Directed by Mel Brooks from a screenplay co-written with the film's star Gene Wilder. Shot in glorious black & white and featuring the same lab equipment used in the original 1931 film Frankenstein, this clever and hilarious homage to the classic horror films of the 30's and 40's (in particular the films of James Whale) has become a classic in its own right.
