still have a backup machine, but it would've been nice if Apple delivered when they promised.

As of this moment, they have NO IDEA where the computer could be. Seriously. That's some amazing service. And they told me I have to wait at least 3 days from the delivery date until they will "look into the problem". That's what they said.

Sometimes you need things when people promise them. Are you not used to people delivering what they promise in Canada, spoco?

I'm going to try my best to not sound condescending here, but this is why I build/fix/operate/fiddle with/smash my own computers. It does not even register in my mind the concept of having to ship off a computer of mine somewhere or leave it in a shop to be repaired and being in the hands of someone else. If something ever goes wrong on my computer to me its just a few hours of my time repairing it.

I guess that is the tradeoff though right there, my free time for free computer repair. Even worse when everyone who knows me always tries to get free repairs too

I wasn't supposed to say anything, but your computer isn't missing at all. We all chipped in and bribed the delivery service to have your mac driven in circles around your block for the next couple of days. If you look out your window, you should see the truck passing by every 30 minutes or so. The driver said he'd moon you on every other pass for an extra 50, but you'll be the only one to know if he actually delivered on that promise.

Dont worry, your package will get to you eventually. Oh and don't worry about the air holes and scratching noises coming from it. It is absolutely safe to open the box without wearing any protective gear

So you also fabricate all the parts for your computers out of your magic rectum? Or you buy off-the-shelf parts from wal-mart? Or you get them shipped to you by Newegg?

Point being, if you pay for overnight shipping, you fucking expect overnight shipping. Doesn't matter that it happens to be a missing computer. It could have just as easily have been your Swedish Made Penis Enlargement Pump. If you wanted it tomorrow, and payed to get it by tomorrow, then you have every right to be pissed off if you can't even ask where it is until three days later.

Yeah, paying for it to arrive quickly and having that not happen is shite. But, you know... equating it to a bit of 'fatherly love' seemed excessive

The last Dell I bought took 3 darn weeks to arrive. That was darn annoying seeing as it was a replacement for a stolen laptop, so I was laptopless that whole time.

Also, I would be in Australia, not Canada, never even been there, although want to go.

The point I was trying to convey is that I am not used to having someone else fix my computer, not that I magically build them . Sorry.

Being on the other end of things, its sometimes hard to tell the level of desperation of the customer. Yes, either way if it was overnight shipping it should have been exactly that.

Just today some clueless fuckign cunt at the movie candy counter said "you'll have to bear with me, my system has crashed. I wish it was a Mac." I immediately wrote her off as a vapid twit.
