Store manager uses racial profiling!

A store manager follow two teens while trying to be covert, but it's pretty obvious he's following these two kids.

I would have liked to have seen what he would have done if they'd split suddenly... or turned a corner and really jogged to the other end of the store... Or maybe just turned a blind corner and stood there and waited for an extended period of time...

All kidding for all their joking about it... i would think this has to feel pretty infuriating.

He is not in public, he is on private property, secondly, most every grocery store you walk into has a sign that there is to be no recording or picture taking.

Starting out I did not understand the point to this video, and I am left with the same feeling.

Okay, so say the kid was racially profiled... what now ? a discussion? this isn't anything new to the world.

I just kind of compare this to posting a video of a bird flying and titling it " bird flies in the wind"

god i hate political correct people

there is nothing wrong with profiling

profiling is the outcome of proven statistics. Course the p.c. crowd will claim the statistics are wrong that certain types do certain crimes, but it's been proven time and time again. mostly lower income.

I've done my share of profiling when I was a manager at a truck stop, some trashy teens came in we put alert to keep eyes open and more than half the time we'd bust one for slipping candy or goods in their pockets.

like comedian Ron White says, "profiling works"

Long ago I worked as undercover security busting people for shoplifting. The fact is if you always are watching blacks or teens or men or whatever(due to the idea that racial profiling works), you will ONLY catch those people. If i only watch teens, I will only bust teens for shoplifting.

Tbh, I don't doubt that black teens are more likely to shoplift than say, white over 50, whether or not profling works isn't really the issue. The issue is you treat people differently based on their skin colour/age/dress. That pretty much the definition of inequality no? "Excuse me sir, you'll have to be escorted through the store because your "type" is more likely to steal." Imagine for a second if that was said to you... If you can't put aside your preconceptions based on skin colour, however statistically sound, it still makes you a racist.

I remember when this happened to me. I became furious and angered at being treated this way. I left the shop flustered and overall just pissed off to be treated in such a degrading manner. Afterwards I felt more likely to enact revenge on the shop in some unlawful manner, but I didn't because that is not who I am.

I'm a white male.

I was 22 and I ended up in a shop with two of my best friends. Twin black males of the same age. I asked them afterwards if they were pissed off or angry about it. They had not seemed to notice because after a lifetime of this they had come to expect it. These guys were two of the most stand up best people I have met in my life. They help everyone in need, constantly volunteer, and one of them even works with disabled children. Today I am still not sure what sickens me more. The fact that people are treated like this. Or that these two great guys are treated this way so often that it is the norm for them.

I may get some flak for this next statement but I do have to say. You really can't understand how this makes you feel until it happens to you. Even if you are empathetic and understanding of the situation.

You know what else is infuriating? People assuming you're a racist because you happen to be a white guy watching two black kids.

Show me there's a pattern of this guy following black kids; only black kids.

"Racist" is an ugly word, too, when it's tossed around so casually.

digitalbombdogsays...

I'm pretty sure they're being followed because they're two people slowly meandering through a grocery store without a cart, and not actually shopping. I would think they're shoplifting as well, regardless of age or skin color.

This used to happen to my friends and me as white, middle-class teens. It's not always a race thing.

Well I'm white so if it's ever not about race it's an outrage. The very fact I have to be searched at an Airport makes me want to blow the entire fucking world up.
