Woman Driver in Saudi Arabia Condemned to Ten Lashes

Shortly after promising women the right to vote, Saudi Arabia cracks down on women's freedoms by condemning a woman to ten lashes for disobeying the religious ban on driving. Imo, the whole allowing them to vote/present themselves as candidates in municipal elections is just for show; a vain gesticulation to appease the west while continuing to keep women under lock and key. If you can't go anywhere or do anything as a women without a male relative's permission, what makes you think you'll be allowed to get anywhere in politics, unless as a parrot for the patriarchal status quo?
