The View: Bruno - Almost Porn

Barbara Walters: "its not a family movie; almost porn"

Whoopi: "A twelve foot penis on a screen is not my idea of a good time, in the house yes, but not on the screen."
Januarisays...

I don't believe the point was to suggest that a penis is evil, more that parents should be aware this is not a movie for young children, and from the sounds of it she is quite correct.

My estrogen levels just rose. Thanks.

Also, notice the disdain these people have for us common folk. "...with regular people, not a screening." "little people." It's nearly harmless, but enough implication behind their tone that it sets me off a bit.

Barbara doesn't like it when he makes fun of normal people? ALL comedy (or more appropriately, what causes us to laugh and find something funny) is derived from only two elements:
1. Catching us by surprise - ie. building an expectation, and then delivering something other than the expected result.
2. Feeling superior to something/someone

And she even said she liked Borat, which the majority of centered on #2. (er...no pun intended) Seems to me she didn't think her argument through carefully enough.

And when are we finally going to get some 12' vagina on the screen?

watered down version of Europe? she kept bringing that up..wtf Bruno...is not a representation of ALL OF EUROPE lol..plus notice how the blond inserted several little high school discreet put downs towards both Joy and Barbara

Unaccommodatedsays...

YEA! The blond bitch needs to lay off the comments about Europe; shes from the south and probably has never even been there.
And Barbara WA-WA needs to lay off the botox, and pretending to be a puritanical prude. I bet she loved the penises more then she'd admit.

entr0pysays...

ooooooh, she means "little people" as in, "unimportant, poor, non-famous people". Here I thought she was using a current politically correct term, but she's really using an antiquated demeaning euphemism for the working class. Well played Barbra.

imstellar28says...

i don't think any of the negative comments towards them are justified.

they sat through the whole movie, and they thought it had funny parts which is surprising enough. what more do you expect? thats pretty "ahead of the times" given their generation. how would your grandma/mother react to it? the movie was out of control outrageous

he face-fucked the camera-man for christ sakes.
