The Soft Moon - Dead Love (at Room 205)

YouTube Description:

Presenting the final installment of Room 205: Episode Eight with The Soft Moon. When asked to elaborate on the track's howling hyena vibe, The Soft Moon's singer/guitarist, Luis Vasquez, remarked, "It's a story about being in love with the ghost of a person's past self." We know exactly what he means. The Soft Moon is a San Francisco-based neo-post-punk band influenced by early Bay Area avant-gardists such as Chrome, Units and Minimal Man. Their cataclysmic delivery makes listeners contemplate the deeper aspects of the primal self through weeping guitar leads, cutting bass lines, haunting vocals, icy synths and motorik beats. Mix in the mind-bending visuals of band member Ron Robinson and we have one hell of a Room 205 episode.BIORaised under the burning sun of the Mojave desert, Luis Vasquez channels both his punk upbringing and Afro-Cuban heritage to sculpt dystopian soundscapes for a new generation of torn romantics. Vasquez founded The Soft Moon in 2009 as a means to explore music on a more visceral level, releasing the singles "Breathe the Fire" and "Parallels" on the Captured Tracks label. Shortly thereafter he brought on bassist Justin Anastasi, drum machine & synth programmer Damon Way and visual artist Ron Robinson. The debut LP, The Soft Moon, continues Vasquez's deeply personal journey into primal expression and spontaneous creation.COMPONENTS%3...
