From "the 1950 film directed by Victor Saville, Kim. Shows Kim, a teenager, engaged in a game at the home of Mr. Lurgan, who runs a jewel shop. Lurgan instructs Kim on how to remember things after having had a look at them for a few seconds." (YouTube) Taken from the Rudyard Kipling book entitled Kim.

I think often of this scene having seen it the first time too much over half a century ago and never seen Bourne or any other such spycraft without thinking of it and the admonishment.
