Tamil Protest Closes Gardiner Expressway in Toronto

Tamil protestors stormed the onramp to the Gardiner expressway (starting slightly north on Spadina Avenue). Shutting down the highway on Sunday May 10 causing traffic gridlock, it was meant to draw attention to the thousands of recent civilian casualties in the ongoing Civil War / genocide underway in Sri Lanka as the government tries to finish off the Tamil's rebel army.

They ended up shutting down traffic in both directions. Amazing photos also up at http://torontoprotest.blogspot.com/.
