gwiz665says...They should make a different type of swimming just called dive-race or something.
robbersdog49says...Seven-time All-American swimmer Hill “Dolphin Man” Taylor recently surpassed the 50-meter backstroke world record by a full second. But Hill’s final time of 23.1 won’t count because he swam the entire length of the pool underwater.
What he has done is certainly impressive, but he definitely didn't do backstroke. The rules are clear, it's not like this would have been a surprise to him.

Perhaps it should be called a "swimming race" and you can swim anyway you'd like. Unless of course, you can use ANY method you want in "free-style" races.
EmptyFriendsays...i don't think he or anyone is suprised in the DQ, this video is more impressive just for the speed and distance he goes underwater.
Yogisays...He's quite talented...but he's a cheating jackass who MUST BE PUNISHED!!!
legacy0100says...We need more female athletes with this type of talent
Truckchasesays...The body snatchers are here. RUN!
Opus_Moderandisays...Patrick Duffy can probably do better
entr0pysays...Unfortunately he's over 2 seconds behind the freestyle record. But as long as he enters the wrong sort of competition, I don't see him being beaten.

xxovercastxxsays...To suggest he set a world record and was later disqualified seems rather disingenuous. At no point was he participating in the event at hand.
eric3579says...I agree, but it makes for a catchy title. I would say it's fudging the truth.

MaxWildersays...Yes, even the live announcer knew that first place went to the guy who was swimming properly.
