"Come play with us, Danny."

ulysses1904 says...

That one scene gave me a lifelong fear of traveling across the country on a premonition to rescue some snowbound people from a Colorado hotel. I was okay with it until then.

I saw this movie in Denver when it came out and people were laughing out loud in the theater because it was so bad and so far removed from the book.

Dr. Gupta thinks denying Medicinal Marijuana is Immoral

My migraines aren't in remission but I don't suffer nearly as long as I used to since using light psychoactive CBD/THC. Duration of intense pain, loss of vision, loss of feeling in limbs, nausea, vomiting, and the rare seizure has been reduced from 6-12 hours every 2-4 weeks to maybe 2 hours every couple months, sometimes only with nausea, loss of vision, and minor or no pain.

However, the loss of vision, or what my doctors have referred to as visual "premonitions" are still a major pain that I'm not certain will ever go away. Luckily I don't get very many migraines any more. However, if I do get a migraine I still cannot drive or do anything that requires sight. Although I can technically see, it's severely impaired.

The absence or dulling of the pain during a migraine is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me medically. I had a migraine 2 days ago while I was jogging at the park, ran to my car so I could quickly get home before my vision was fucked, and then placed a soluble CBD + THC tablet (Trokie) up into the corner of my mouth where it was slowly absorbed into the facial branches of my carotid artery. After my vision cleared up, I had no headache.

Keep in mind I also take a pure CBD tablet every couple days, so it's not just the one tablet during episodes.

Do You Know Who You're Talking To? (Sift Talk Post)

My brother committed suicide one week and a half ago. No warning, except for a few small clues of "usual" depression. He most likely had Asperger's from everything we know. But, he never got diagnosed as he was paranoid of doctors and hadn't seen so much as a dentist in 13 years.

I've tried to commit suicide myself in the past. I failed and was diagnosed with bi-polar. My brother pulled his off without a hitch. He had no such second chance--to rise from your own ashes and learn to understand yourself, and in turn others.

I have the vision of hindsight with me now. I know just how dangerous these murky waters of the mind are. They are utterly ignorant. Unrelenting. These waves deceive your mind's eye and convey only one premonition to come. And just when you think it can't be worse reality chases you through your days and dreams like some harried demon; an elemental made of some compulsion filled fateful last night of twilight's last dance. The lighthouse throws shadows rather than light and all the ports are closed.

THAT is what it means to be lost, truly. It requires great effort to stave it off. It is very much like a pitching sea. You must treat it almost like a monster of the deep by going to your doctor and arming yourself with what you can. Drugs, meditation, life changes, and most importantly knowledge...

The Internet may be a trigger in some small amount of cases, I agree. But, it is at school before we become young adults that we need to know these things and learn where to get help. We need to know how to recognize all types in ourselves and others as it is a common place issue; meanwhile psychiatry still remains semi-taboo topic in the public domain, making it a bigger problem still. It's very hard to help someone set on suicide as they are very much like Ahab in "Moby Dick". Watch your words, but know it is never truly one needle that truly breaks the camel's back.

I have a premonition about May 21st also:

On May 22nd we'll have yet another concrete example of the blazingly obvious fact to all but the most brainwashed death cult members that so-called religious experts and fanatics don't have any more of a clue where the fuck existence came from or where it is going.

This sadly won't stop them from miraculously finding a small mathematical error in their apocalypse algorithm that will allow them to re-compute doomsday.

ESP is more real if science says it isn't (Science Talk Post)

last night i had a freaky premonition that you were writing a sift post, but i ignored it because i was right in the middle of writing my own sift post on how vaccinations cause autoeroticism.

personally, i choose not to interpret the study as support of his latter interpretation, a decreasing trust in the institution of science.

with the exception of minor and inevitable setbacks, backlashes, and dark ages along the way, i see the long-term graph of trust in science over superstition reassuringly on the rise.

though the study does highlight one of the reasons why, in the scope of one lifetime on that graph, it can seem a painfully slow progression.

Random acts of kindness... (Blog Entry by burdturgler)

Alright, confess! Who did it? It's fucking killing me!

I'll tell you the truth, and I know this will sound crazy, but I swear to god this actually happened. I woke up from a dream that involved someone gifting me power points, stumbled over to the computer ... and came here to see that I was gifted charter. No shit.

Granted, I spend way too much time here obviously if I find myself having a dream about it ... but wtf ... that is just a bit more than coincidence. I've never had a premonition in a dream before. At least not one that I remember. Very weird experience that I'm still trying to understand.

Nikola Tesla: The Missing Secrets ( part 1 of 4 )

I think a few of the rumors about his "mental weakness" may have been started or exaggerated by Edison. I'm not saying Tesla was without problems, but Edison worked very very hard to try to discredit him and his work during the "current wars" of the 1880's and '90's.

Final Destination - ALL The Deaths From Movie 3

Eden says...

oh, really? the YouTube submitter refuted all comments that it was missing any - was very adamant - reckoned the only ones missing were 'premonition' deaths rather than 'reality' deaths. At least, I think that's what was meant. Still, doesn't explain why they decided to omit them (?)

Russian Scientists Keep A Severed Dog's Head Alive

I wonder if it's studies like this that spawned the first premonitions of future generations with technology to keep people alive in head-only fashion. (E.g., Futurama episodes where today's celebrities live in glass jars of the future.)
