Following the discussion which took place in the comment section of a video (linked above) posted by @pumkinandstorm, I felt it would be interesting to revive the discussion on mental health and how sufferers of mental illness should be treated, both by healthcare professionals and by society at large.

In this fascinating TEDTalk, Eleanor Longden gives us the opportunity to not only view the world the eyes of a paranoid schizophrenic, but also the opportunity to view the world through the eyes of a person who has fought her inner demons and lived, becoming a happier, healthier and more fulfilled person as a result of that inner journey.

As Eleanor, and many others like her, shows us, even insanity can be cured when a human being is given a nurturing and understanding environment.
