I hope they work on the little graphic glitches and the NPC movement routines.
These are the only two problems I can see so far. Literally the only two.
It's like Gothic 1 all over again, only in 2011, fantastic!

In a year or so I'll be able to afford a PC to run Skyrim like this, and hopefully there will be a wealth of mods and fixes which make the experience that much better. I can't wait.

Right now I'm just waiting on the next patch and hoping they fix most of the issues.

I haven't played a minute of Skyrim - not yet.

As I clicked on the Play button, I glanced at the 8:20 length, and thought, "No way in hell I'm going to watch all 8-minutes uninterrupted, not with my attention-span."

Boy, was I wrong. *quality

Also, I'll just say it out load right now - Jeremy Soule is my favorite videogame composer of all time.

Still unimpressed by the desaturated, almost monochromatic color scheme of most of the landscapes. Upvoted for the music!

12 year-old me back in 1982 would have gone completely apeshit on seeing Skyrim. This was the state-of-the-art RPG at the time:

You can see the similarities to Skyrim though.

Skyrim is a tundra. What do you expect?

On the other hand, if you run into the texture memory bug, you'll find lots of splashes of purple for the last few minutes before the game crashes.

Steam says i've been playing for 33 hours.. oh boy.. that number is gonna look tragic before I reach my first play through, I've just reached the city of 'Solitude'.

Skyrim's moon doesn't orbit on the same plane as it's rotation. 1:40 - 1:45

I noticed that too, also, if thats the case, the Skyrim moon's orbit is A LOT faster than ours is.

I know it looks like shit, but this was pretty amazing back in the day. Considering the progress made in 30 years, I can only imagine what games will look like in another 30 years. >> ^dag:

Looks like Plastic to me.

Yes, but this is the actual gameplay. This level of detail is amazing! The smoke coming off of the fire and blowing in the direction of the wind. The clouds. Look at Morrow in 2002. Your judgement is out of context. I read a book but it only had words and in my head I see nothing so I watched a Blu-ray.

Book < Games < CGI < Video of real life < Real life. Or Games < CGI < Video of real life < Book < Real life, if you want to be philosophical.

Yeah the game is pretty, but the gameplay is shitty. Go here, explore another rather generic dungeon, retrieve mediocre randomly generated loot, and repeat over and over again. Why should I go trekking half away across Skyrim for you, some random person whom I've just met for 5 seconds?

And playing as a mage, the combat just plain sucks. I just stand there while my follower tanks, and spam firebolt. Its about as interactive as a MMO, and this is on expert difficulty. Got the game against my better judgement, despite hating Oblivion, and now I'm 25 levels in and have no motivation to continue.

Actually, you are in a game right now. [Note - This message is a hint from the game system. To reach the next level, logout and login under the "Neo" account.]

Absolutely - it was a great game. Warren Robinette is a game deity. It's just that most of the cool graphics had to happen in your head.>> ^dystopianfuturetoday:

I've been enjoying the game a lot. My only gripes have nothing to do with the graphics, but with the shoddy, slap-dash way they ported the game over to the PC. The GUI, video options, and other controls are horrible for keyboard/mouse. There are so many little things wrong with the way they handled the PC interface that Skyrim really should be a case-study in how NOT to do a game interface. It sucks. It really does.

Other than that, the game is fantastic. Let's hope Bethesda fixes the lousy interface (including that awful perks menu) and gives PC players their due. Either that or let's hope that the 3rd party mods compensate for Bethesda's incompetence.
