Sports of the World: Elephant Polo

Hua Nin, Thailand: Elephant polo is played each year with 16 international teams vying for the golden trophy. In 2007, competitors included members of the Australian Wallabies and New Zealand All Blanks rugby teams.

Originally played by Indian kings, elephant polo saw a resurgence in 1982 when the sport was reinstated in Nepal. Tournaments have been held every year since.
