When the 10,000 foot high laurentide ice sheet receded away from the NY region it
carved out ecological niches that will continue to exist until the next ice age in 'several thousand years'.
This video examines those niches and unique features that are, and were present in the NY region.
This video was especially awsome to me. Not only because I'm a science nerd,
but because I am apart of theAdirondack trail crew, and have seen many of these
features in person. I have noticed these huge variety of geological features and always
wondered why this place was so unique, this video represents a holy grail of sorts;
a truly awesome find.
