What happened to the sifters who used to chime in defending the cops every time one of these videos came on the sift? They get exhausted or something?

That's why you need the 2nd Amendment. The cops are way over the line. They may have a badge but they were not acting as cops but as wrong doer thugs.

The bystander need to let off a waring shot to stop the cops, then shot at them if they did not stop..

I'm usually pro cop, I require context for a lot of things when I see them, but Cenk is right. It doesn't matter what that guy did, those cops should not be doing that. Throw the book at them. That's one thing I wish would change. Cops who get caught doing something get a slap on the wrist.

This is ridiculous and the cops DO need to be disciplined beyond a write up or paid time off.

That being said when they say that the cops should behave up there with the best of us, that they should be held to a higher standard etc. I agree with him. Now assuming that you believe this, it's only natural that the people who have:
- one of the most dangerous domestic jobs around
-that have large amounts of work and personal stress derived from their job
-that are constantly under criticism (sometimes founded but mostly not) by the people that they serve
- are expected to behave above and beyond normal societal standards while on duty

...should be some of the best paid, highly qualified, and highly respected people in our community. Lucky for us we treat them that way....right?

We can't expect the best of people all the while treating them worse than we treat store clerks or waitresses that bring us our lunch.

I'm just waiting for a video where it's less clear that the cops are needlessly beating the shit out of someone.

Policing is a shitty job that I wouldn't want for a second. If I had to I'd hope I would do the job with the minimum amount of force and the maximum amount of courtesy, but you can damn well believe I'd defend myself if I had to.

Those sifters (like myself) typically look at the video and don't immediately assume we know the full situation. From the looks of things here this is pretty strait forward abuse. I'm glad to know that one obvious abuse video validates numerous other "gotcha" videos that end up on the internet. I'm sure by now we all know that pepper spray, tasers, and batons where all placed in police hands for brutality and can never be used for the aid in apprehending a suspect.
