"It could prove vital to an ongoing investigation as to why an entire city block exploded in green flame, Green Flame!"

I was driving on a country highway around midnight through flat snow-covered fields when a transformer blew a couple miles away. The entire sky, from horizon to horizon, turned from black to bright, pulsing electric blue for several seconds. My buddy and I both screamed "WHAT THE F***!?!" in perfect unison at the top of our lungs. One of those things you'll never forget.

just the camera adjusting towards darker to compensate for the bright light from the explosion. Digital cameras have very low contrast ratios.
>> ^VoodooV:

crazy how the sky appears to get dark when it goes blue

I saw a transformer blow years ago perhaps a hundred yards from my fathers home at the time. People were coming out in the rain, barefoot running around and talkin to each other. I looked to my dad and said 'um, they are standing in water near a blown transformer.' He yelled to them but nobody listened. They are lucky none of the lines came down from the explosion.

It was the coolest thing I've ever seen. lol
