Shep Smith's Reaction to Romney's Reaction of Newt Quitting

Trancecoachsays...

reacting to Newt's withdrawal the way a sane person would. How un-Fox-like...

How long do you think before this catchphrase finds its way onto shirts, dance remixes, and a new political party:

Shep Smith is, for a moment, a bona fide deer in the mind-numbingest of headlights.

Clearly you've missed a good argument cause of anti-fox bias. It's kinda understandable tho..

Shep's point is: Wow, that's a strangely polite and creepy response considering Romney and Newt have vehemently opposed and talked shit about each other up until a few days ago.

e.g. -

"In the most negative primary season ever, Mitt Romney is outspending Newt Gingrich 5 to 1 on attack ads ahead of today’s primary in Florida, stopping the ex-speaker’s momentum coming off a South Carolina win."

"In honor of Newt Gingrich's impending endorsement of Mitt Romney, the Obama campaign has compiled several clips reminding voters of all the nasty things Newt said about Mitt during the GOP primary."

@ GenjiKilpatrick:
It's not weird at all. It's exactly what you'd expect him to say. Gingrich is out of the race, so now Romney needs his supporters to vote for him if he's to become POTUS. To that end, he ends the hostilities as if nothing happened, without making any statements relevant to actual policy issues. Romney supporters are happy Romney's bid for the presidency is now stronger, and Gingrich supporters need appeasing.

I don't think anyone doubts this, but in any other walk of life spending months and a considerable fortune criticising someone in every way imaginable, and a few unimaginable, you don't then go "yep, he's a good pal that one". That's weird, creepy and detached from reality.

I imagine Shep Smith won't be too popular at Fox for pointing out how messed up this is.

After seeing Robot Chicken doing the Gay Lisp imitation of Shep Smith I can't take him serious anymore, I always hear the gay lisp when he talks.

Frankly I'm surprised that Shep Smith is still working for FOX. It's like he's their token real person amongst all the Stepford journalists.>> ^Quboid:

Nah, Shep's not in any danger...he's their token non-loon, after all. This kind of thing is precisely why they keep him around.
